sleepingbooty Kimidori now has Steve Duncan's collection in stock, too. Is buying from scrapbook.com a good deal compared to buying in Europe? How about taxes? Thanks for sharing the link nicolep . Does anyone know if DCWV is of good quality? I don't think I have ever bought their products.

I might wait until Scrapmalin gets it in stock. No rush as I am using old Pebbles paper for the 2018 Christmas mini I'm currently working on.
scrapbook.com is ideal for small orders if a small order is what you want: I can get the EPP 6x8 album, ephemera pack, chipboard Thickers, a few papers and a set of alphas (and probably another thing or two like Tim Holtz's Christmas Clippings stickers - they're baaaack!) with the US pricing and only US$6.99 in shipping (next weight threshold is 11.99). That always, always turns out cheaper than buying in France (even if you manage to get a free shipping deal from the French retailer). Especially with how pricy Lafourmicreative has become when it comes to 12x12 chipboard sets and ephemera packs. Have not been hit with taxes so far (fingers crossed). They send it by registered mail which converts to a tracked La Poste number once it enters France. I think it's the fact that I'm placing small orders (with shipping included, I almost never exceed $35) that has helped not getting taxed so far. Although, who knows, it might just be luck...
I prefer to order individual papers in France and get a cheap shipping quote (like from Scrapmalin) and hit up scrapbook.com for all the stuff that gets overpriced here (embellishments mostly).

I just feel like it all looks the same as past years. And I am bored with it. I have the red Ali album + the PP mini coming. And I *like* both of those, but not sure what else I want to use with it. I have a bunch of 6x8 papers + cards left from past years and they are all pink, turquoise, etc and I don't like them. I just want to set it all on fire and start over, lol. I won't, of course, but I feel like nothing feels 'fresh' for DD. I'd say: burn it! Or, ya know, donate it/RAK it/recycle it. No need to keep all these rests that you've grown bored with in your stash. What are the chances you suddenly start loving it again?
Have you considered looking into some digitals and printing out your own cards instead? Maybe Paislee Press to go with your mini kit? Mixing it up by adding some traditional SB papers/embellishments this year? This is a project that should inspire you to have fun, break out of the usual boundaries, explore. There are so many goodies on the market once you start looking beyond the DD/cards-in-a-pocket-album offer! I'm participating in the monthly Team Challenge right now and making a 4x5 Christmas mini using only old stash (and I don't have plenty of it) while adapting the daily sketches. It's been way more fun than I'd anticipated!

Thanks for sharing the link nicolep . Does anyone know if DCWV is of good quality? I don't think I have ever bought their products. They are under the AC umbrella since last year so I'd expect the same quality as Crate Paper, Pebbles, Shimelle, Amy Tangerine, etc. But I'd rather someone confirm it if they can!
Here's a video of one of their 2018 releases, quality looks like typical AC (so, definitely not bad but also not lignin-free):

I don't buy from French shops anymore. Items are so overpriced it's ridiculous. I buy from MiTiendaDeArte (and Craftelier, it's French counterpart, still in Spain though), Kimidori and Up&Scrap. They have new releases much faster than in France. They can be expensive (the last two especially) but there are often sales.

What are you in need of for this year's DD, mom ? Has KP's black & white kit lost your interest? I forgot about that kit....so maybe thats an option. I just feel like it all looks the same as past years. And I am bored with it. I have the red Ali album + the PP mini coming. And I *like* both of those, but not sure what else I want to use with it. I won't, of course, but I feel like nothing feels 'fresh' for DD. I'd put it in a box for future Christmases if you don't want to get rid of it. Maybe it'll look better next year. If not, you can't still get rid of it then.

Craftelier pissed me off when they sent me the wrong item and required me to send it back and use the Paypal procedure through which you can get a very limited amount of orders returned for free (meaning I'd use up on of my free returns on something silly like a scrap product) to get reimbursed. It was just a few €, they should've just reimbursed me or offered a coupon in their shop. Haven't been back since.
Love Up&Scrap though. They're so quick and polite (always a little handwritten note, too). Scrapmalin seems to be trying to be more fair with their pricing with current releases, it seems. I'll keep an eye out for how they price Santa's Workshop if they get it in the shop and Merry Days. It'll be interesting to see which direction they go in (especially with the very reasonable 3,5€ shipping fee for Colissimo).

Are the papers a true white? Are the colors oversaturated ? Are the papers glossy? Sorry to bother you, but I'm not sure what to expect, I'd be thankful if you could answer.

Butting in with partial answers: papers are the beautiful Carta Bella pattern paper finish (definitely matte and textured!), colours with CB are actually almost always more toned down than the online mock-ups, I've never had a true white with CB. But looking forward to Ren chiming in with IRL details of the collection.
ETA: Ren Did you see the Carta Bella Christmas line in store? If so, is it as heavy (borderline butter yellow) creamy as it looks in the online mock-ups?

For those in UK area- someone called Blue Puppy Studio followed me in IG so I checked out their store. I don’t know what reasonable prices are in pounds but they stock the simple stories collection and album. bluepuppystudio.uk/

Although now my photo is probably a little too saturated! So hard to get the colour right as my phone makes anything look good! I’m fussy with white and I think it’s good enough! You can see it’s slightly not as white as my white cardstock, but it’s definitely not venturing into cream. I used the back of one of the papers with wood grain so you can see the difference. The paper is slightly textured and heavier than crate paper for example. I love it’s feel.

Ren Thanks so much for the photos! I'm a big Carta Bella fan so I'm very familiar with their pattern paper and their "modern white" which they've been including with the more modern collections since 2017-ish. It's a slightly off-white but close enough to true white so it doesn't clash. Very happy to see your photos confirm they chose that "modern white" tint instead of their usual creamy white.
Several of us had discussed wanting more white and no distressed edges on here last year when Steven Duncan's A Very Merry Christmas collection came out and he popped in here (no, really, stevenduncandesigner is a member). I really appreciate the fact that he might have factored in our comments when some design decisions were made for this year's Christmas line.
I'm so glad I didn't spend on official DD goodies: I've got extra scrappy budget left for Santa's Workshop now. Thank you so much for helping me make up my mind, Ren !

I'm sorry they did this, but I'm also REALLY GLAD you mentioned it, because I'd forgotten all about the Paypal return shipping refund! I signed up for it ages ago and got one refund, then completely forgot that it existed. Thanks to you I'm going to get my $7 back from returning a sweater (I bought 2 sizes because I was $0.05 !! under their free shipping threshold and they had almost nothing under $20 in the shop to get me over the hump. So I got an alternate size knowing it probably wouldn't work to save $7 on shipping, that they then charged me for returning it... still better than the $12 the post office wanted to charge, but FREE is always my preference). Long Live Paypal!

This is awesome! I love DCVW (which I've never even heard of) Blue Noel and White Christmas, and Lawn Fawn's Really Rainbow Christmas is unique and fun. Not that I needed to add anything more to my wishlist that includes MME and the blue Kaisercraft collection.

And looking through Jodi's IG, there's nothing about it either. The only pic popping up on Google Image search is the one from the scrapbookupdate article. How weird. Very Nightmare Before Christmas-ish: the case of the ghost Christmas line! I asked Jodi about the collection and she said she also has one coming out called The Yellow Door which is a fall/Thanksgiving style collection. She said they'll start promoting in the next week or so. As far as I go with DD, I'm stilling trying to figure out. I've decided that if I do it again this year I'm going to have to have a simple and likely repetitive design so that I have a chance of being successful lol. I'm thinking a bit of a freestyle album with several 6x8 photos. I really want navy throughout so I need to go through my holiday papers/collections and see what I have and if I need to fill in anywhere.

I doubt it's good for business (although, luckily, some other major players this year are late with their Christmas collections as well). Will keep an eye out!

I'm going to punch in big pages of pretty pattern paper with title + journaling + occasional memorabilia next to 6x8 photos and such to get the most out of all the beautiful Christmas papers and give myself some space to break out of the page protectors (I'm over the everything-under-a-thin-sheet-of-plastic right now ). Freestyle is best style.

This is what happened with October Afternoon. The lines were previewed but never released on time. Fancy Pants isn't the company that OA was. OA had staff (that they treated very poorly). Fancy Pants is essentially run by a husband and wife team and they've shown pictures of them bribing their kids to help them assemble collection kits and warehouse boxes on social media. They used to have at least one employee. They called him Fancy Pants Dan because he did all of the work with retailers...he may have been the entire sales department for all I know. He was known around ScrapbookSteals because you knew one of their amazing valued kits were coming when he started to hit up social media. He then left to start his own scrapbook company, released 2 or 3 initial collections (the alphas were almost a carbon copy of what Fancy Pants was offering at the time except there were no capital F's...maybe no f's at all, but no capital ones for sure) and then he and his company vanished.
All that being said, they very well could be having money troubles and it's taking them longer to get the funds for an order. With the tariffs that the orange one is causing, we might end up seeing some of the really small scrapbook companies have no choice but to fold because they can't remain competitive. No one is going to buy their USD$2-$3 per sheet of paper with the likes of American Crafts still finding ways to make things cheaper due to the volume discounts they no doubt receive.

The industry definitely goes through ups and downs. That's why we're here! RIP 2peas. We miss you so.
My crate paper came today from ACOT (I preordered) and it is GORGEOUS! I love it so much. I bought a lot of it (well, like 1 piece of most of the paper). I love the glossy alpha and the gold sticker puffy words are great. I also picked up the tag making kit and it's quite a lot for 5$. The cardstock stickers are nice too.
I love that ACOT has a perpetual cart. I just keep adding until they have a sale then I buy. That way I don't have to keep track of what I want. It's just always in there. So that's a good and a bad thing!
I also have been doing DD long enough to know what I'm going to use and not use so I feel like I am shopping smarter. Just cause it's cute doesn't mean I'm going to use it. Unfortunately I'm addicted to numbers...

I had a friend/retailer that told me that Fancy Pants had been in the process of moving their inventory to a new location (I assume new warehouse?) and that had slowed things down with them. I dont think they are going out of business right now - but I do think the slowed market has put the pinch on them somewhat.
