Well I’ve never visited that forum but it sounds like a horrible, judgemental place with admins on a power trip? Sad thing is, it didn't used to be that way. Back in the day, the boards moved wicked fast - if I looked at a post in the morning before work, it might be on page 4 by the time I got home, and people were (in general) pretty nice. The site was started by a Stampin' Up demo for her downline, and it growed and growed! I learned more from that site than anywhere - techniques, what tools to buy, what tools to avoid, what company had a good deal, what companies to avoid. Then they started with the member companies, and it was screwy - if you posted about great customer service by a company that wasn't a member company, it stayed in "General Stamping" where everyone could read it. If you posted about great customer service by a member company, it got moved to their forum, where only the people who followed that company were likely to read it. Why would a company pay for the privilege of having fewer people read customer raves? Then came the admin they have now, and the MISTI - now, there are threads on the first page of general stamping that haven't had a post in 3 days. And there isn't the free sharing of info - both positive and negative - that there used to be, because no one can say anything bad about a company. The terms on the site say no negative posts about a human, but they've already established that negative posts about the MISTI are considered negative posts about Ileana. It's become all MISTI, all the time and it's just not fun to be there anymore. The terms on the site say no negative posts about a human, but they've already established that negative posts about the MISTI are considered negative posts about Ileana. Yes!! I agree completely. I mentioned that in one of the threads, but my post, along with others, was deleted. And we were hand-slapped by the Nice Police.

Yeah the PIF, sometimes a gift grab. I’ve kind of taken to watching for someone who wants to buy something. I PM them and offer to send it for free. Those people have been really nice and it’s helped me get rid of stuff that would be trashed if I sent it to Goodwill. After I sent all my Twinkling H2O’s to one person she sent me a really nice hand bound little book she made. It was kind of heartwarming and unexpected.

Well I’ve never visited that forum but it sounds like a horrible, judgemental place with admins on a power trip? You are making an assumption based on what others have to say and not personal experience. It is not a"horrible, judgemental place". Sometimes they do go overboard on niceness but not that much that I've seen. There is a lot of good useful information there-especially the tools forum
NSBR could be described a "horrible, judgemental place" many times. Handslapping goes on there too.

I didn't know that splitcoast was even a huge social gathering place...before or in the present. I've only found it useful in locating the names of stamp sets that I liked the look of (think Pinterest photos without sources) using keywords in the search feature and sometimes instead of Pinterest when wanting to use specific stamp sets that I needed ideas to get me going.
If anything, this post reinforces how valuable the 2peas forum is. We may not have crazy amounts of traffic in the scrappy section, but we don't censor dissenting opinions. If you can't say 'this company is bad' or at least 'don't buy this product because it sucks and here's why' then it sounds like their funding is coming from craft businesses. If I can't see the good and bad to make a decision about a product and am only allowed to see opinions of praise, it doesn't allow for an informed decision. Any business with integrity would understand you can't please everyone and that a few negative reviews isn't going to harm them much, if at all. If anything, buying something I ended up hating because all I could find was praise for it would do more to turn me off to an entire brand than would finding some negative reviews and buying it anyway, even if I hated it.

In the interest of full disclosure, I'll share a story from a few years back - when there was more activity there and the MISTI wasn't a thing.
One of the ladies there had mounted her "Lovely as a Tree" set and was missing a tiny little pinecone stamp that belonged with the set. She posted wondering if SU had maybe changed the set and gotten rid of that tiny pinecone, or had she accidentally thrown it out. Consensus was she had accidentally thrown it out; she was ok with that. She didn't really know how much she'd use it anyway. I remembered buying a used set from someone at a crop a few years before, and when I went to the gallery for ideas, I saw that I had an extra stamp in there. At the time, I had figured out that it belonged with Lovely As A Tree, but had no idea how to get in touch with the person I bought it from, so I just left it with the set I got it with. It ended up with me sending her the missing stamp, so she had her complete set. Where else could someone from California (I think) ask about a missing stamp and end up with someone from Wisconsin having an extra of that stamp and sending it to her? At the time, the forum was so active that things like that could happen.

Yep you’re right. I was absolutely making an assumption on what I have heard. Shrug. But one thing that is fantastic about this forum is that people aren’t censored and banned for having a different opinion. Debates happen, handslapping happens but the rules of the forum are fair and everyone’s opinions are welcome.

canadianscrappergirl Good for you. You made me laugh. riversong1963 Good for you too. I didn't see the thread. I have a feeling who you are talking about. I am one of her favorite targets. I am like how does she get away with it? Must be the kindness club. I think it's because Lydia & Dini sometimes don't see or think how those things effect their other members. They probably think it rolls off our shoulders. I hope that didn't sound like I am making excuses. Am I the only one that sees it like that? Like they don't understand our feelings get hurt too and maybe they should slap a little harder? No pity party sweetie. You were always one of my favorites. You know I ran into one of your posts the other day and your thread count was out of this world. Now, with Bugga gone the board is going to change. sleepingbooty I think we have a great balance at 2Peas too. I do think our board is positive. I think this board is full of women who are not doormats and washboards. We are not going to rah rah rah over a bunch of stupid crafting products especially when they deserved to be called out. We are not going to rah, rah, rah over crafting stars who also need to be called out. I think that is very positive because we are strong and not going to take fakeness in this industry. I am riled up tonight. I have one of those riled up weeks, lol. On my gaming forums if a publisher releases a sucky game we call them out. We are not going to throw them $60 on their next game until they fix things. This industry you do the same thing and the industry attacks you and makes it feel like your fault. It is the most WTF? scenario's I have ever seen. Sorry, I am not paying $100 so a plate can crack in my hand when I am trying to stamp. Stop asking me to make it work. Fix it! "God Bless" shows weakness to me. You are just hiding behind him and I don't think he likes that too much. I think he can bless me just fine without somebody relaying it for me. Unless, you have angel wings on you I am not taking it seriously. riley I have wondered if they are keeping track too. Why I am not getting attacked? I do get nervous posting over there or even asking a question. I try to be polite and a lady. I have known some of those girls a long, long, long time even before we joined SCS. I know you all know how much I love them. I think this is funny the thread came up. I was watching art stamping videos this week. It reminded me how much I miss the art of stamping. This is not a black mark on SCS. They do get black marks not on this. I was thinking posting over there I forgot how to art stamp? I don't know something has been really lost on that board over the years and I can't figure out what it is. I know it made my stamping different and not in a good way. I need a good art stamping forum. Any recommendations?
