Yes: Ford Winstar - Winston. Chevy Silverado - Buck (the Truck) We just bought a Ford Escape, which doesn't have a name yet. It may not get one. I usually get a feeling for the name within days. Previously Nissan Altima - Carlita. an old light yellow beast of a car - Tweety. I really like Homer for an Odyssey.

I haven’t named my car, but our GPS is called Stella. No real story behind it, I just thought she sounded like a Stella 😃

I’ve only had three cars so far. My first was an 82 Honda hatchback and my dad had it painted forest green for me. It came out too dark and with the window tint being really dark it got the nickname The Gargoyle. My Explorer never got a name. My Tahoe which is for sale right now is The Planet Killa.

I properly loled at Vando Calrissian, please call your van that!
My first two cars were Brian and Colin. My husband called his car Kar (partly because of the reg number but mostly because of KARR, the evil car in Knight Rider)

I'm giving Duchess (2011 Hyundai Sonata) to our oldest DS to take to school in Florida and am picking up our 2015 Nissan Rogue tonight who will now be known as Oscar. We have yet to name our black Subaru Outback. Almost forgot: our car salesman has some cute little white Subaru named Carissa (he's only 21 and a cutie).

yes. they are called Your Car and My Car. when we had the Mini Cooper, I called it the Putt-Putt car. Great minds! We have a My Car, a Your Car and The Truck. (Of course I'm from the family who, growing up, had a bird named Bird, a cat named Kitty, and a dog named Puppy. Our ranch cats were named Mama Kitty, Mama Kitty Jr, Tom, Tommy, Brother and Lil' Brother.)

My current SUV is Bluebell. Her predecessor was a red SUV named Ruby. I have a friend who drives a Mini Cooper named Bradley. Yes, Bradley Cooper. 😂
When DH was in high school, he drove a Plymouth Reliant K car named Beavis. The car was pretty goofy looking so it was a good name!

I’m not usually a vehicle namer. Dh calls his truck cool blue and we did name the jetta. When I drove it after driving the suv and truck, the jetta was zippy, so that’s its name.

I see these threads and I wonder about the region of the Peas who post on them. I'm in So Cal and I have never heard of anyone naming their car, ever.
And we are supposedly known for our car culture out here. Everyone I know myself included just refers to the brand "take the Tahoe" "take the truck", taking my Mercedes to the dealer..etc.
So, is it a regional thing to do this? Or maybe it's everywhere and I just never have known anyone to do that?

Momobile is what I call it. My dad’s car is the Dadilac You just inspired me! I don't really name cars...we've chatted about it for fun. My white diamond tricoat Buick we decided should be Minnie Pearl (because who doesn't love her). My DH whose name is Chad, drives a Cadillac Escalade truck that will now be the CHADILLAC! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Nellie is my white BMW sedan. She is named for a friend who was “classy” personified. She (the person Nellie) celebrated her 50th birthday by going to Paris for the weekend. She was also my son’s AP English teacher, and the best teacher he had in high school. She left us all to soon due to breast cancer. I miss her so much.

My mother always named her cars but I cannot remember any of the names. I also name my cars. The husband rolls his eyes but uses the names I give. He is a good sport.
Porsche Boxster S is Maybelle for no good reason. Porsche 911 Cabriolet is Queenie because it is a garage queen. Porsche Speedster is Speedy because it is the slowest car we have. BMW X1 is my Baby B because it is rather small.

My Kia Soul with bluetooth connectivity is named Hoshi Sato in honor of a Star Trek character who was an early communication officer on the Starship Enterprise. Being able to make a phone call from my car steering wheel seems very future-is-here to me. I remember when all phones were wired into the wall (usually the kitchen) To be able to "fly" down the road at 80 miles an hour while chatting with my child on the other side of the globe just feels very surreal.

I have Greta the Jetta. My old car, now my son’s, was Gigi. My son doesn’t call her that though! Lol
My dd named her white Fusion Priscilla. Seemed like a weird name to me, but it’s not mine.

Dh's current and last vehicle have both been generically but fondly called "the Man-mobile". The old one was a Chevy Suburban and this current one is a GMC Yukon XL, both white so they blur together. My Dodge caravan was somehow dubbed "The War-Pig" a couple of years ago. At first I took offense, but it grew on me. It died a slow and painful death recently & is breathing in fits & gasps in the driveway - when it starts....and I'm having it hauled away ASAP. I can't wait until my new-to-me car earns a moniker. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

Some of our cars have had names. DS first car is a Honda Fit. It's is referred to as Zippy. It goes from 0-60 in about a minute and a half, when it's packed like a sardine can with 4-5 guys ![(rofl)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/rofl.png) I had a Grand AM we called White Death. It was in the shop more than it wasn't, and it was NWT (33 miles) off the lot. DH grandma gave him her '63 Impala when we were in HS. We called her Dirty Girl. It just smelled and felt dirty, no matter how much detailing we did to it.
