I'm sure they will find somewhere else to manufacture. Given their sales numbers and stock increase, they would be stupid to shutter completely.

I LOVE the Cleo style and currently have 9 pairs all in various stages of wear. I may have to stock up.

Men wearing Crocs is grounds for divorce Truth. I'm not fond of making unconditional statements of truth (because I believe we are always capable of change), but I *will* say: I will never wear a pair of Crocs.

I'm sure they will find somewhere else to manufacture. Given their sales numbers and stock increase, they would be stupid to shutter completely. Exactly. It just says they are shutting down their own production facilities. Guessing they will just outsource the factory work to another company and focus on designing and marketing their products. The closing of some stores, while still maintaining a presence doesn’t seem alarming either giving the current decline in B&M stores and that most people don’t buy shoes from a single brand store these days IME. I don’t get why everyone is freaking out and stockpiling shoes like this is the end of the road for them.

they are outsourcing - and closing down a bunch of stores my DH will be devastated - and probably stockpile gina Men wearing Crocs is grounds for divorce The only guys I've ever seen wearing Crocs have been working on the boats in the Marina. That's the first time I was introduced to them years ago.
I have a couple of the lined pairs I use for slippers in the winter. I have another pair that are my beach shoes. I used to wear them but then found Sketchers spa flip flops that I love and live in when it's warm out.

Men wearing Crocs is grounds for divorce Ha! I can't imagine my husband in them. He owns 1 pair winter boots, 1 pair summer boots, 1 pair dress shoes and 1 pair dad shoes (New Balance white sneakers). The dress shoes and sneakers will last at least another 20 years, if he has any say on the matter. 99% of the time he has his work boots on. I am pretty sure the man has never even tried a pair of sandels or flip flops on in his life.

It says they are shutting down the manufacturing but they are going to have a new CEO? And they still have physical stores? I don't get it--if you close all the factories, seems that there won't be any shoes in the pipeline to stock stores.
It says right in the article "The company said it plans to completely outsource production."

the thingamajigs to decorate your Crocs are called Jibbitz- here's the link. crocs.com/jibbitzwe were on vacation in Wisconsin (from Arizona), and it was raining a lot, which is why I wanted the Crocs, I think-- I bought a few jibbitz in the shoe store that 'matched' the theme- a lizard for Arizona, an umbrella because of the rain, a duck (we had just taken the Wisconsin Ducks tour of WI Dells), etc. maybe I can't donate them to Goodwill after all since they're kind of a 'scrapbook' of that particular trip, lol. (a PSA: they are NOT cactus-safe shoes- I'm pretty sure I've had a couple cactus spines go right through the soles.)

I may have to buy a pair of backups just in case - I love them and wear them around the house all the time - I love how much cushion they have vs other shoes and that they are quick and easy to get on and off.

I have several pairs of Croc flip flops. I put them on every single time my feet hit the floor when I am in the house. I have way too many areas of pain on my body, and these flip flops guarantee that at least one area, the soles of my feet, will not be in agony. I do have a couple of the original style with the holes in the sides and only wear those to work in the yard. They are just not my style, but I I keep them because I don’t want to take a chance of damaging my “good” flip flops by working in those.
I probably have enough flip flops to last me a number of years because they really do not seem to wear out. I haven’t looked at any other style though. I wear other types of shoes to do my shopping or to meet friends. I guess if I found a Croc that would look cute, I would try it. I just don’t get the hate towards them. Don’t like them? Don’t buy them. Why be so verbally aggressive about them?

He wears them for mucking around in the garden, and in the pond area. They are great for him. His are camo crocs too. They stay outside the back door, and he puts them on when he goes out there. I have two pair, a Pink pair and a blue pair. I have to wear them in the shower because I can't stand the hard surfaces. (doctor orders) It makes my feet hurt too much. I can't go barefoot anymore either--so sad!! They have been a real God-send for me.

I thought that too but some of the newer styles really aren’t bad. I’d like to get a second pair of the mules I have but they’re so dang expensive for plastic shoes!

Thanks for posting this. I ordered multiples of the pairs we wear the most. I figure better safe than sorry. And I know they will get used so even if this is a false alarm, I won't be disappointed.

I ordered 3 pairs of the Mary Jane style I like. I have no shame. In the summer they are pretty much all I wear, I am outside a lot at work and on my feet nearly all day, they are the only shoes that my feet don’t get blisters in from that much wear. I have very narrow feet and shoes that are comfy for all day wear are way more expensive then I want to pay. The ones I wear are the Karin crocs and they are damned hard to find, they switched to another Mary Jane style that are not nearly as comfortable for some reason,I don’t want them to become even harder to find if they shut down manufacturing or change in any way.

Crocs CFO is resigning end of the month and current Zappos CFO is replacing her. The two manufacturing facilities are closing, but that doesn't means Crocs aren't being made anymore. They've outsourced to other manufacturing facilities, and this news just means that Crocs doesn't have the overhead of the facilities anymore. I've had people texting, IMing, emailing, and tagging me about this all day. They know I practically live in Crocs - currently these: I started wearing these last summer. They don’t look “croc”y and are good for my feet. They have great support. I almost wore mine yesterday - DD and I spent the day in NYC - but I felt they were a little loose. I was thinking I need another pair.

Those are my current faves, too! Got them a few weeks ago and I love them. I live in Crocs flip flops and sandals at least eight months a year. Hoping their reorganization will ensure longevity!
