I like the adjustable bracelets like Gennifer posted. I bought the Kendra Scott Gilly bracelet.
I also found leopard loafers that fit my high instep. Dr Scholls brand. I got them from shoes.com. They were on sale plus 25% off and 12 percent back from Ebates - quite inexpensive.
I’ve been having fun ordering everything. Im going to have to sort through everything one it all arrive and figure out what to keep.

Anyone here tried the H&M skinny jeans? The old navy olive ones were a bust for me 👎🏻 I have never bought from H&M before... how do they run (usually wear Gap, Loft, etc) and how is the quality? There is a sale and free shipping on jeans so thinking about giving those a shot.

I'm not planning on joining GYPO, but I've been following these threads for quite a while and I reallllly enjoy seeing the cute outifts all of you put together! Also, the stories of hunting for certain items is always fun, too. I have also learned several new fashion words from all of you---Thanks! I had to google challis, chambray, and moto. cmpeter ---- I love all yours (and everyone elses!) outifts this summer. I am SERIOUSLY jealous of how tiny you are, and cute and YOUTHFUL your face is !!!! You have the kind of face that I'll bet looks GREAT without makeup---that is something I have ALWAYS coveted! I have the kind of face that TRULY *needs* makeup, or I look sick....for realz! (p.s. I promise I'm not a weirdo who's STALKING you.....LOL!) johnnysmom ---I LOVE that black floral top you posted from Old Navy. I like that it's unique with the flowers only being at the bottom; I've never seen a top like that. I'm a chubby gal, so it MIGHT make me look pregnant, but I might order it and return it if it doesn't look good. For those of you still hunting for a floral top, I thought I'd share this one with ya. From Walmart, only $13.97, it comes in size small to 2X, annnnd, besides being GORGEOUS (well, at least to me!) it is also very SOFT! I love it SO much, I went back to buy one for my best friend's birthday. ( mom ....I'm getting ready to go check the "Fall Clothes and Shoes" thread to see if you went and tried on and/or got this top yet) Random compliments are the best thing ever! I've gotten into the habit of telling strangers when I like what they are wearing - it drives my sons crazy but it has always been well-received. When I see a stranger in a pretty outfit, shoes, hairstyle, makeup, etc. that really strikes me, I like to compliment them. I've been the recipient also, and it is a nice little boost I've also always been fascinated by faces. Funny story---I was at the drive-thru at 'Jack-in-the-Box' and the cashier was a teenage/ young 20's young man with the kind of AWESOME face that seriously could be a model. I wanted to tell him, but I felt weird---as if he'd think I was a cougar...LOL! So I said "honestly, you have such a NICE face, you could be a model.....THEN, I said "Oh, and by the way, I don't mean that in a weird or flirty way!" He laughed and said thank you, I had made his day.

Question: I bought both of these skinny jeans in July, but the colors seemed more fallish, so I haven’t worn either yet. Both work with my capsule colors, but I’m still unsure. The distressing on the mauve ones hits me at the knee, not above, so it reminds me of when I was a kid and wore out my jeans. And the teal pair is a gorgeous color, but is it too much? Obviously I can’t wear them with the teal top, but I could with the other ones. Would you keep or return? I really like the teal ones -- they should look great with that long-sleeved floral shirt from ON that you posted earlier. I'd keep them. I'm not a distressed jeans kind of gal, so not the right person to ask about those. But I love the color.

Here are a few things I received in the mail today: Some “olive” colored skinny jeans that are lightweight and feel great on. I think they’ll be perfect for the warm fall weather we usually have here. I know a lot of people don’t like the frayed hems that are everywhere right now, but I’m a fan: “Autumn Sage” skinny jeans
I have a love of striped tops, and I think this one will be a great addition to my collection. It’s super soft, and is a cross between a tee and a sweater: Striped dolman tee
This is a cute and comfortable floral top. It does, for Loft, fit a bit small: Floral top

I have those same jeans on the way. I’m hoping the green is a bit more gray-toned than my current olive jeans, which seem very yellow-toned to me. What do you think? More gray-green?

So here's an aspect that I am trying to figure out since this is my first time: When I layer with a cardigan or a blazer, I have to wear a short-sleeved or sleeveless top underneath. My arms are fat and I just can't fit a long-sleeved top under another long-sleeved piece. But I assume there will be days when the long-sleeved tops will be styled on their own, and I do not wear sleeveless tops ever and I don't like to wear short-sleeved tops alone in the Fall/Winter because my arms get too cold. So I am thinking I am going to have to buy doubles of each color of long-sleeved top--one in short sleeve, one in long sleeve? I usually end up buying doubles for this reason. It’s not ideal.

I had the same problem that you describe with the mauve jeans with my Old Navy gray jeans. The distressed opening was slightly below my knee and it made them bunch up in a weird way. Very unflattering. They ended up in the Goodwill pile.

I wouldn’t order H&M jeans online, I am consistently between a 4 and 6 at most stores and at H&M depending on the style I can be anywhere from a 12 to a 16. I hate shopping for pants at H&M because it is so inconsistent.

I do think they are more of a gray-green. They aren’t that vibrant olive green tone that you see on a lot of utility vests and jackets.

I love them on other people but feel a little strange wearing them myself. That’s my own issue, I know. They also would fit better if I lost a few lbs.... Anyway, I liked the teal because I thought it was a subtle color. So I don’t think they are too much. . I would keep them.

Could you buy a cardigan a size or two up, and have a seamstress take it in a touch? I had shorts hemmed this summer for only $10 (California), so I imagine a cardigan would be easy and similar price.

I have been shopping a lot lately. I've spent the last 8 years in some state of pregnancy or on some hormonal intervention to help me get or stay pregnant. I am heavier than I have ever been, and, at 4'11", every extra pound shows. We went on vacation last month, and my wonderful husband sat me down and told me he wanted me to buy myself some new clothes. Clothes that fits right instead of the "giant, oversize" stuff I wear now. Clothes that made me feel good NOW. Not when I lose 50 pounds. NOW. He told me he was tired of me hiding behind huge clothes - he thinks I am beautiful and sexy and he wants to see me. So, of course, I cried. A lot. Because how wonderful is my husband? And then, I burnt up the credit card I have probably bought and returned more clothes in the last month than ever in my life. I'm focusing on buying good quality stuff that makes me feel good. I actually own a lot of the staples being discussed here, but I think I might sign up. Because, you know. I need more excuses to buy clothes and shoes.

The only day I see that a long sleeve top is styled on it's own is on Day 3...when the burgundy top is styled with the olive jeans. For every other day, there is a jacket or cardigan included. There is one exception, a day where she has the striped top paired with the chambray top.
But, you'll see lots of folks making subs based on weather and what plans they have for the day. So, just because she doesn't pair a jacket or cardigan with the top on day 3, doesn't mean you can't. Likewise, if she suggests a jacket/cardigan you could defiantly just wear the top with out the extra layer.

I just bought those teal jeans from Maurices too! I am not having any luck finding a teal top. I figure on teal top days, I'll flip the prompt and wear teal on the bottom. I did buy a teal tank (also from Maurices) and I might give that a try...depends on our weather though. I found both at the Maurices Outlet store.
That is very sweet of you...just made my day/week! I'm so not tiny (size 14). I've been working on my skin a ton over the past 1 1/2 years. Started following all the Angie/Hot & Flashy advice for morning and evening skincare. It's made a huge difference...although it's still very rare that I go outside the house without make up on. I love make up.

Your husband is awesome! What a keeper. It reminds me of the advice that I read on Adore Your Wardrobe (I think that's where I read it)...they said to dress for the body you have now. Don't put it off and wait to dress for the body you hope you have later.

cmpeter I got this sweater in a deep teal if you're looking for ideas. The cut is really flattering. It's thin and fine-knit, sorta like the green sweater from spring. Hoping it's not too warm as a layer because I love it!

I know I read it on this thread (but can't seem to find it on my re-read), but when does the shopping list for the Fall Work Capsule come out? I did both, and am hoping to mix and match....does anyone else do this? I've only done one challenge. And I bought the work wear. If I'm remembering correctly the work wear came out a week later (eek! my memory is so bad!) So I'm hoping for tomorrow because I can't wait any longer! Yes, I switch it up all the time. My office is a bit casual some days, so today I'm wearing an outfit from the summer challenge modified for the office a bit. And there were some pieces in the work wear that were too fancy for my office so I have to dress those down a bit. I'm happy to see the dress it up/dress it down suggestions on the calendar this time!

Just FYI I went to j crew factory website to see where my order is. I think I’ve figured out that scam because in doing so, I saw a whole bunch more stuff I want now! But I made my way to the where’s my stuff page and there’s a button that says “Get Help”. Ladies, don’t fall for this either. It is not a 12 Step program to not spend more money there. That’s the help I need.

I keep reading and re-reading this thread. I want to join but idk. I have gained a lot of weight and don't know if I will be able to shop my closet at all. Part of me would love to empty my closet and throw it all out; my skinny clothes I am saving just in case, my fat clothes that hide my body, all my old stuff that is sentimental but I will never wear...and just start over. But the expense and the thought of it all scares me.

But the expense and the thought of it all scares me. I completely understand! I thought I had to buy a lot too when I first started. If you've got some clothes that fit you now, GYPO will help you style them to still look fashionable. Maybe use your existing pieces as a base and add a few items to your stash (vests, cardigans, necklaces). You don't have to follow the prompt every day. Just do the ones you have pieces for. Also, thrift shop. Nothing wrong with it at all. I've noticed lots of people on GYPO posting their great finds and deals. Try Goodwill, missions, 2nd-hand shops. Even Plato's Closet has a sister store in many locations (called Style Encore) that is for the generation older than teens And GYPO has a 7-day refund policy too. Try it for a bit and see if you like. If not, ask for a refund. Nothing lost. I'm including my affiliate link in case you want to give it a try. If you choose not to use it, that's fine too Pam

Get in there and see what you have that you feel good in. Then figure out what to add. Anything not flattering goes out!
