Here is the sketch challenge for September 12. I found this sketch through Scrapbook Generation's CREATE magazine, the March 2015 Create issue. I loved all of the elements to the sketch and thought I'd try a one pager. (That link takes you to the website so you can download the PDF if you'd like. It is free.) 21Capture by Penny{scraps}, on Flickr Here is my sample of it. This is a layout about one of our favorite restaurants. I grabbed the drink coaster one night and saved it for a layout I knew I'd eventually make. [/url] by Penny{scraps}, on Flickr And the TWIST: For day 12, your twist will be to include ephemera or a piece of memorabilia somewhere. {Mine is the drink coaster from the restaurant.} Please link your take on this sketch with or without the twist in this thread. Can't wait to see what you come up with! If you are a September Team player, check out how you can earn points for this in the September Team Challenges. If you are not a team member, that's fine, too. Just join in for the fun of it! Because SKETCHember only comes once a year!

This is a really versatile sketch, pennyscraps! Love your take on it: I am a big fan of those colours, and great idea to put the poster on as a page element!

Ooh, I think I know which photos I want to use for this one! Thanks for the idea! I was struggling with what to do with them. I love the papers you used on your layout, and the stitching really finishes it off

I am really not happy with this LO, it didn't work how I wanted and just went wrong, I'm sure you guys all get it, it happens! I'm just posting it cause I want the points and I definitely want the 50 bonus points for doing all the sketches! The memorabilia is the Tube Map cause Mum and I were on the tube going to Wimbledon (for the men's final last year!). Amazingly I am taking 20 for this. I added it up and was surprised I met that many challenges! 1 for a LO, 1 for sharing, 5 for sketch + twist, #2, #3, #7, #9, #21, #22, #31, #33, #37, #40, #42, #49 and Sept Stash Challenge - handwriting.

I am really not happy with this LO, it didn't work how I wanted and just went wrong, I'm sure you guys all get it, it happens! I totally get that feeling but I actually quite like this page. I really like the yellow background and the tube map used as patterned paper and all the clusters. Linda the green in your background paper is the perfect match for her costume. I love how you've balance it with the additional green and orange papers.

Just join in for the fun of it! Because SKETCHember only comes once a year! I think it should be Sketchember every month - it's been a wonderful inspiration to get me scrapping again! This is my take on the sketch. I used the Vintage Carnival kit by Cathy K Designs:

kiwigirl - I totally get what you mean about layouts not quite hitting the mark, but I'm not sure why you feel that way about this one - I love the colours and ephemera! Plus, I'm just a teeeeeeeeny bit jealous you got to go to Wimbledon... linda - love how the strips pull the eye straight to your photo AussieMeg - WOW what awesome colours and embellies you picked, that layout couldn't be more perfect for your photo!

Love the black with the yellow, kiwigirl. Great idea to use the map. If I had thought fast enough before I cemented my photo and title down, I could have tucked in a map of the resort we were in. That black matting is really dynamic, Linda. Love that jackolantern tag. Glad you are enjoying Sketchtember, AussieMeg and getting your scrap on! Awesome page. Love the soft colours with the amusement park rides. Here is mine. It will be the August page in the 2019 family calendar. I have the tag, the flowers, a tiny bit of memorabilia (a label punched from the corner of our resort map). Claiming 5 points. Will count up my other points when I get over to the sharing thread. aUGUST 19 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

I love seeing the memorabilia on these pages! It adds so much to the stories! On this one, I flipped the sketch and put the vertical strip on the right because it made more sense with the orientation of my photos, and I had to shuffle some things to make room for the program cover. Thanks for the ideas pennyscraps!

Just got around to this fun sketch. As always, I had to simplify quite a bit for my mini format. I also stretched the square out to a rectangle so there would be enough space for two photos. This is about my mother living a 10-minute ride from an IKEA store and our yearly habit of checking out their 'Vinter' products ("Oooh, look, they're doing those Tomte gnomes again this year!").
Twist: that little IKEA tag is just a place holder for the actual IKEA tag of a Christmas ornament/decoration my mother will certainly purchase from their Vinter 2018 collection when it's launched. But I wanted to pick up the extra points for my team so I placed another one in the meantime.

my memorabilia is old clothing tags i saved from clothes my daughter wore around the age of the photo ETA: i just wanted to mention (not that anyone cares) that my daughter's initials are KID, so i often put that on her pages. but i'm not putting a random word "kid" on there pure girl by sadkid, on Flickr

Thanks all for the kind compliments. I love me a good sketch, and I'm glad that some of you enjoyed it, too! kiwigirl, love your layout! That bright background is perfect and the tube map as your background/phoot mat is stellar! The row of tickets ground it all, and the clusters work perfectly to balance it all off. I'm sorry you're not quite happy with it - I LOVE IT!! linda, what a fun layout! The jack-o-lantern paper is so fun and I love how you bring one onto the tag for repetition. Cute, cute layout about a darling elf who I'm sure is long past the fun trick-or-treat days. Isn't it fun to go back and relive some of those wonder years? Awesome LO! AussieMeg, so much to love about this! Your LO is digi, yes? I adore that DIGI LO's are now seeming SO REAL!! I love the party colors, the fun photos, the clusters - and that pennant banner at the top is perfect! Wonderful LO!! grammadee, your LO is perfection! That background paper sets the beachy tone, and that palm tree sticker is the perfect finale touch to your cluster. How clever to make a punch out of memorabilia! Those sunglasses on the A? Adorable! Beautiful LO! msliz, how clever to flip the sketch! That background paper is delicision and I love that your dominant photo is the show title logo. Wonderful job on documenting this story! That teal clip is so cute!! Fantastic LO! sleepingbooty, what an adorable format! That tree on the car top paper is adorable! Love your concept on the album, and the Vinter product story with your mom. THIS IS WHY WE SCRAP!! Awesome job! stinkerbelle, I love ALL. THE. THINGS. All of those clothing tags make the perfect cluster!! The photo of your DD is adorable, and your LO shows how much you love her. Beautiful LO, and such a great way to showcase her.

What a stunning LO Chinagirl828! I love that background paper, so perfect for the photo and I love all the beautiful touches, the lace, the great title, the touch of vellum behind, it's all stunning. I wish I could scrap like you! I know I could copy this LO quite closely cause I have a lot of similar stuff but I know if I tried, it would look nothing like this! I might challenge myself to do it one day too

kiwigirl your LO is fabulous! I love the map, so perfect, and all the little travel icons just go so well! I really like all the pops of black and your combo of patterns in the strips makes my pattern happy heart go pitter pat! Linda what a great photo! Love the fun pumpkin tag and multiple photo mats! AussieMeg your page is beautiful! I love all the soft colors (most carnival themed items are so bright and primary colored) and textures! sleepingbooty again, I can’t remember if I commented on the ikea spread yet or not, but I love it! The paper is so perfect for a shopping expedition and I love the little tag. You must have a ton of those SC alphas to be able to keep making so many titles
