Happy Friday again! I have another Shimelle sketch for you today and a sample. I promise it started out as the sketch! But it wandered a bit along the way! Here is today's sketch...
The twist for Today is to be inspired by Summer! Summer photos, Summer colors, anything that reminds you of Summer! Be sure to share. This sketch would be great for the 6X6 paper pad challenge or scraps challenge if you are playing the monthly team game. Here is my layout.

I really appreciate how you used the sketch as a jumping off point and didn't feel like you had to restrict yourself to (for example) the angles of the 6x6 papers behind the photos. After seeing your example, I feel a lot freer to approach the challenge (I was a little intimidated at first! ), and I've already chosen my photos.
I love your layout, by the way. For me, it's the sunshiney yellow and the ice cream truck. And all the doodads you sprinkled on. Really nice!

Awesome sketch but even more awesome layout! I love the colors and clusters. One day I’m going to learn to embellish/ cluster like a pro like you!

This is one of those sketches that can be quite simple or very detailed. No idea what I'll do yet... I absolutely love your example though As msliz said, very ice cream van and seaside-y and full of details. It's lovely

DawnMcD another fun sketch; thanks! I LOVE your take on it! Everything is just so cohesive and perfect for the theme of the page and it’s just pretty I really love the way you mounted the photos on the kraft color; don’t know why that stands out to me but it’s actually one of my favorite parts of your LO! I like how you added the journaling at the bottom with the little cluster too.

Yay, I love the more liberated approach you took to interpret the sketch you posted, DawnMcD! That yellow is such a bright, happy shade. No doubts about it: it's definitely summery. The more muted tones break up the vibrant colours of the background paper and photos and create a nice soft transition. I really like the energy in your clustering as well. Beautifully done!
I got inspired by that sunny yellow and decided to tackle this sketch for the December 2018 mini album/Christmas gift with the idea of picking the basic papers from summer lines for the twist (being in the Northern Hemisphere, I did stick to Christmas-related chipboard embellishments). I chose background papers from summer lines (Blossom by Maggie Holmes and the May 2017 Scrapbook kit from Studio Calico) and a vellum transparency from the May 2018 Scrapbook kit from Studio Calico. I accentuated the summer tones with the big pops of extra yellow from the emoji stickers. I hope that's enough to meet the twist requirement! *crosses fingers*

No twist for me - I couldn't figure out how to mix Halloween and Summer. And I had to adapt it a bit as well.

sleepingbooty love the use of the emojis for the naughty/nice! Linda I love your super clean take on this, especially the black strip under the photos which grounds the design beautifully.

Just finished this one and yeah, I couldn't make the diamonds work for me. I tried many sheets of 6x6 paper but none of them looked right. So I went for a band of paper across the middle instead. And these colours are summery to me I am taking a point for the work challenge because I did add journalling on the left hand side saying 'I was trying to work' but I clearly photographed before I did that and I'm too lazy to walk back out to my craft room and photo again! I may get around to it later, sorry! Taking 28 for this. 1 for a LO, 1 for sharing, 5 for a sketch + twist, #3, #4, #7, #9, #12 + BONUS, #15, #17, #21, #22, #26, #32, #37, #38, #40, #42, #44 and Sept Stash Challenge - handwriting and pre-made title (for the record). I can't believe I've got 28 points for this, there's hardly anything on it!

Turned this one on the side and only used 2 pics...slowly working my way through all these wedding pics with a little help from the pea sketches. Love using my 6x6 papers...usually forget to try them.

kiwigirl I have one of those cats too. If she's not sitting in the middle of my page then she's trying to steal my chair. I love the happy colours and how you've framed the photo with the little embellished frames. @elaynef I love how this looks flipped sideways and I like that you've reduced the background papers to two to match your photos. The colours are lovely as well.

I've taken a bit of liberty with the twist - I bought this kit for the summery colours... and the cats. But mainly the colours, which remind me of summer. Did I mention it's summery? The two cats belonged to my MIL; I don't have photos of my two cats. They were twins, white with brown markings and lovely; I miss having a cat sometimes, which is why I bought the kit I think. It's Smart Cat by Mari Koeglenberg at The Digital Press. The font is KL Gingerbread.

MDscrapaholic love your page! The photos are all so fun and I love that you added the text in there, plus that awesome nuvo border and huge title. Great use of the sketch!! @elaynef your version is great, love how you turned the sketch on its side. I love the bright colored papers and embellishment you used atop the watery beach paper, great contrast! kiwigirl your page is just so cute! first of all, mr. sassy pants is like the cutest cat ever, I especially love how he looks totally perturbed in the photo the kitty embellies are all adorable, wish I had gotten some of those cat veneers once upon a time. I love the fun diecut cards you used and the multicolor paper and that nuvo border! Love! Really great take on the sketch Linda I love how you switched things up a bit to make them work for you. Very fun photos and I love the papers you used! That Halloween kit just keeps going and going
