It’s clear the over moderated one is trying to make money based on affiliate links. I imagine they want folks to post things like “help, how do I organize XyZ” and then they chime in with an affiliate link. Folks click and buy and admins make some money.
If you post something you make yourself, the admins can’t post a link for you to buy that item...so no money for them.
I requested to join the new group.

Thanks everyone. Seems I’ve been completely banned from even seeing the old group now. When I go to the link it says it doesn’t exist. I must have really twisted their knickers. All I did (at first) was ask why the post was removed.

![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/thumbnailer/jagnswnnFiViTIburdfE.png) Someone needs do some explaining. I posted this on July 24th to that group. Now there are no googly eyes, but if we are calling pasting a googly eye onto a plastic box bragging, then isn't this bragging by putting my stuff on magnets? If you go to the original group and just click on look at groups' recent posted pictures, about half of what you see is technically bragging. Must be missing something.

The admin at the crazy group posted this about two hours ago: "For those of you who feel that admins are being unfair, unkind and downright mean and very picky, please understand that you don't know what goes on behind the scenes. You don't know about conversations in private where we ask people kindly, gently and respectfully to ... for example ... provide more details on how they are using something to organize rather than just show us a picture of something they made. When such requests are met with anger and hostility, we try to calm the waters so to speak, but if people are unreasonable, we feel that we want to spare members from this type of attitude and we take the appropriate action. Before you jump down our throats, remember that you don't have the full story. Oh, and no, we don't favour posts showing beautiful, expensive craft rooms over rooms organized with things you make or reasonable items. There are plenty of all types of organization tools."
Whatever.

I saw the google eye post but didn’t see the drama that blew up. That group does seem overmoderated. I’ll send a request for the new group, thanks!

Whatever. Yeah, that doesn't jive with my experience there at all. Not to mention when someone was asking for ideas for small spaces when they had some family issues (I believe they lost their craft room because there was some issue where they had to take in a grandkid or two) and were told that wasn't the group for "woe is me" posts. Really sensitive and supportive there.

Whatever. What further details could possibly be required for the “googly eye storage” in order to clarify how it’s used for organization?!?! There were googly eyes. They need to be stored somewhere. This person put the googly eyes in a plastic bin. Then to identify what was inside they stuck one single googly eye on the outside of the bin. In my opinion, the picture couldn’t of been more clear or concise in regards to the purpose and benefit of the bins. 🤔 Before seeing the photo, I was expecting something totally handmade, like a custom designed and constructed box, not a single googly eye stuck to the outside of a plastic bin. Using this criteria, I must be the biggest braggart on the planet in regards to all my “handmade” storage. All the store-bought boxes in my craft room have masking tape labels on them with my own handwriting (gasp) on them to identify what’s inside.

I follow that group too. The moderators are so inconsistent. I joined when I moved into this house 4 months ago, thinking I’d get good ideas for my new space, but I just go for entertainment really.

ETA: The googly eyes are the first post on the new group!

I requested to join the new group and I've very happy it's been started. Thanks so much for the warning about the old group. I love organizing my craft supplies. The "mean" group sounds like an impossible group to be part of and I'm thankful you've saved me from the stress and frustration of being part of it.
Sometimes when people get a tiny bit of power in their hands it goes right to their heads. And truly not in a good way. Maybe this is a case of that.

I have been a member of the old group for years. I have seen a little drama, but mostly someone will be rude and then poof they are gone. There are 63,000 members, so I imagine people can get rude or break rules quite often. That is a lot of people.

I asked to join the new group. And I like how the googlie eyes are stored. Great idea. I throw all of the sizes together. This would be much easier to have them sorted by size.

950nancy that's pretty cool... how do u have those dies sticking?? The frame is a mirror from Target $5.99 and I glued on sheets of magnets to the glass on the front. The sheets of magnets are actually vent covers fromHome Depot. They come in a plastic bag and the sheet is 8 x 15 inches. Three in a pack and it takes two packs to do one mirror, so the final cost per mirror is about $16. Way cheaper than purchased storage. The dies are magnetic and stick really well to the mirror. I know have four of them and they stack standing up on the floor beside the closet. All four stack together about and inch and half to two inches wide.

I just left another group called Sewing Room Ideas. I posted asking about zipper storage and my post was deleted. I asked why and was told it didn't have anything to do with sewing rooms. I don't know about others but I actually use and store my zippers IN my sewing room. So anyway I left. I honestly think some people get off on using their fb powers. ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/laugh.jpg.gif)

I mean, if where to store zippers has nothing to do with a sewing room, they must be installing them with some other method. Staples, maybe?

According to the group description it should include zipper storage. Sewing Room Ideas is only for Organizing & Decorating the Creative Spaces. Additionally, our group is monitored for compliance to set Group Rules.
