Prayers being said. It sounds like the winds are high, too. Just horrible.

Thank you ladies. California is so dry, and so vulnerable to forest fires right now. It's tinder-dry out there.

Praying for all those in danger. We went through an evacuation scenario a little over a year ago. It was a traumatic experience and I feel for all those going through this. Praying no homes are lost and everyone remains safe.

How awful. I work with a vendor that lost everything in the last Paradise fire. Everyone must be so worried.

Now there is another one in Ventura, and they have evacuated a lot of people. San Diego is under a red flag warning too. Santa Ana winds have picked up making it an even more dangerous situation. Many homes and possibly lives have been lost in the Paradise fire it is reported. There have been some very scary videos of people trying to escape the Paradise fire. Thank you so much for praying for everybody!!

Praying. I live in CA wildfire country too... it's year round fire season now... our new normal. Photos from Paradise in the link you posted are horrifying and so very sad. And the poor people of Thousand Oaks/ Camarillo area in Ventura county, with wildfire now on top of the shooting massacre last night.

Wow, that sounds like a bad combination, fire and high winds sure don’t mix. Prayers that everyone gets out of the area safely.

Lots of prayers for California. I have a former student who fosters a LOT of dogs and is trying to get them into temporary situations while they prep for possible evacuation.

Oh my, I'll certainly keep them in my prayers too. It's such a sad thing. I talked with my husband this morning and asked him if we should make a list of stuff to take out in an emergency. (we're not in the fire areas right now). His first thoughts were all my scrapbooks, the computers, and the dog--and food for the dog. I added "medicine" to the list. My daughter lives in the San Diego area, where they've had lots of fires in the past. I talked to her this morning. She usually gets freaked out every fire season (with good cause), but she's doing ok today so far. No fires in that area yet.

I'm heartbroken for California.... between the Thousand Oaks murders and the fires.... prayers for the whole state, especially all involved in these tragedies.

I also an aunt and uncle in Paradise and they lost their home last night. Right now they have one car, the cat, the computer, and a suitcase each. They are safe but in shock.

I know someone who lives there. They got out, but didn't have time to find the cat. No word on whether their house is standing or not.

Still awaiting word on my friends, and my neighbors haven't heard from her uncle yet either. Her mom made it out though, but they don't know if their home made it.
