I know, it's an odd and low number. And, it needs to be easy to get underway. By the time we get to a board game there is typically a little wine on board Would love to hear your recommendations. Thanks!

Not a board game but Banangrams is pretty fun and lots more fun after a few drinks and adding some of your own rules.

We've been loving Tenzi (dice game) and Sushi Go and Uno (card games), but if those weren't possible, Ticket to Ride is fun, and so is Pandemic.

Three is such a hard number isn't it? We like Blokus, Sequence and Yahtzee.

Ticket to Ride, Sheriff of Nottingham can be played with 3, the Sabbac not sabbac game they came out with for the Han Solo movie is fun, but fast and has the added bonus of being ok for younger kids should that need arise.

King of Tokyo or Sheriff of Nottingham. I also like Gloom (it's a story-telling card game) but my kids hate it. If your adults are serious and don't like dark humor don't pick Gloom.

Thank you. I'm off to google some of these. I have all the classics...Sequence, Monopoly, Scrabble, Life, Sorry, Clue, Uno, Yahztee. However some of these I've never heard of. Keep 'em coming and thanks again

Mexican Train Dominoes. You can buy it at Target for about $30. DH, DS and I play it and it's fun!

they just released new adult versions of Sorry, Life, Operation and one more. They look hysterical! I saw them at target. Might be worth looking into.

Monopoly. I'm a conventional board games fan and when I did go home for the holidays monopoly on Christmas Eve was our thing. Well in to adulthood.
Pictionary gets honorable mention.

Whatever you do, don't bring Monopoly to the table over Christmas at our house. It's a very bad idea.
We're into Jungle Speed during the holidays. The game has a simplified approach for only 3 players but it's definitely more for the millenial adult crowd. A few rounds and we're done (a round lasts around 15 minutes). It's a reactivity game so paired with all the Christmas booze, things tend to get extra funny and silly, especially with mixing up symbols that look alike.

We really like pandemic because it's good to play with low numbers - 2 or 3 people. We didn't find it dragging on.

Mexican Train Dominoes. You can buy it at Target for about $30. DH, DS and I play it and it's fun! This is my family’s favorite also. And it would be fun with just 3 players. Not easy to get the hang of, but whenever we are with children plus grandchildren, this is our game of choice.

Three is such a hard number isn't it? We like Blokus, Sequence and Yahtzee. I second these. I also love Rumikub although it's technically not a board game. Other games we love are Qwixx (dice) and Five Crowns (cards).

For a board game, Upwords. For electronic - have you ever played any games on Jackbox? We have this party pack Jackbox Party Pack 3. You need a smart TV (or connect TV to computer) and each person needs a smart phone to use. Trivia Murder Party and the Tshirt Battle are faves - so much fun for a small or bigger group.

This made me laugh. Never played it, but I imagined it was just like Oregon Trail from the 90's. You have died from dysentery.
