I think there needs to be some kind of test or rules to be put in place that a person must pass to become president. Checking even the most basic human skills, such as etiquette, basic knowledge of diplomacy, formal speaking...etc. Almost all "regular" jobs require it. Why can any anyone become president with such a limited skill set?

linkBroken record “And yet another example not only how trump is #MAGA but also looking out for the little guy”. Buzzfeed... “Trump on Coming Debt Crisis: ‘I Won’t Be Here’ When It Blows Up”From the article. ”The president thinks the balancing of the nation’s books is going to, ultimately, be a future president’s problem. Since the 2016 presidential campaign, Donald Trump’s aides and advisers have tried to convince him of the importance of tackling the national debt. Sources close to the president say he has repeatedly shrugged it off, implying that he doesn’t have to worry about the money owed to America’s creditors—currently about $21 trillion—because he won’t be around to shoulder the blame when it becomes even more untenable. The friction came to a head in early 2017 when senior officials offered Trump charts and graphics laying out the numbers and showing a “hockey stick” spike in the national debt in the not-too-distant future. In response, Trump noted that the data suggested the debt would reach a critical mass only after his possible second term in office.
Yeah, but I won’t be here,” the president bluntly said, according to a source who was in the room when Trump made this comment during discussions on the debt.”
This should shock exactly nobody. It’s his business MO.

He makes me so very sick....he is just so so ignorant What always amazes me by these kind of moments is shouldn't he have a handler of some kind that could have prepared him for this procedure? They could've walked him through exactly what to do and when. But maybe he just really doesn't care. A couple of weeks ago I covered Veterans Day program at our elementary school. Had a picture on the front page of preschoolers who knew what to do.

I don't know why he even agreed to go. He seemed to be in some kind of protest. He had NO CLUE as to how to behave or what to do during a funeral service. He was sitting at the edge of the pew, angry face, crossed arms and showed NO reaction to any of the eulogies. It was quite rude. His wife looked like a soul-less bot. What a disgrace.
I told my husband that if it turns out he was doing business with Russia, China, etc., and they helped with the election, then he should be charged with treason and we shouldn't even acknowledge that he was our President. There should be a big X under the 45 in history books. I really didn't feel like he deserved to be in the presence of any of our past Presidents.

It’s his business MO. "Pump it and Dump it". For decades the financial marauders have done it to companies - putting millions on employment and bringing home billions for themselfs. Trump just runs the country like his businesses - he told us he would. And the idiots lined up to vote for it.

Well someone is feeling pissy this morning.
trump...
“Without the phony Russia Witch Hunt, and with all that we have accomplished in the last almost two years (Tax & Regulation Cuts, Judge’s, Military, Vets, etc.) my approval rating would be at 75% rather than the 50% just reported by Rasmussen. It’s called Presidential Harassment!”
What an absolute asshole.

I will give that he thinks the tax cuts to his cronies and the regulation cuts are positive (although anyone with two brain cells to rub together know they are not positive) and I will agree he did get two judges confirmed (although we all know how positive that really is and how that was accomplished) but what exactly has he done, or better yet, what does he think he has done for the military and vets? And calling it “presidential harassment “ I would think that would apply more to the people he attacks on a daily basis.

This has been floating around on twitter this morning. And it’s based on a NY Times story. My question is at the end of the day, in a country of 320M, who really cares?
“NEW from me: The first big misstep of the 2020 race may have already happened. How Sen. Warren's decision to take a DNA test shocked her own advisers, and ignited criticism among a progressive community used to praising her. Some now want an apology”
Yes I understand members of the tribe might be upset. But other then that who cares? She had a DNA test that showed she had some Native American blood in her. So what?
I’m not a supporter of Elizabeth Warren but if the Democrats make this an issue it’s another example of them being stupid. And stupid does not win elections.

I'm looking for something specific on Twitter that I know was posted on the site somewhere (this week, I think); I started looking through this thread but didn't see it. Hopefully whoever posted it will remember:
it was a post from a Twitter user whose name had something to do with Lincoln- or Lincoln's hat, maybe?? Anyway, that particular person had done a LOT of research into previous generations of the Trumps (Drumpfs) and their mob ties the during Prohibition / Depression era (smuggling alcohol out of Canada, that sort of thing) and even going back to the family's time in Europe before they emigrated to the US. The connections showed the con game is sort of a family legacy that started long before Donald. I started reading the whole thing, but didn't bookmark it.
Does this Twitter topic ring any bells for anyone?? I know the Twitter user's ID had the name Lincoln in it somewhere, but that's as much as I remember, and I forgot to bookmark it.
thanks!

Are you sure the twitter user wasn't confusing the Kenney's with the rump's. That sounds like Joseph Kennedy Sr. to a tee.

There is a meme floating about on Instagram "why does Cheney look like he wants to take Donald duck hunting?" ( to explain, Cheney accidentally shot one in his group of duck hunters while in office.)

no, it wasn't about the Kennedy family. I'm pretty sure it had to do with prostitution, prohibition smuggling of alcohol, etc. and that it involved Trump's grandfather or great-grandfather... I don't think that's what the linked Tweet was about, though-- the additional information about the investigation into the Trump family history was elsewhere in the person's Twitter feed. ETA: I DID hit 'follow' while I was reading it! It's not Lincoln's Hat, it's Lincoln's Bible... @lincolnsbible is the Twitter username. The pinned tweet at the top of the feed is this: "When I call dotard a "mobster," I'm not being cute. Or provocative. Or jumping on MSM's sudden embrace of what they've always known & obfuscated. NO. I'm bringing U the truth. Donald Trump was born into a front organization of the Genovese crime family. He was theirs from birth..." and the continuing tweets in the thread go into a discussion about the Italian mob, the Russian mob, Trump family connections, family tree information, Meyer Lansky, Bugsy Siegel, Al Capone, etc. etc. I don't know how much of it I believe, but it's making for interesting, reading, at least. He's mad because the country is honoring someone who isn't him. and we're supposed to be patting him on the head for his 'good behavior' which means basically not throwing a public temper tantrum? like he's a 5-year old? (maybe he can have an extra large piece of chocolate cake and one more Diet Coke than usual, as a reward...) (of course, his Twitter ranting could be CONSIDERED a public 'temper tantrum' in my opinion... so no getting to stay up late for Fox news, in MY opinion. )

Skellinton He’s accomplished a lot:
-Committed treason -Kidnapping kids and locking them in cages -Giving the top 1% enormous tax cuts to the detriment of the rest of us -Revitalizing white nationalism -The utter destruction of the environment
That was just off the top of my head, I’m sure there’s plenty more.

Nate Silver...
“There's something very (Hillary) Clinton-esque about the Warren DNA test story and the way the press is handling it. —Yeah she showed poor judgement. —But it's a minor story treated like a major crisis. —Probably a proxy for other concerns (and/or biases).”
Soledad O’Brien...
“Don’t make stupid campaign mistakes and be female is the takeaway. The media likes to pull strong women down. And if you’re not ‘likeable’ we will call you a bitch in a million ways and make you pay.”
It’s not just the press that does this.

He's mad because the country is honoring someone who isn't him. My God! He's so delusional. He embarrassed our Country yet again by sitting there with his arms crossed and a scowl on his face. He didn't greet the row of past Presidents like he should have. He basically dropped his coat to a soldier without any kindness. He's a freakin' creep & he's ALWAYS been this way! No kudos for possibly behaving himself for 1 minute. Moron!

The Trumps (and Kushner) came soclose to being in big trouble regarding the "Trump Soho" deal (it's not even in Soho, btw!!). They paid their way out of that one, but it should be looked into again! I'm still waiting for the Epstein/Trump sex trafficking info to come to light. It's been FAR too long. To hear that Epstein got it silenced in FL the other day (once again) ASTOUNDS me. We're talking about hundreds, if not thousands of underage girls that he peddled in FL, NY and elsewhere and got a mere 16 mos a decade ago in a posh place. It was a joke! I'm hoping that somehow the NY part of that sex trafficking ring could be exposed once and for all, and these women who were ready to testify could FINALLY speak their truth (and out Trump/Epstein). If this continues to be swept under the carpet, I'll be dismayed!
