Laura Litvan...
”NEW: Senate just BLOCKED a Chuck Schumer measure that would prevent the Trump admin from lifting sanctions on three firms linked to Russian oligarch and Putin ally Oleg Deripaska.
The vote in the GOP-led Senate was 57-42, short of the 60 needed to move it to a final vote.”
Who is connected to Manafort, who was trump’s campaign manager and worked on the campaign for free...
For a guy who apparently likes money like Manafort you have to ask the guestion why was he working on the trump campaign for free?
And now we have the majority of the Republicans in the Senate staying silent about lifting these sanctions on an ally of Putin who was connected to Manafort. When traditionally they have been all for sanctions leveled against Russia.
Unbelievable.

From an RGL...
”GOP: “No, the govt must remain closed while we secure our southern border from a fictitious crisis.”
Gov’t Employee: “Can we be paid please?”
GOP: “No.”
Oleg Deripaska: “Can I get paid?”
GOP: “YES SIR ... YES YES YES ... don’t mind these little people asking for handouts.”

linkGreg Sargent... ”The electorate is polarized over Trump's wall. On one side, a *majority* opposes the wall and any deal reopening govt that funds it. On the other, a *small minority* supports the wall and rejects any deal reopening govt that doesn't fund it. Polarized!” “Among the public overall, 29% both favor substantially expanding the border wall and say passing a bill that does not include the president’s requested funding would be unacceptable even if it is the only way to end the government shutdown. But a far larger share of the public – about half (51%) – takes the starkly opposite view, expressing both opposition to the wall and saying that a bill that includes funding for wall expansion would be unacceptable, even if it’s the only way to end the shutdown.”

Clemson Coach: “Proud to be an American and a member of the National Championship football team, the Clemson University Tigers today. I can’t believe this boy from Fayetteville, NC got to eat McDonald’s with his wife and some of his closest friends in the White House. There’s enough hate and division in the world, especially when it comes to politics. The team loved it. The families loved it, and everyone was so hospitable and welcoming in the White House. It’s a pretty cool tradition that the National Champions get to visit the White House. I don’t know if I will ever get that experience again but I’m blessed to experience it at least once! People can politicize anything. Today and tonight wasn’t about politics, political parties, presidents or what divides us. Tonight was about a group of young men being honored for their extraordinary feat and their unbelievable character. Congrats boys; y’all deserve it! Go Tigers and Go America!” I’ve stayed out of this because there are much more crucial issues facing us (eg Trump Russian puppet) but this is most irksome to me because of the total lack of respect in serving crap food to athletes. Continue to poison your own body Individual One, but don’t poison the bodies of elite athletes.

Bwahaha! Pelosi just disinvited Trum from the SOU: hahaha!! or for him to deliver it in writing, like it used to be done. I agree with her, and I think her reasoning is spot-on: she says HIS Secretary Nielsen is the one who deemed the SOU Address a National Special Security Event and that the Secret Service does most of the planning. Since they're not funded right now, the proper planning couldn't be done in time. And if he disagrees with THAT, then he's disagreeing with his own Secretary! Brilliant!! If it's a choice between him getting on TV or not, I would BET he'll figure out some way to make the TV appearance happen... but then again, he could just bitch about Pelosi endlessly on Twitter. hmmm... now I'm not sure which he'd rather do.

Seriously! I honestly don’t understand how he has so much power. How can one person be the final call...where are our checks and balances? There needs to be a way to override him. (Maybe there is...I’m a little ignorant on the proceedings) This is what blows my mind. The guy has been a known criminal for decades. HTH has he continued to get people to support him? It’s not like he’s charming. I am no fan of Mitch MConnell’s. =shudder= But what are you talking about, he’s been a known criminal for decades? I’ve never heard anything like this before.

NPR....
“JUST IN: An internal federal government watchdog says the deal to lease the Old Post Office building in downtown Washington, D.C. to a company controlled by President Trump improperly ignored the anti-corruption clauses of the Constitution.”
“The Trump Organization signed a lease with the General Services Administration to convert the building into a hotel in 2013.
But the GSA’s inspector general says that agency lawyers excluded constitutional issues when they reviewed the lease after the 2016 election.”
How do you spell corruption? trump!

”Turkey says attack that killed U.S. troops in Syria may be tied to Donald Trump's plan to leave”
If I was to take a guess, I would say the attack had more to do with trump bragging how he defeated ISIS in Syria then anything else.

Remember 8 Republicans spent the last 4th of July in Russia
"Seven senators — John Kennedy (R-LA), Richard Shelby (R-AL), Steve Daines (R-MT), John Hoeven (R-ND), John Thune (R-SD), Jerry Moran (R-KS), and Ron Johnson (R-WI) — and one House member, Kay Granger (R-TX), are all in Moscow over the Fourth of July holiday this week for talks with Russian lawmakers and officials, according to reporting from the Washington Post, NPR, and investigative reporter Julia Davis."
Surprisingly Kennedy and Moran voted with the Democrats today. This is despite the massive lobbying by Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, who claimed that retaining sanctions could effect American businesses and the economy.
If only they would put that concern over the economy into resolution on the shutdown, but that wouldn't be of interest to the puppetmaster Putin.

The Republican Senators who voted with Democrats were John Boozman of Arkansas; Susan Collins of Maine; Tom Cotton of Arkansas; Steve Daines of Montana; Cory Gardner of Colorado; Josh Hawley of Missouri; John Kennedy of Louisiana; Martha McSally of Arizona; Jerry Moran of Kansas; Marco Rubio of Florida, and Ben Sasse of Nebraska.

Out-fucking-rageous!!! Are they ALL Putin ass-kissing puppets? I wonder which 4 ass-kissing democrats voted with the republicans. Well, I'm confused because I went over the vote roll call senator by senator, googled news articles, and didn't see any Democrats voting with Republicans. Bernie Sanders did not vote, but is an independent. So I'd really appreciate it if you could point me to where your info is coming from. But I'm really more interested in the fact that you view a vote that is in no way advantageous to our national interest and in every way advantageous to Russia's (Putin's) secondary to partisan politics. I, myself, was shocked, yet gratified that some ultra-conservative Senators (e.g. Tom Cotton of Arkansas) yesterday decided to disregard the Republican party line and voted in favor of Schumer's resolution.

If I were an invited guest to the WH, I would feel obligated to eat what they served, out of politeness and respect. So you attend a lunch at the WH expecting to be fed. I agree with you that it’s just one meal, but it’s really the optics of the whole situation. As a supporter of college athletics, you would want to support their efforts through decent nutrition

”Rudy Giuliani on CNN: "I never said there was no collusion between the campaign. Or between people in the campaign. I said the President of the United States. There's not a single bit of evidence the President of the United States committed the only crime you could commit here."
The idea that there was colluding going on and trump not knowing about it is ridiculous.
