I listened to the first episode, and although her voice is ok (which is saying a lot since I can’t listen or watch a ton of people), I felt like she kept repeating the same thing over and over, just in different ways. I was also tired of hearing her use the words “show up.” It’s something Ali Edwards has been using a ton lately, too.
Will still give episode 2 a try, but not loving the redundancy of episode 1. The 15 min could have been halved.

I thought I'd give it a go while doing my AM routine today but so far, 7 minutes in, it's just her going blah blah blah about herself. It's the risk of the solo podcast venture: the echo chamber effect. I ended up stopping the first episode and switching to the new release of one of my regular podcasts.
In this first episode, she says she started a podcast because she realised she likes talking and I agree, so far, the first episode is all about her talking but not saying anything of interest to me. Not sure how that's going to cut it in today's highly competitive podcast world where regular podcast listeners are used to getting information and structure for the time spent listening. Also, I don't know what's up with releasing 5 episodes of very varying lengths (over an hour, 15min, 24min, 40min, etc.) in under 24h. Somebody needs to learn to edit and put stuff together. This is confusing. As a podcast lover, I like knowing that podcast XYZ drops a podcast of approx. this length of time every this day of the week that way I can figure out when I can listen to it during my work week.

I don’t know if you got far enough hah but she mentioned that the episodes would typically feature one guest and be a conversation. So it might get better. My biggest issue with podcast novices (or even some long time podcasters!) is that they never learned how to interview someone. So the interviews end up really poorly executed. I hope this isn’t the case!

I'm up to the second episode. The intro clip and the first official episode seemed redundant. She speaks slowly so I have to listen at a faster speed. The second episode has one of her co-workers and they are having a conversation. I'm only part way into it. I'm not loving it yet but I am definitely interested enough to keep listening.

I'm through the first 2 episodes. I usually don't like to judge a podcast until about episode #5. It seems it takes that long for a flow to set in - the podcast finding its style/format/rhythm and me getting comfortable with that.
So far, I find the audio to be very clear and I love that the two people are not talking over one another. No annoying lip smacking either! It seems they are well prepared (questions and answers worked out ahead of time). I wish there had been some follow up questions/more info on some of the items mentioned. Maybe that will come later. Even episode #2 seemed like an overview. I'll continue to listen.

So far I prefer the episodes with guests. I liked episode 2 & 3. I only listen to crafting related podcasts, which there aren't very many, so as long as they aren't saying "like" every third word I'm good. I guess my standards for podcasts are low lol.
Update: I enjoyed episode 5 too. Definitely better with guests or a cohost.

I've listened to the first 3 episodes (and the intro.). I think it's pretty good, but it sounds as if she's reading something that was written out beforehand. It sounds very scripted and stiff. She's also got a sing-song kind of voice that gets irritating after about 5 minutes. PRT just seemed to flow better and never sounded scripted or rehearsed. I'm going to listen to the other 2 episodes. I was expecting better, since she said that she's already done over 70 podcasts.

Update: Ehhhh....I'll probably wait until you guys start giving better reviews. Those were a long 5 minutes! I've got better stuff to do.

After reading here, I skipped ahead and just listen to the 2 episodes with guests, episodes 2 & 3. I liked them both pretty well (although I'm with @citygirl, my standards for scrappy podcasts are pretty low). I enjoyed the episode with Traci Reed the most. I like her work.

And surprised since she said she has done podcasts before. I did like the Tracy Reed one. The podcasts I like the best are the ones with more than one host and they have a real conversation vs one person interviewing the other. Part of that is their own comfort in front of the mic and part is the chemistry between the people. I'm hoping it evolves.

Stacy Julian has a new podcast out. Exactly Enough Time. I’ve been a fan of hers for a long time. I’m happy to have more options for creative podcasts popping up.

Not a big Stacy Julian fan. She's too hyper for me and interrupts other people when they're talking. I do like some of her ideas and methods, though.

Yes. So far it’s just her, no guests. So far all of the episodes are short, under 30 minutes. I enjoyed it but as I said I’m a long time SJ fan. I’m glad she hasn’t faded off like some of the people who got me interested in this hobby ages ago. She’s still energetic. She also has a free e-course on her website The Principles of Photo Freedom which is mostly audio. She said she’s in the process of developing a refreshed version of her Finding Photo Freedom class.
I think she has a lot of great concepts. I’m hoping she does a show about her school of life albums. I’m thrilled to have another show about scrapbooking to listen to each week.

I've followed her as she partnered with SU(?) but she didn't seem to really promote those lines that much and no one (on this board or another one I'm on) is talking about them. I think there is still room for a new and improved Photo Freedom system. I would love to see more of her.

Just listened to SBYW's episode with Crafty Jen Schow on Creativation. It was pretty good. I enjoyed Jen's take on trends & hearing more about some of the products/themes/colors she saw. Apparently there's more purple tones in our future.

I want to try the American Crafts kits to making the acrylic pour paintings and the teal/purple set is the only one I want. That set and the singles of purple are the only ones always sold out at my local stores. It makes me wonder if AC is noticing that people actually are buying purple independently of pink when offered. Other companies are including it in small doses, but I'd really love to see more of it. The only collection that EP/CB added it as the dominant color palette for was cream based, which was not at all what I want in a purple heavy line.

She talked about how it's more of a pinky-purple but she saw it a lot. I'm a purple fan too, so I was happy to hear it, even if more of a pinker shade. Sounds like maybe purple is becoming more of an acceptable scrappy color. I bought a ton of Indigo Hills 2 from Pink Fresh because I loved the purples in that collection. She did mention Nuvo had some mixed media sets that had purple, mint, & peach. I'm interested to see what those look liked. You might check them out too. Fingers crossed we see more purple in the future.

I listened to one Jennifer Wilson podcast episode so far, the one w/the designer Traci Reed. I liked it. They are both intelligent in their discussion - which is a must for me to listen to someone on a podcast. But, not to break my arm patting myself on the back, I am really proud of myself after listening to that podcast. Because....even though I'm no "expert" in the industry, not a designer, or influencer or anything like that I feel like I intuited what worked for me in SBing YEARS ago. Like right after Project Life came out. I LOVED IT. But I always used it my way. I never do a PL-only album. I never felt I had to scrap by week. I always mixed pocket pages w/12x12 layouts. I never felt I had to scrap all my photos. I never did the pages that were trend-following but inauthentic to my style. I feel very lucky that, for me, SBing never lost its allure, never got boring or stressful. Everytime Traci came to some new revelation of what worked for her, I would think "Yeah, that's how I always saw it." I'm grateful I didn't have those periods of doing a lot of stuff for some external reason. The only thing I still don't do as she does is "forget about the minutiae". I love scrapping stories AND minutiae. I don't mind having a picture of my dinner if it's something we've made that we loved or that looked beautiful. It's about what's important to me - I don't follow any hard and fast rules AT ALL. OK, I'm done congratulating myself now.

I just came to ask if anyone had listened to the Stacy Julian podcast - I guess I'm behind on the conversation. I always enjoyed her on PRT even though she'd go off on tangents and ramble a bit, as I recall - her voice and speech are quite pleasant and she had lots to say.

I just found it today at Tuesday Morning (it being the galaxy...purple/blue...set that I've been wanting). It was $8 and a half off coupon would have been better at Joann's but I'm not going to complain about 50 cents considering neither of my Joann's have been stocking it and the only online sale price during times I'd be willing to order have been 25% off (plus the purple/blue set is sold out on their website, too). I also got one that is all mint and light blue tones because I want to guinea pig something first. I might hold out for a better than 40% off coupon to snag the white or black (I feel like the best pours I have seen start with a white or black base...it seems to allow the colored paints to flow better) and some of the metallic additives. The blue/teal set is very plain compared to the purple/blue set but I think gold would add a lot to the set.

Boomp, boomp, boomp, another one bites the dust. Stacy has announced that she is "teaching with her friend, Tracie Claiborne." I really didn't like the past 2 podcasts, and now I know that I won't be listening anymore. Oh, well.
