I’m curious, why would anyone be scared of her? There was nothing wrong with the video. The problem is Ocasio-Cortez. The right is baiting her and she is falling for it hook, line, & sinker. She gets in these back and fourths with those on the right who bait her with some stupid thing like this video or her suits. And it’s pointless and a waste of her time because you are never going to win. IMO Ms Bernie minime/just pay for it Ocasio-Cortez needs to ignore the taunts from the right and use that degree she got from the elite college and get about the work her constituents elected her to do. And she can start by coming up with a more viable sustainable way to pay for the Green New Deal she is pushing then what she suggested this morning. A way that doesn’t push our government the way of France, Italy, & Greece ‘s governments. I think there is a lot of truth in the saying “actions speak louder then words”. It’s time for her to practice it. Those are the policies I’m not fond of. Her dancing tho is excellent But she’s only 1 rep, I expect she represents what her constituents want. If he shakes them up a bit I’m happy. But she ( nor Bernie ) will get everything they want. Hers to hoping we can meet in the middle somewhere

She is young and idealistic, Politics will beat that out of her.
I hope that dance inspires the young ones to get out and VOTE!

Bold is mine. She's a self-described socialist. Pushing our government the way of France, Italy and Greece is what she wants. Exactly, and that's why she won't get my vote. Not a thing to do with her dance moves. Your vote for what? Do you live in her district now?

I don't necessarily agree with her politically, but I love her energy.

The right should not be fussing over a dance video from her college days, and she should not be rising to the bait. I think she's young and a bit immature about some things - being smart doesn't always mean that you have wisdom and maturity.
Some of her political views are too far left even for me, but as I don't live in her district, I don't have to worry about whether or not to vote for her. Like Bernie, she is unlikely to get what she wants out of the mainstream Democratic party.
I do think the vocal right tends to get its panties in a bunch about females who don't fit the quiet/submissive mold and that bothers me a lot.

There's nothing wrong with her dancing. She can dance everyday if she wants and maybe all that green energy she's using will help light that dim bulb in her head. Having different political philosophies than you does not make her dim or stupid. 🧐🙄 Now if she starts calling nazis “fine people” or other things that turn a difference of philosophy into something more dangerous and a threat, then I might agree with you. 😏

You know she's being talked about as an up-and-comer. <shrug> Sometimes people take things just a tad too literally here. Besides a physical vote, there is a casual reference to a vote that means an endorsement of some kind. And with that, I'm out. The video doesn't bother me but the nit-picking does.

I think your last sentence is right on target.

My daughter is a ballet major and my son took tap lessons.

he problem is Ocasio-Cortez. The right is baiting her... The problem is Ocasio-Cortez. Period. Being baited is what politics is all about. Party affiliation doesn't protect you from it. If you can't stand up to it, you aren't a very good politician. The problem is absolutely not AOC. The problem is those republican senators who have harassed her, diminished her, made fun of her, and have tried to drag the woman down. It’s disappointing to see you post this.

"Being baited" is not what's happening and it's wrong to conclude otherwise. Unless you can direct me to the pictures being taken of the men in Congress without their knowledge and consent to try to shame them about what they are wearing...

I think it's hilarious that the guy who posted the video as a "gotcha!" was so horrifically ratioed that he ended up deleting his account. I guess that didn't work out the way he thought it would.
I may not agree with everything AOC would like to see happen, but at least I know that she isn't compromised by Russia or Saudi Arabia. She hasn't tried to put her relatives in positions of power yet. So I'm fine with her and I hope she keeps giving hell to the good ole (white) boys in DC. It's about time they got challenged by women who aren't going to put up with any more of their shit.

Well the dance number pales in comparison to the nude pictures of our First Lady. They really should just keep quiet!

Compared to, say, Louie Gohmert or Jim Jordan? She does need to buckle down and learn her job, but there are far, far dumber folks in the House. ETA: She is to the left of me, but she doesn’t represent me, either. She is far better IMO than Mark Meadows and his uber conservative Band of Brothers.

Just watched the video and I truly do not understand what was “gotcha” about it. It was college kids and it was cute.
What are Republicans saying about it? And do they perhaps need a frontal lobotomy or something? What utter foolishness.

It isn't Republicans that need a frontal lobotomy, it's the news media that turned one deranged Twitter user into ALL Republicans being outraged over dancing. Or AOC herself, whichever came first, the news stories about THE tweet or her response to the single tweet of the insignificant video. If one single nut job equals the entire party then the entire Democrat party has a problem because there are plenty of nut jobs in the Democrat side to apply the same logic to the entire party.

Republican Congressmen ... the old men you and your buds voted into office ... BOOED her when she voted for the Speaker. I am trying to imagine a scenario in which that would be appropriate behavior. It hasn’t come to me. Be proud.

Riiiiight.... Because it’s the news media putting words into the actual mouths of the republicans who have been beating her down for months. 🙄🙄🙄 The media has been reporting what these Republicans are actual saying about her—for months. This is not just “one line Twitter user” as you wrongly claim. Republicans HAVE been attacking and disparaging her for months. And FWIW, I think that this nutjob potus and GOP have really defined what being republican/conservative is all about and I’ll say—no thanks, next...
