I love a good real estate post, especially the crazy ones. This one is in my mom's home town in Oklahoma. This is her hairdresser's house. She ran the business from her home. I love it!! And the PRICE?? My house which is a duplex and only 1,500 sq. ft. and no land is really only $50,000 less that this! This house would probably be close to the $750,000+ (and I am low balling it) here in Denver. I just think it is very pretty.. www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/9510-E-Stone-Creek-Dr_Claremore_OK_74017_M72281-55648?view=qv

That is stunning!!
Wow - the cake studio I could put into that salon area? Man!! With all that natural light??
A home like that in my small town Ontario (which is becoming a bedroom community for Toronto) that would easily hit $900,000 to above the million mark.

Are they selling as-is? Can I move in tomorrow?
That’s a lotta house for that price. And it’s furnished beautifully.

Wow that would be an awesome place for a cake studio!! For me it would be my craft room! And the views.. oye! I'm thinking it would hit the million dollar mark here as well.. lol.. but I went conservative..

My mom said she is taking her beauty shop stuff with her.. the chair and such (not sure about the sink though? I wouldn't think that!) Sure you can move in tomorrow.. I might be there already, but I can share!

Pretty house, love the backyard fireplace area!
One great thing about Oklahoma, lots of land and our real estate is a fraction of the rest of the country.

If I knew 100% I could find a good job with what I am making now.. I would love to move to Oklahoma. I just don't know if I could find such a job there. My mom is there and it would be great being near her.

But there are people making bank here, we have a lot of homes that size and much bigger all over. I just wish I knew where they worked and if they were hiring. 😂

It is a very nice place! I think it's decorated well too with all the space to fill up! One thing I noticed is they must have spent a fortune on rugs-there are tons of beautiful rugs. I want to sip wine on the patio by the fireplace.

Real estate prices like that make it tempting to take my 100% remote job somewhere with a much cheaper cost of living. It would be like getting a huge raise lol. Alas, I love Oregon and can’t imagine leaving.

That is such a lovely home!
(The only minor detail I don't love is in the master bathroom. I'm not a fan of open showers in general, but especially not right next to the toilet.)

For a comparison to prices here... we looked at a house that was so similar to this, it’s uncanny. The finishes and style were very very much the same. It was a little larger - 3300 sf - and there was more landscaping and outdoor living area, but it was only 1 acre.
This was 8 years ago, so far from the top of the market, and it sold for just under $1.6 million.

If it weren't for the job thing and the tornado bit, I'd move there! That house with that lot would be major $$$ here in Maryland.
All of DH's family and some of mine live in OK. They'd be overjoyed for us to move back 'home' even though we've lived in MD far longer than OK.

They'd be overjoyed for us to move back 'home' even though we've lived in MD far longer than OK. I get the job thing and even the tornado thing, but I lived for years in tornado alley that doesn't bother me much. Where Claremore is, they are kinda in a unique position, they do get tornadoes but most of the time (knock on wood) they are usually bypassed or small. They did get one a few years ago, but it was pretty small but it did take out an assistant living place which was actually very near where they lived, but funny enough the sirens didn't even go off. From what I remember it was very windy but that is all they remember and the next day they saw that living place while driving out of their neighborhood, it was like it took that one place out and some livestock and nothing else. Now my mom is pretty paranoid of them and they just finished building a shelter in the garage so that eases her mind and I am sure at some point will help on resell. So in 20+ years they have been there they have been lucky.

I've been in Tulsa my entire life. Only two times has a tornado been within 5 miles of my home. A lot of the times the sirens do not go off because it's the straight winds, not an actual twister. Straight winds can do just as much damage.
I don't have a shelter, but definitely want one for peace of mind. Ive been pricing the ones that go into the garage floor.

Wow - the cake studio I could put into that salon area? Man!! With all that natural light?? I'm sorry, but that area will be a perfect crafting / scrapbook studio. No room for a cake studio, lol!! Except for the fact that it's not in Arizona... too bad. And I like the fact that it's not 4 feet from the next door neighbor's house, like houses around here are.

That house looks exactly like the woman who does my hair! Her kitchen looks like that (on a much smaller scale).
It is beautifully.

I just talked to my mom and told her about some of the comments.. she laughed.. she said that the owner even put it on the market on the HIGH side.. knowing it might not sell fast... can you imagine on the HIGH side. Maybe I should try to make an offer!
