What about the angry white guys with guns that have been killing innocent people in mass shootings for years? What about all the drive by shootings and gang related gun deaths in the African American communities? That is the real crisis in this country. According to the GOP, dt and his base these are not problems!! Just a note for anyone who doesn't live in Texas or have a basic grasp of its geography: Trump claims that a wall has worked well in San Antonio. San Antonio is 150 miles from the border and there is no wall there. There WAS a wall around the Alamo, which is in modern-day San Antonio, but as most of us know, the Mexicans won that one. That geography stuff is tripping him up again!

Suck it, Trump! Those Catholic boys disturbed me to my core. You’re seeing the future Republican Party Future? No, these seeds were planted long ago. Remember that Reagan made a huge “state’s rights” campaign speech in Philadelphia, MS. The place of murder for three, young, civil rights workers there to help register black people to vote. Only a fool would find that a coincidence. It went over most people’s heads, but Very Fine People got the message loud and clear. Trump is a natural progression from that, Dixiecrats, Willie Horton, and whisper campaigns about John McCain’s adopted daughter. Trump just says the soft part loud, now.

The kid in question is Nicholas Sandmann. Most of the others were just as responsible for their actions. I only went to Catholic grade school and not high school, but I can tell you that NOTHING would have happened to the kids at my school if they got out of line. Some of the stuff they ACTUALLY pulled should have gotten some of them expelled but most never even got a slap on the wrist. Why? Because: MONEY, namely their parents had a lot of it Entitled Catholic HS = Kavanaugh!

That is seriously one of the most disturbing things I’ve ever seen. I’m so disgusted. So much for all life is sacred. Their parents must be so proud. They are from Covington High School in KY, who has shut down their Facebook & Twitter pages, presumably because of all the negative comments they were getting. If we pulled this crap in Catholic school, we would have gotten our heads slammed into the blackboard! How is this religious in this least to try to intimidate and disrespect someone??? What is happening to religions? I don't think Catholic school is what it used to be. I am also a product of 12 years of Catholic school on Long Island. I can't imagine behaving this way on my senior trip to DC back in 1969! Unbelievable....

”No, Amnesty is not a part of my offer. It is a 3 year extension of DACA. Amnesty will be used only on a much bigger deal, whether on immigration or something else. Likewise there will be no big push to remove the 11,000,000 plus people who are here illegally-but be careful Nancy!”
What dipshit donnie doesn’t care about are other people’s lives, especially if they are people of color, and especially if he thinks he can use them to his benefit.
A trait you don’t want to see in a United States President.

Yes, I meant that these boys will continue and go on to be the face of the Republican Party, there sure isn’t anyone stopping them. These boys were emboldened by our current politics, to totally go and do what they did, with no regard to the mission they originally embarked upon (which ironically enough was to protest women’s rights) and were smug, hateful and vile to others.

Nancy lost control to the lefties? I don’t think so. Besides re-opening government and not building a useless expensive wall is not radical left, it just plain common sense.

I do make it back to visit family every year, and love going back but haven't lived there since 1973, and been living in Arkansas since 1984. As I said in my previous post, Catholic school has changed since we went. We pretty much toed the line!!! But my schools were much more middle-class, my Dad worked two jobs to send us, There was none of this rich kid entitlement that appears to be the case with the boys this incident. This from trump..
”Nancy Pelosi has behaved so irrationally & has gone so far to the left that she has now officially become a Radical Democrat. She is so petrified of the “lefties” in her party that she has lost control...And by the way, clean up the streets in San Francisco, they are disgusting!”
Prompted this from Nancy Pelosi..
“.@realdonaldtrump, 800,000 Americans are going without pay. Re-open the government, let workers get their paychecks and then we can discuss how we can come together to protect the border. #EndTheShutdown”
No insults just a reasonable common sense suggestion to solve this mess trump created.
At this point, I think the employees of the TSA should stay home. That would end the shutdown pretty quick I’m thinking.

Those were pretty severe, bloody days, where nuns and teachers there had free reign to practically beat kids senseless for doing something "wrong". I threatened to sue a Nun once and that was the end of it! LOL.
Wow--from LI to Arksanas and you adjusted? I guess you did!!! I guess I miss it so much because my huge family is still there AND I love almost everything about it....... I hope we can get back there too; thank you so much!!! Good talking to you--stay well!

Just the tip of the iceberg! A new Supreme Court is poised to take a chunk out of MLK's legacyBy John Blake, CNN Updated 9:25 AM ET, Sun January 20, 2019 (CNN)One is called the "child of the storm." Another is "the crown jewel." The third was dubbed "the voice of justice." They are the three great laws of the civil rights movement: the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the 1965 Voting Rights Act and the Fair Housing Act of 1968. A new conservative bloc on the Supreme Court though may soon treat them as something else: outdated "racial entitlements" that need to be put back in their place. ** The Fair Housing Act: Changing the way we define discriminationIt could mark a return to a segregated America, when banks and real estate agents used various means to prevent the "wrong kind of people" from moving into white neighborhoods, Squires says. "We would probably see less movement in the direction of more diverse communities, and increasing incidents of discrimination," says Squires, who is also a sociology professor at the George Washington University. "Housing providers would feel empowered to do things they wouldn't do today with disparate impact." ** The 1965 Voting Rights Act: Taking it off 'life support'Here's a thought that frightens some people who worry about the spread of voting restrictions across America: "They will go after Section 2 and just say there's no need for the Voting Rights Act; people can vote if they want to," says Anderson, who is also a professor of African-American studies at Emory University in Atlanta. The conservative bloc on the high court will then treat voting ID laws, which discourage millions of Americans from voting, as an issue of character, not discrimination, Anderson says. She doesn't expect Kavanaugh to change the court's trajectory on voting rights. He was part of a panel of three federal judges that upheld a South Carolina voter ID law in 2012. ** The 1964 Civil Rights Act: Goodbye affirmative action? It was called "the child of a storm," the product of one of the most turbulent periods in American history during peacetime. historian Jonathan Rieder wrote. King was ecstatic after hearing Kennedy's speech. "Can you believe that white man not only stepped up to the plate, he hit it over the fence!" he said. The law spelled the end of "For Whites Only" signs in public places. But it didn't just help racial minorities. It explicitly banned discrimination against women and religious minorities as well. It inspired millions of women to enter the workplace. And it served as a model for other anti-discrimination measures such as the Americans With Disabilities Act and the Pregnancy Discrimination Act. It also spawned one of the most controversial legacies of the civil rights movement: the use of affirmative action, particularly in higher education. Mention affirmative action, and some people's blood pressure immediately spikes. There's a popular argument among conservatives that King opposed affirmative action. It's not true. Although King did not use the phrase "affirmative action" -- it was coined by Kennedy -- he supported the concept. ** Kavanaugh is equally opposed to affirmative action, some civil rights advocates say. The NAACP described him as a "hard-core ideologue" who is "hostile" to affirmative action. ** Whole lot more at link: www.cnn.com/2019/01/20/us/mlk-legacy-supreme-court/index.htmlNot all points but bits and pieces!

”@potus offers to support 2 bills sponsored by Dems (TPS & DACA extensions)in exchange for Border Security (something Democrats claim to support) & the immediate response from Dem leaders is No?
I hope rank & file D’s don’t go along with this strategy of unreasonable obstruction”
Interesting spin.

They need to stop equating border security with the wall. Border security is not the wall and the wall is not border security.
