Thanks for that link! Reading now. I was a little hesitant to take this question over there -probably because I am not active there and I remember the old GS board was not always the best place to ask a question that could be viewed as critical. Reading the linked thread though, makes me think I should check in over there more often. I have a shit-ton of BH cards- most I got on sale and I need to think of a way to use my excess. I do like the method- but I don't use it exclusively. I still throw in a regular page in the middle of pocket pages. I like to do big creative pages sometimes. I don't SB often though and the pocket pages are a godsend helping me deal with a backlog of printed pictures. (It's not as bad as it could be, for sure.) I was just really surprised to find out that BH is not the Universal Queen of All Things anymore. Don't get me wrong- I don't dislike her. I think she had gotten too far away from her roots with the home dec and jewelry and clothes- and she seems to be trying to right the ship. I like the app a lot. I can live without the constant references to religion. But that's just me. Other people might find it uplifting. I used to think that too, on the old board. I think being owned by people *in* the scrapping industry was partly why that was. With this board being independent of that.. I think there is more freedom to be openly critical now, lol. Some of those threads on GS now, would do the old NSBR proud.

sues I want you to know that I wasted a lot of my evening thanks to you I had to click into this thread because I hardly see you here any more Then I got sucked into that whole other thread. Yikes! I haven’t scrapped in probably 12 or so years, I was completely unaware of all the “drama.” Anyhow, hope you find the info you’re curious about. I got totally sucked into it too! Hell, I even ventured over the GS board. I haven’t done that in years. I and was surprised to see posters I’ve never seen before. I thought I knew everyone here. It seems that I don’t!

I and was surprised to see posters I’ve never seen before. I thought I knew everyone here. It seems that I don’t! There's quite a lot of us that don't post over here, either at all or very often, although I lurk a bit. And the GS board is not purely a place for rainbows and unicorns. If you say stupid stuff, you'll be called on it.

But I still do a few layouts of favorite pictures each year.

It made for some good late night reading! Quite a few new names to me, but also several names that I only see over here occasionally. I'm thinking I need to visit over there more often as I'm starting a major "weed out physical photos" project this weekend. They seem to be friendlier than the old GS board.

I’m not sure why but I’m so much more creative now, like I used to be.

If Becky spent half as much time promoting her own product as she does Do Good Be Kind and Beddy Buddies, she may not be in the pickle she's in.

Definitely not Lisa Bearnson- she was very specific that she was not talking about Lisa Bearnson in any of the stories re: problems. The first time she said they were going to affiliate with another company, they had a bad feeling and walked away. Later they found out it would have been a terrible pairing- that company was already ripping off her business. The second time they actually DID affiliate with someone and it was fine for a while, but the other place wanted them to move in another direction. She said they didn't want to make the changes or do the things they were pushing for and said it was best to go their separate ways. Whoever the other person/company was flipped out- it sounded like a total meltdown, and they're the ones that sued BH. I did some poking around and came up with nothing. It was surprising that it happened and there was no buzz about it. The Stampin' Up separation happened in 2017- and though it could be them- I had the impression this happened longer ago than that. Maybe I'm way off base, but I remember that there was a problem with the production of her plastic pages near the beginning and she had to find someone else. Anyone else remember that? I remember that! I think they had everything made in China in the beginning and they weren't up on quality control issues. They just received merchandise and shipped it out to customers. Then people would use it and find issues with the page protectors, etc. and they had to figure it out fast. I remember it was a giant deal in the beginning. They had to find a new manufacturer and deal with a boatload of bad product.

I still scrap. Regularly. It’s my therapy. We still have a couple of great scrapbook stores in the Bay Area, and I have lots of scrappy friends spread around Northern California. But I always forget to check the GS board.

When I visit, we go down to San Jose to Scrapbook Island because the only other places I knew about all closed.

The other is in Dixon (farm country on the way to Sacramento). But since I live in the far North/East Bay Area, it’s still pretty local to me. I go to monthly crops there, classes, and other times as needed. (The shop is called It’s All About the Scrapbook. You can find them on facebook. I’m not sure if they have a regular web site.)

I love digital Project Life. I do a two page spread for every month and then add as many pages as I want at the end for special events like trips and weddings. I’ve uploaded my 2018 pages to Shutterfly and I’m about to print my 2018 album.
I wish I was a good paperscrapper, but I’m not. Digital Project Life works great for me. I hope it stays around for a long time so that I can do my current year albums and go back and do the years when my kids were little as well.
I like BH and I follow her on IG, but her posts have gotten strange in the last year or so. I think she overshares about her business. She obviously wants to branch out from scrapping, but she doesn’t seem to have any real direction. One minute it’s wrapping paper and the next minute its notebooks. She seems to launch new products without any plan for growth and innovation.

Where else would you recommend? Ooops. Never mind. I see you already answered that question!

But I always forget to check the GS board. Now that I only scrap pictures I take that I really love, it is far more therapeutic for me. For Christmas, I did a couple of digital scrap layouts of family pictures we took when I was home in March. I had them printed on 2ft squared, ready to hang canvas for my sisters. Doing those layouts was the most relaxing part of my Xmas season, lol. All our local scrapbook stores are sadly, gone now except Michaels and Hobby Lobby - but because I do mostly digital now, that hasn't affected me as much, as there are still stores I love open online. I forgot we had a GS board, actually. Im going to be checking it out much more now.

BTW, I just read that Lucy Kidd passed away. She was the sweetest person and that store will not be the same without her.

I go to monthly crops there, classes, and other times as needed. I think the last scrapbook store that I was able to find was in 2009. I waited forever and a day to have any to begin with, then it seems I blinked a few times, and they were all gone again. True in different parts of the country, no less. :-(

I thought I was getting an amazing deal from Amazon (with prime shipping) on Design A page protectors. They looked like they'd been sitting out in the hot sun and were yellow looking. I returned them.
