I was home from work today and stayed in my pajamas all day. Before DHcame home I got dressed and swiped on some makeup. I feel a little like a 50s housewife. I’m not sure why I did it because it’s not like he hasn’t seen me looking a hot mess plenty of times. Do you ever make yourself “pretty” before your SO comes home?

I do change into real clothes before he gets home. I wear a funky dress that I found at Marshall’s most of the time. It’s my chore dress.

When I work from home I get dressed 10 minutes before dh comes home from work, LOL! He doesn't care if I'm still in my jammies but for some dumb reason I feel lazy (even though I've worked all day) if he knows I've been in them all day. Hair & makeup, NO! That is as-is.

I pretty myself up in the morning and then that is good for me. I work from home and have been known to get out of my jammies right before my husband gets home from teaching morning classes.

I don't and luckily he is just so happy to see me that he doesn't notice (at least that is what I tell myself )

Do I ever do that Maisel thing of taking my makeup off after he goes to bed, then get up and put it on it before he awakes up? Oh hell no. Do I ever get gussied up before he gets home. Nope.
I probably would if he came home shaved, brushed his hair and teeth

Nope. Dh gets home late and immediately puts on what he calls his comfy clothes (pajama pants and a sweat shirt). Even if I had been dressed for the day I would be in pajamas by the time he gets home anyway.

I try to shower and put something other than PJs on to hide the fact I binge watched Bravo all day long while he was at work.

I do make an effort for my husband...because I likewise love it when he makes the effort for me (which he does all the time).
It's a little thing that makes us both happy and so easy to do.

We are semi-retired and he has a home office so I have my usual routine when I shower in the morning.
ETA: In the winter, after we're finished eating and cleaning up the kitchen and I've walked on my treadmill, I put on my pajamas and wash my face. Then we watch TV upstairs.

I don't know if I do it as much for him as I do it for myself.
I just always seem to start my day with a shower and getting dressed.
The only I time I don't do it is when I am sick.

Nope but this is timely because I got told not long ago since I don't get dressed to the 9's that my DH would probably cheat on me because I don't make myself look presentable when he comes home...the same person also said men cheat more now a days because women are allowed to work outside the home so women workers tempt the men so it's best to make yourself presentable to your husband.
I have enough issues with my confidence I sure didn't need to hear that nonesense but whatever.

And my ex cheated with a sahb. So there

I don't know if I do it as much for him as I do it for myself. It's just the way I am. I can't stay in pajamas all day (unless in bed sick). I won't leave the house without decent clothes on, hair brushed, and some makeup on. I prefer to be that way at home as well. I just feel more like myself that way.

Always. When DH gets home, I'm in presentable shape.
I'd expect the same from him.

My dh is not fond of makeup and I’m a casual girl (happiest camping or hiking) so it’s a great big no!

I don't know what my response would have been, if at all as they wouldn't deserve any more of my attention after that.

Most days, DH will come home to find me still in my pajamas. I figure if I'm not leaving the house, why change clothes and create more laundry?

The opposite, actually. I usually get home from work about an hour before he does, and by the time he's home, I've taken off my work clothes and makeup and am usually in yoga pants and a t-shirt.
