UPDATE!!! I got a nice letter today postmarked Buckingham Palace. On lovely official Buckingham Palace stationery with an embossed crest at the top, it reads: The Queen thanks you very much for the message you sent for Christmas. Her Majesty is most grateful for your kind words. The Queen hopes you too had a happy Christmas and New Year and thanks you for your thoughtfulness in writing as you did at this time.
Every year I send out Christmas cards to my 4 siblings. Sometimes one or 2 of them reciprocate, other years they do not. This year I sent the four cards, got 2 cards in return. Also this year, I decided to send some cards to the royal family to see if they would send me one. My parents thought I was strange, to put it mildly. I sent cards to the queen and Prince Philip, William and Kate, Charles and Camilla, and Eugenie and Jack. I sent them a bit late, missed the international mailing deadline by a couple days so I knew it was quite likely I would get no responses. Yesterday while I was out working, I called home to check in with my husband, and he told me I had gotten some exciting mail. I guessed a few things but was wrong, and then he told me it had come by royal air mail and said Kensington palace on the back of the envelope! And a second one with a crest. I have never been so excited to come home and check the mail! I got cards from Charles and Camilla and William and Kate! They both sent nice family pictures with a printed message on the back. I realize that the royals themselves probably never even saw the cards I sent, and the replies were definitely sent by secretaries, but it was still a nice surprise to get a response at all, and I will tuck these cards away and save them. After all, it's not everyone in Minnesota who gets a Christmas card from a future king! And I also showed my parents that the royal family is equally as likely to reciprocate with a card as my siblings are.

Hubby's sister and BIL celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary earlier this onto, and they received a card from the Queen congratulating them....along with a little note of been there, done that!
I agree, secretaries do the work, but still - how cool is that

Super cool. My kids have one from the White House every year but the last two. A royal card is so fancy!

That’s super cool! I sent a wedding invitation to George and Barbara Bush and received a card in return, which I thought was fun.

How lovely and a lovely keepsake. Don't assume that they didn't see it though. Whilst they don't obviously read all of the mail they receive from the public as they all receive 100's daily, they do actually see and read some of them. You never know, yours might have been one of the lucky ones to be taken out of the bag,

Super cool. My kids have one from the White House every year but the last two. A royal card is so fancy! Out of curiosity, did your kids send cards the last two years and not receive in return, or did they not send at all? But how fun to get cards from England’s royalty!

I think it's super cool!
I'm thinking of making a congratulations card to send when Harry and Meghan's baby is born. I should probably get started on doing that soon!

I share your excitement.
As an aside--my brother sent his HS graduation invitation to President JFK. To his surprise, he got a reply/note of congratulations. (yes, we know it was sent by the staff) Sadly, it was burned in the house fire.
