Rumors started to fly around school this afternoon about the snow we are supposed to get Sunday. I checked the Cliff Mass weather blog and he's agreeing...mostly. Says he wants to wait and look at the pressure systems tomorrow before he calls it.
I wouldn't object to a snow day on Monday... You in? What are our chances?

It never happens when it's predicted. My coworkers are doing a snow dance for a Tuesday snow day though because of a scheduled meeting they'd rather not go to.

Are you serious? NO. I’ve been sick all week missing parts of work and finally yesterday mid day I had to admit defeat and go home sick. Pretty sick today. Was hoping to finally be better Monday and get to work because I have so much to do!!!

It seems that we might get a dusting on Monday, but it will probably be more dismal cloudy drizzling dismalness.

I don’t think there is a real chance we will be so lucky, but I will be wearing my pajamas inside out just in case!!!! I have told all my students to do the same.

I’m up higher and more east. We often get more than Seattle and the last snow took me over three hours to get home so I am paranoid!!!

Our school district sent out a warning today of possible snow and a reminder if what will happen if schools close. I'm a sub and not currently scheduled on Monday, so here's hoping!

I feel a little guilty complaining about the weather when it seems half the country is freezing while I drove home tonight with my windows down in early spring-like 52 degree temps. But...I do not want to deal with snow!! Ugh!

I saw that on the news and thought...no way!
I admit, I did giggle when I was on a conf call at work with coworkers in WI and OH and I was like "oh, well sorry to hear about your below freezing temperatures, it's 45 and sunny here in OR!"

We are expecting it Sunday, and next weekend. I am right beside San Juan Island. We get a really drier climate and less snow than Seattle and Vancouver. It’s raining right now but hasn’t rained all week.

My teaching partner told all of her students that they were to do the snow dance all weekend. Then she showed them her snow dance, which resembles the Carlton.

We are in that convergence zone that runs from the Sound, over Everett and to Mill Creek/Snohomish. We generally get more snow than a lot of lowland places. Even the area around my neighborhood tends to get more snow than normal. Fine by me!!!

I will gladly play outside in the snow with my students, just LET IT SNOW!!!

We never did this as kids and now my kids are obsessed with it. My youngest even turned her doll's pjs inside out. Does it come from a book or a movie? Edited to add: oh, and we're considering moving to the Seattle area, so I'm loving reading about local weather stuff. We're weather geeks and I'll have to learn all sorts of new things like the typical weather patterns, storm tracks, etc.

Oh I know the general patterns, but I'm just thinking about how I know things here like if there's a tornado warning for southwest Jefferson county, then I need to head to the basement about 15 min later. And if it rains heavily, I need to take the long way to work because Buck creek will flood.....that type of thing. And whatever the weather is in Memphis, we'll get it 4 hours later. Just the kind of stuff you learn when you live somewhere a long time.

meridon.. when it snows around seattle, stay home.. there are few snow plows and people go crazy. and there are too many hills. the buses have snow routes.. we watch the weather come off the ocean.. and we watch if the "mountain" is out.. ie can you see rainier.. if you see the lenticular clouds build up.. bad weather coming...

The weather app on my phone now says rain and warm weather, where is said chilly and snowy this morning. Oh well.

I just heard about from a former student and firmly believe that if enough kids do it we can make it snow! Pajama Power!!! I have also heard you should flush ice cubes down the toilet or sleep with a frozen spoon under your pillow, but I don’t know how effective they are.

Does the wet weather affect you guys negatively? I love the rain and being able to wear a coat in winter (ok a jacket). I love winter in this area. I don’t do heat in summer but I love our winters!

I’m in Eastern WA and the temps are supposed to drop like a rock Sunday from 40 to highs in the 20’s. . It shows a chance of snow for the next 2 weeks. Nothing major though which is fine with me. I’ve enjoyed our warmer than average winter with only 2 decent snow events that required any type of shoveling of the driveway. Lots of rain in the valleys and lots of snow in the Mountains works for me!

I hate our winters, and I'm only an hour or so north of you. Love warm weather. Was in a convo on Twitter & apparently Vancouver Island could technically be considered the PNW. I'd never really thought about it, but it makes sense. We seem to get the same - or at least very similar - weather systems, I would prefer the snow hold off until Tuesday. Monday I need to drive up island to Comox.
