I'm one who will *usually* risk it. I reheat rice on the regular and drink milk past the date unless it smells funky, but even I wouldn't touch a rotisserie chicken left out overnight. Sorry.

I’m the worst of the worst about hanging onto old stuff, but even I wouldn’t eat chicken left out overnight. Well, maybe if the kitchen was 40 degrees or lower ...

Well unless he left it outside and you're enjoying some arctic weather, hell no. And I'm usually on my soap box about wasting food.

I will say that I was super surprised to discover my overnight house temps are actually lower than my fridge... my fridge is set for 18C and my thermostat is set for 17C overnight, so perhaps I either need to keep my house warmer at night or can just start considering my entire kitchen one very large fridge!
ETA — please disregard, I was stupidly incorrect. Fridge is set for 3C... freezer is -18c.

Umm what? 18C? That is not nearly cold enough for a fridge.

Surely you're joking. That's 60+ fahrenheit. I'm surprised you're still alive.

Add me to the rice reheating list, and the milk past its date list (unless it smells funny, as others have said)... But chicken? nope. You just never know if maybe it wasn't cooked all the way through to the middle and now that part has had all night to grow germs. Nope. Even if I knew it was totally cooked I still wouldn't eat it. And... I have to say, after the rice discussion the other day, I threw out some rice recently that had been left sitting on the counter overnight. Our house is cold at night, and prior to that discussion I might have sniffed and said "oh well, I'm going to reheat it..." But this time I threw it away.

Your fridge should be between 2 and 6 degrees!
