Well apparently I should be concerned about my other health ailments.
My blood presssure is elevated and my heart rate (resting) was over 120 beats per minute. I have to go back next week.
The doctor noted anxiety may be the cause, but my anxiety doc (psychiatrist) even noted a rise in my blood pressure and heart beat a month ago. I’m 99,999% less stressed than I was a year ago this time and my vitals were all normal then.
So...hopefully it’s nothing? They put me on a betablocker for the time being.

Pain raises blood pressure. He mentioned that but I had elevated blood pressure a month ago. We dismissed it then. He didn’t dismiss it this time because it’s even higher.

Genetics and getting older, unfortunately. Didn't they lower the acceptable range? My mother who is in her 70's had a mini-stroke in her eye due to high blood pressure (can't remember the medical term) so my doctor prescribed lisinopril for me. I'm 50.

Maybe you have white coat syndrome? Mine always shoots way up at the beginning of my drs appointments. I get nervous. They retake it at the end of the appt and it’s usually better.

This is one thing they’re checking next week. My mom has major theyoid issues. Heart issues run on her side of the family. I feel like one is easier to treat.

At the doctor, nope. Now, at the dentist, they basically have to strap me in and whisper positive thoughts to me 😂😂😂 “you’re so brave right now, we’re so proud of you for being a big girl...”

Hope you find answers soon. I finally had to go on blood pressure meds, even though I do everything right health-wise.

Ugh. I am sorry. Pain does cause high BP, but if you already had it elevated, it may not be that. I hope you find answers!

It's a good thing that you and your doctors are aware of the issue. Hopefully, you can find a cause and treatment soon.

I went to see my doctor three years ago about pain in my hip. My blood pressure was so high, they thought the machine was broken. Took it again and sent me straight to the hospital. I had no symptoms and felt perfectly normal. I'm always thankful I went in that day, just as I'm sure you're thankful you went in!
