Go ahead. Google “provocateur” and get back to me about which image is more “you.” ETA: Invitation open to all. Time we moved on from jello molds... dang, I should have known better than to do that on my work computer, lol!! This was what she said about the women in white: "Another good thing to consider when voting for those who go to Washington. These women make our gender look like rubbish. They sat with a b!+@# look nearly the whole time. Perhaps this is part of why men have avoided putting some women in places of power. They should handle their role with dignity and grace, not sitting there with disgust and a better-than-others demeanor. If one of these women had been my elected official I would have to reconsider before voting for them again. Letters need written to them to show our disappointment." It makes me mad- and sad- to know that these comments came from a woman. I really thought we were past the 'sit there and look pretty' and requiring 'dignity and grace' (only of the women, apparently) stage of things. And for that to be a criteria when determining who to VOTE for as an elected official? SMDH. (did you ask her if it was okay for the MEN to sit there with a b!+@# look during the speech? and if so, WHY?) I did reply to the first one (about the clap, where she chastised Pelosi and said that she was acting like a child and that people from other countries were going to think we were all childish). On it's own, that comment seems like common sense. But considering that she was supporting Trump, it is all talk. I said that if she wanted elected officials to work together, that it would be helpful if she wrote to her Congressmen and told them that, especially if she voted for them (and told them that). She then made comments that basically said she wanted anything BUT bipartisanship, and that the things that Trump is reversing needed to be done because Obama hurt our country....blah blah blah. But I restrained myself from commenting on the one about the women. It is pointless.

You should hang around more. You are needed! (I almost threw that 'horrifying' word into the thread which involves bemoaning the way your govt is controlling healthcare/access to meds, but that just seemed a bit unnecessary, ya know?) I read this and replied “ You pesky Brits. Buncha’ provocateurs.”Than I googled “provocateur” and clicked on Images, looking for something appropriately wry to add. Go ahead. Google “provocateur” and get back to me about which image is more “you.” ETA: Invitation open to all. Time we moved on from jello molds... I fell for that invitation hook, line and sinker

Offended by Pelosi's clap? What a bunch of whiny bitches. How can anyone be offended by the white? It commemorates women's suffrage?!?! This is what my cousin said about Pelosi's clap: "After having a chance to watch the State of the Union address I am saddened and disappointed on various topics and actions. Our country is greater than the childish and disrespectful display that our elected officials showed that night. Those of us who voted for Trump don't necessarily like his methods or words, but his intention reminds me of a parent correcting a young child. Like it or not, Trump is our President and as American's we should show respect to the office of the leader of our nation. To do otherwise shows the world that American's are childish at heart and therefore do need a correction from a parent figure. Our elected officials are there to work together for our country. The fighting between the parties is mirroring the arguments that my young children have with each other. Both sides are not working together for the good of the people. Arrogance and selfish reasons are driving both sides apart and the end result is hurting the people that they were elected to serve. I pray both sides pull up their britches and work together to set effective resolutions to the issues at hand." This was what she said about the women in white: "Another good thing to consider when voting for those who go to Washington. These women make our gender look like rubbish. They sat with a b!+@# look nearly the whole time. Perhaps this is part of why men have avoided putting some women in places of power. Well of course he'd go after teachers. After all, they have a vocabulary, critical thinking skills, and loud voices they are not afraid to use. Add to that a defined sense of right and wrong and a radar that spots lies and inaccuracies like nobody's business, and we have the #1 enemy to the 45 Clown Show! They don't want people who can think because it is so much easier to govern morons. Besides, has anyone but me noticed that when something is about to go down, some men grow beards? I've noticed that with celebs and even with a few men in my own life. It's like they are trying to hide or something. Not to mention an industry primarily made up of women! Can't have the women running things.

This kind of goes with my post above. But what the heck!!! Men did not "put" those women in power! Those women fought to get their position of power. We're mad as hell and we're not going to take it any more!

If I had, I don’t think I would have stayed quiet. I thought for a day about how I wanted to respond to the first post. I didn’t post on her thread but did post a pic of Paul Ryan not standing when Obama was giving the SOTU speech on my own feed. She then responded to mine so I went back and commented on hers. I tried not to dwell on the posts because it honesty makes me livid and is very hard to not say what I want to say.

I’m a teacher.
I really think Trump Jr. chose poorly when he decided to sling insults at a profession where the great majority is made up of fiercely passionate individuals who won’t hesitate to call him on his shit. I mean, any teacher that can single-handedly manage a classroom filled with 30 kids and their 30 personalities on a daily basis, can most certainly handle Trump Jr.’s pathetic attempts to insult them.
Perhaps next time he should target a more complacent group of professionals.

For “provocateur,” I thought I’d get images of Rasputin. Biblical Eve. Donald Trump. Maybe Napoleon. I’m taller than Napoleon, would never have a chat with a serpent, have read the United States Constitution, and don’t look nothin’ like those fetching lasses who filled my search screen... ...so I’m going to have to go with the Rasputin sexy time look.

And that is the crux of the issue...all teaching issues, actually. 30 years ago, I remember my mom telling me teachers and nurses would never get the respect they deserve because the work they do is women's work and therefore undervalued. And she'd be correct.

I have to wonder how my TX Trump supporting, teacher aunts feel about his statement, but I'm pretty sure Fox didn't report on it, so it doesn't exist as far as they're concerned

I usually hate referring to human beings as trash but really, I can't think of a better word to describe this family. They are vulgar, dumb, amoral, cruel, dumb, crass, tactless, tasteless and did I mention dumb? Whenever I try to figure out which of those traits resonate in the continued supporters of the Trump family, I quickly give up and just despair for that (thankfully small) segment of society. I hear and feel you. I just called that "person" who insinuated he would drown his kid if they came out as gay a "POS" on another thread. Don't usually do that... but then again, sometimes it's just called for to call a spade a spade and not a gardening tool.
