I was looking forward to 'the leftovers' which started here a few weeks ago, but sense it is going to be like 'Lost' with no real explanations of anything that is going on. I am also completely sick of the recurring piano music on it. I am going to give it one more week to see if it is worth persevering.

I'm not watching any of the new shows. Tried Scorpion - was just blah. None of the others even interested me.
I'm tired of these mid season breaks to bring out things that never seem to last. I just want to watch stuff I already like for more than a few weeks.

None. My new show is The Knick and I absolutely LOVE IT. Especially since I work in the healthcare field and it's completely fascinating from a historical standpoint. I am interested in knowing about this show. What channel, day and time? The Knick is on Cinemax on Friday nights.

I also love the new NCIS New Orleans, I LOOOOOOOOOOVED this. Me too!! I think that's my favorite so far. Not so new though that we took off the DVR was Hawaii 5 O. The storylines were just getting stupid. We love Blacklist. Scorpions - DH likes it but I don't. We tried to watch Utopia but that one didn't stick for us either. I kinda like RedShirtSociety because I grew up like that in a hospital But it was very different 25 years ago. I'm not sure if can stick with it but I like the personalities.

I've given up on Scorpion - didn't like it at all.
I didn't love Blackish or Selfie, but am giving them another week before I give up on them.

I'm about to throw in the towel with Utopia. I can't believe I've stuck it out this long.

I also love the new NCIS New Orleans, I LOOOOOOOOOOVED this. I watched it on your recommendation and I'm just not loving it. The characters were cartoonish. The pathologist was too introspective, infectious disease woman was too chipper, and yoga boy was quirky in that annoying Zooey Deschanel kind of way. And I'm just not liking Scott Bakula for his role, or for his disappearing and reappearing accent. Everyone's lines were poorly written, and in the episode I saw (has there been more than one yet?) the plot was predictable. Oh well...

Gotham is probably going away. Still on the fence with Scorpion. NCIS NOLA I'll keep. And I like Red Band. Can't remember the others. I only watch dramas so that reduces the number of new shows.

Giving Blackish another week or two..... It's a good premise if they get the writing right.

I watched the pilots of four new shows - Scorpion, NCIS: NO, How to Get Away with Murder, & Gotham - & IMHO all were mediocre at best. I liked the chemistry between the characters on Scorpion & NCIS: NO; only the main student character on HTGAWM was even likable; & Gotham characters were cartoonish & violent! I plan to watch a few more episodes of each before deciding whether to remove it from the DVR.
Regarding returning shows, I chose before the new season even began not to continue watching The Voice, Castle, & Mentalist. My interest in Scandal & Revenge is also waning, but, like the new shows, I plan to give them a couple more episodes before deciding their fate.
Happy viewing...

The Leftovers was the only one we gave a shot, and we were done by the third episode.

Mysteries of Laura and Red Band Society will become shows to watch when I'm bored and caught up on everything else.
I watch most shows through OnDemand.

I really liked The Leftovers. Really, really liked it. It took me several episodes to feel that way, but by the season finale I was dying for more.
I think you have to accept that this is a Damon Lindelof show, and that you will not get answers to everything, and probably not even to what seem like big things. If that is going to bother you, then skip the show. If you can just enjoy what you see and let go of your questions, then you will enjoy it much more.

We love Forever and Scorpion (my 10 yr old is getting a glimpse of himself as an adult and why I work so hard to give him "normal" childhood experiences!- but he loves the show too). I'm on the fence with Gotham- 1 more episode and then I'm done if it doesn't grab me. I did catch some of Selfie and was surprised that it was funny. The commercials made it look terrible. So I might watch a whole episode and see if it's any good.

There are very few men I love. Scott Bakula is one of the few. Very few. I've taped NCIS NO, but haven't gotten to it yet. I was disappointed by Blackish and am looking forward to the - aargh! I can't remember the name - the show with the person from Happy Endings. When is that on? I wish I could remember the name of that.

I rarely give new shows a chance. I'm usually getting into them at least 2nd season on. All my favorites, TWD, Top Chef, SOA, DA & etc all season 2. Tried The Leftovers - not for me. Resurrection is also getting removed from the DVR.
What I do love is Outlander. Love it and now we have a 6 month hiatus.

I'm glad I gave Black-ish another chance. The episode tonight was far better than last week's pilot.

Rainangel, your brother is only doing his job. Those of us who loved Breaking Bad feel compelled to get everyone they know to watch it !! Seriously. Yeah, I respect my brother's opinion a LOT, so if he loves Breaking Bad I'm sure it's a pretty damn good show! I just couldn't get that into it. I was about halfway through season 2 when I gave up on it, so I did give it a proper go. And I feel the same way about trying to convert people into becoming fans of Twin Peaks and Rescue Me, so I can relate

But I wasn't buying him in the angry scenes. And in the last moments of the episode, when they introduced the next case, I was totally wanting and expecting him to say "Oh, boy."

I've laughed at a few lines on Blackish. I think the scenes with the youngest brother and sister are weird.... can't quite put my finger on it. No one else is in their scenes. It's as if they film the show, and forcefully add the scenes with the twins as an afterthought.
NCIS New Orleans- sub par acting, IMO. The accents seem forced and not that authentic.
HTGAWM- love this show!!

Utopia - ds thought it looked interesting, but we only made it through 15 minutes of the first episode of contrived bickering before we were done. Black-ish - I think we got through 10 minutes of that one and were done. Scorpion - Still watching, but not loving it. It might be one of those where if I'm home and have nothing else to watch, I might watch it, but won't worry about it if I'm not. NCIS:LA Have to watch this one on demand now, because I just can't stay up til 11 on a Monday to watch it.

I haven't watched any new shows for the past 2 or so seasons because the ones I like are always cancelled. I did break my rule and watched Selfie because I love both of the main actors, and my DD and I were laughing the whole time. It totally hit my comedy and internet interaction sweet spot. (So I am sure it will be cancelled!)
That's my only new show.

Utopia, How to get away with murder, Mysteries of Laura, Gotham couldn't get into any of them. That said, I LOVED Blackish, I laughed my ass off at last nights episode. It's my favorite new comedy. I really like Red Band Society and Forever too. My son really liked Scorpion, so I'll watch that just so we can see it together. I really like Outlander as well. I'm looking forward to Gracepoint tonight, I've missed David Tennant.

And in the last moments of the episode, when they introduced the next case, I was totally wanting and expecting him to say "Oh, boy." LOL. Me too! So I'm done with that show and How to get away with murder. Love Viola Davis, but there was just too much going back and forth. Favorite show by far is Forever (which, by my saying that, I have doomed to an early cancellation.)
