Did no one read the news story linked on page two? The pregnant woman who subsequently died of Ebola was thought to be suffering from a pregnancy-related illness. If that's the truth, the guy didn't even know he'd been exposed to Ebola.
But yeah, let's continue to talk about how selfish he is and how we hope he dies in the hospital.

Yes, pissed. And I'm in favor of a travel ban. One of my husband's co workers just returned from a visit to Africa but not a country that has Ebola. So says my husband. But how would anyone know if someone from an affected country was in the country his co worker visited? I feel all the people working with our man will be watching him like hawks and go to great lengths to avoid him. As would I. My mom and stepdad just got back from a month in Africa. Not a country that has Ebola, of course. I have to say it never crossed my mind to avoid contact with them. Georgiapea, that is a very, very uneducated attitude.

So, what I want to know is how did the nurse not "fully communicate to the rest of the team" ? If she was working on a check off list, did she not check "yes" to the question about had he been in Africa?
More likely: she checked it off just as she was supposed to and the Dr. in the emergency room did not read it. Maybe she was supposed to leave her triage desk and go back to the DR and personally tell the Dr. I imagine the triage nurses all over the US will be doing that now.
If you can't guess, I am a nurse and I know very little of what I enter into the medical record is ever read by a Dr.

Yes; unless evidence emerges that he is suicidal &/or belongs to a terrorist organization, I doubt he purposely exposed his family to a deadly virus. I pray for his speedy recovery & that he did not accidentally infect others!

I haven't read all of the posts on this thread yet, admittedly, but from just the first couple of pages it stands out to me that some people think that this might have been a deliberate act on his part. With suggestions that he knew or suspected he was/could be infected and went to the U.S for the medical care, etc.
If that were the case, if he truly suspected he might have ebola and it was a mitigating factor in his coming to the U.S. 'why' would he go the hospital, accept a different diagnosis and some antibiotics and leave? That makes absolutely no sense. If he 'did' go the U.S. with any malicious intent, you'd think he'd have gone to the hospital almost upon leaving the plane and would have insisted he be tested for ebola.
Based on the course of events as they actually unfolded, it doesn't seem logical that he'd further endanger himself by picking up a prescription that he knew wouldn't help him, and then leaving the hospital knowing that he would likely be critical very shortly.
