There is nothing wrong with you. No husband has ever thought this way about his tool stash...the barely used routers and circular saws for the one or two projects that they might get to some day, the crap ton of screws and nails, etc. There are way more Home Depots and Lowes and what have you than there are LSS. You're just keeping tools and supplies handy. My husband hoards the left over end cuts of 2x4’s, you know, “just in case.” So yeah. DH purged his hoard of scrap pieces of wood that he has had for years and guess what? Yep, a month later he needed those boards and had to cut up a new one into little pieces. I cleaned my basement out and had a yard sale only to find i needed some of the stuff a year later. Purging is grossly overrated!

I too have an entire room filled with crafting supplies. Some of my stamps are 25 years old. Paper from 1995 too, Hot Off the Press. I used some last monthand was glad to still have those choices in my stash. On Black Friday I did "some" shopping but my family will not lack anything. Just this last week several sellerrs on Ebay got some of my money because I still love my Quickutz and I got some killer deals. Still had some Christmas money to spend. Yes I have over 5 feet of paper, maybe 40 pages kits, too many stamps to count, well over 100 embossing folders, you get the picture! I am embrassed to say how many dies, but I do have an Excell spreadsheet for insurance purposes oh and so I don't duplicate.
My DH suggested some shelving changes to give me more storage. He is sweet! He will also ask me to.make specific cards and will reference my room full of stuff!
My mother always used to say it takes a lot of paper (or craft supply of choice) to equal a boat or hunting collection.
Right now OP is over whelmed because of the flooding issue. Take this as an opportunity to do some sorting and purging of the things that no longer spark joy. Remember that it doesn't have to be one ll at once.

I don't think I'll need any googly eyes! If I do, they are what? A dollar? Yes! Some people set themselves a rule that if they can locate the thing they need again for less than $x in under x minutes they will let it go rather than keep it just in case. (some people say $20 in 20 minutes, but it's not a hard and fast rule - it partly depends how urgent the need might be). On the off-chance that you need those googly eyes again, it won't be an emergency, and you'll be able to get some new googly eyes for next to no money and probably without spending much time either. Or you'll make do without googly eyes, because even if they might be cute on monster cards, or whatever, they're not actually necessary. Half of the time my "googly eyes" items weren't even something I bought intentionally - just something that came with a kit, so why keep them around? Everyone has their own tolerance for that kind of thing depending on where they live, how their finances look, what the thing is, if they love it, and how much space it takes up. A big thing that's not loved, is easy to find for next to no money, and has not been needed in years is something to let go of, so someone else can use it. I'm thinking of those millions of baskets that I see in thrift stores every time I go. They seem like they'd be so useful, but they usually aren't, and I know the ones I hoard in my basement will be the wrong size or shape when I "need" them, so I'll probably end up going to the thrift shop anyway, or I'll find another solution to my problem. I'm more focused on valuing and caring for the things I have. I want to be able to name them, find them, keep them in good order. If I have something that's just sitting in storage waiting for "someday, maybe" to come I'd rather send it off to be used by someone who needs or wants it now. If I give my googly eyes to a kid who can enjoy them right now I'm not bothered if I need to buy a new pack next month for a specific googly project that suddenly arises. Craft stuff is harder than other stuff though because it's all about potential and creativity. How are things coming along Really Red ?
