Does anyone have experience with this? Does it really help? I found some beautiful gemstone bracelets on Etsy and bought one.I charged it up in the sun for 2 hours and have been wearing it ever since. I can honestly say I have felt more peaceful lately and I really needed that. If these things really work, I want to buy more of them. Here is a link to the one I ordered from. etsy.me/2T52t0J. Opinions please. thank you.

I think it’s psychosomatic. I do not believe crystals have any actual healing powers.

I think your belief they work is probably the most powerful thing, so buy more! The brain is who I’d give the credit to, not the crystals, but the end result is the same. And it can’t hurt.

my opinion is that it's your opinion that counts. lol. If you feel more peaceful wearing the bracelet, then it's doing its job for you... not necessarily that they actually DO certain things, but if you get a benefit, that's what's important.
we went to Sedona last fall (crystal / energy vortex heaven, lol) and I bought a couple sets of 'home protection grid' stones... you place a different type stone along each outside wall of your house, and they each have different types of energy to help protect it. do I think they actually work? no, not really-- but hey, it couldn't hurt.

If you believe they work, that's all that matters.

As long as you believe it's working for you, then it works. Personally, I don't think a crystal bracelet is going to make me more fertile or attract love like the seller claims.

I don't know if I believe in the power of crystals, but I will say my sister is a feng shui consultant. She gave me some crystals to hang in certain parts of my house. One of them was for wealth. Now, I'm not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination, but ever since I did that I have not lived paycheck to paycheck. It's likely a coincidence, but I will always have those crystals hanging.

The only scientific research done on crystals found that those people who want to believe in crystals report feeling better after holding them and those who don't believe, don't feel better. Also, those who want to believe in crystals report feeling better whether they hold real crystals or fake ones.
So, if it works for you, go for it.

I find crystals very pleasant from an emotional and aesthetic standpoint but I don’t think they have any actual power or healing properties.

No I don't believe in crystals. But if they make you feel peaceful wearing them, then go for it.

I have some because I think they are pretty and I was at a craft sale. I bought the colours I like. I know they had tags on them that said the did all kinds of things but I don't feel any different when I wear them, other than looking down and thinking "ohh pretty".

I have black tourmaline around my house on the window and door sills. It is supposed to keep the negative energy out. When I bought my condo it had the worst negative juju. I diffused YL purification oil, I smudged the corners, I did the salt thing. I did anything and everything I read about to help. I just shelled out a lot of money (for me) for this place that I have to live in and didnt want to feel suffocated by a big black cloud. I talked to one of the stores here in town that is into crystals and they recommended the tourmaline on my doors and windows. Do they work? I think in my mind I want it to so bad, that I feel like it has. I dont feel like a black cloud is surrounding and suffocating me in my condo anymore. I dont hate it as much as I did those 1st few weeks. I dont feel a black cloud swirling over me while I try to sleep. I cleanse the crystals on the full moon. I place them back up with peace love positivity and joy. I know that it is in my head, but if its "working" Im going to keep them up I also have a couple at work to help me with anxiety and stress. I roll them around in my hand and repeat some positive mantras. I can feel the energy from them. Again, its in my head, but if I feel like they help me lower my stress at work, I will keep doing it.

I tend to think crystals are one of the more ridiculous things people say help with things. My hair dresser is really into them. It's hard to keep my mouth shut when she's going on about them in her salon.

Crystals are no different than prayer beads, rosarys, or worry beads.
All of them help focus your inner energy.

I've never known you to be an unkind pea, so I'm really trying to not feel that way now, but it is really inconsiderate to announce the crystal bracelet giving a pea peace and helping her as "hooey", but stating that "the power of God" is more legitimate. I feel that whatever a person finds to help them, to ease them, to find strength in (as long as it harms none) is a valid and legitimate tool of peace and rejuvenation. OP: if those lovely crystal bracelets are working for, don't stop a good thing! 😁

the power of God? yes. the power of positive thinking and minimizing stress in our lives? yes. a pile of rocks? sorry, no. So pure and simple 'belief' works for some things but not for others your opinion. That's fine but it doesn't make sense at all to then decry someone else's belief

It is one thing to say I don't believe in the power of crystals or I don't have a belief in God. But it just not nice to make fun of those who do. There is a line between a statement of disbelief and mocking believers.
To the OP, I have been learning all about reiki. And I have stones that correlate with the seven main chakras. I also have a natural Stone bracelet that has a bead for each chakra that I wear sometimes. I am unclear on whether any of them has healing powers but I do believe they help me focus. And really for me, anytime I can calm my mind and focus my thoughts is of benefit to me.
I grew up Catholic and we were taught to say the rosary. I think there is a valid comparison to be made between practices.

For the record, hooey is our family's general term for all things we are highly skeptical about. But get it. To some people, crystals are their God or higher power. To some, God may be hooey. I'm fine with that. Everyone has their opinion.

Have you ever gone into a building and it just felt 'off' and you were glad to get outside again? I imagine that's what negative energy feels like.

I have never felt that in a house or building. Or how would you know it has negative energy? I am pretty empathetic. I believe that all of us have an energy about us. I do believe that I can feel the energy in a room. In my mind, though, the energy I feel is not a room giving off energy but the people who inhabit it. I also believe we have the power to change the energy surrounding us and while one day I may feel a dark cloud above me, I can drive it out with a reset and refocus. That is only my opinion.

So pure and simple 'belief' works for some things but not for others your opinion. That's fine but it doesn't make sense at all to then decry someone else's belief It doesn't make sense to decry a million other beliefs in life but we do. We all have our opinions on a wide range of issues as seen everyday here in NSBR. We have decried worse things than crystals and that will not change. Like many have said, all that matters is what OP believes. If she is soothed by those crystals, good for her. When it's time, she can decry my belief in foot flushing and not eating pot luck food. Talk about it being hooey to some people. Lol. But I would totally respect that.

Like many have said, all that matters is what OP believes. If she is soothed by those crystals, good for her. MANY said this, but you DIDN'T. YOU said: this sounds like the kind of hooey my MIL gets into. for me no. the power of God? yes. the power of medicine? yes. the power of positive thinking and minimizing stress in our lives? yes. a pile of rocks? sorry, no. what you said originally is NOT at all what you said just now. "Hooey" is a far cry from 'all that matters is what you believe.' It does seem out of character for you, and I'm sorry for sounding hand-slappy, but comparing the two statements, you did NOT respond kindly originally.
