No fever without medication, on antibiotics, and feeling better, and the friends don’t want you to skip, I think you’re in the clear to go personally. One catch is that this flu bug in our school seems to improve for a day or two and then relapse hard for a couple more days with a return of fever and feeling poorly. I’ll have kids back for a day and then out for a couple more days because their fever returns. Thanks. I cratered Sunday, was good Monday and Tuesday, and cratered again Wednesday morning. Crossing fingers that Wednesday was my relapse and I’m over it.

From urban dictionary: Cratered. Verb. To fall as if from a great height, hit the ground with a significant impact, and end up below ground level. Used figuratively to describe a severe downturn in popularity, reputation, value, etc. The president's approval rating really cratered after the latest scandal.

IMO, you shouldn't have gone to work, particularly after seeing the doctor. I don't think you should go on the trip. The damage may already be done, but if you have a virus you're probably still contagious. Stay home. And next time don't go to work and expose your friends and coworkers!
BTW, you could ask for a flu test, but there are always strains that don't show up in testing, so that may not tell you anything.

I’m saying this as gently as I can.....you’ve infected others by going to work. Your co-workers have infected others. If I recall you are still contagious. I don’t recall how long after all of this people are contagious but there is some time period.
As far as your trip talk to your friends. See what they say. Then evaluate not only their words, but the tone in which they say their response. Also, consider how you will feel if you do get worse while you’re away from home. Remember you’ll be in a car. That’s close proximity to them plus if you feel crappy and need a bathroom on demand will there be one for you?
Just some things to consider! I do realize none of the bad stuff may occur, but.......

I would ask the friends what they think. Not that you asked, but I do think it is odd that your doctor did not test for flu and then give you Tamiflu if it was positive, but instead gave you an antibiotic for a supposed "infection" based on virtually no empirical evidence. I think that's unfair, her friends both were around someone with the flu, so why should they get to decide if the OP can go on vacation? I say wait until tomorrow, when you wake up evaluate how you feel, if ok then go without anyone's permission. The friends weren't around OP which is most likely a different bug! The get to decide and give their permission because the sick one should defer to the healthy ones who can still go on this trip and not worry about making everyone else sick. It's not asking permission but it is incredibly selfish to not take the friends health and well-being into consideration!
