I like what I see. None of it is groundbreaking fashion, but I don’t think that’s the point of the challenge. I can shop my closet for most of it, so I love that. I love stripes, white jeans, and denim and olive jackets. I love paperbag waist pants, but it’s not a style that’s flattering on me. I never thought I’d say this, but I’m a little tired of leopard print shoes. LOL, I'd wear my leopard print shoes every day if I could. I'm nowhere near sick of them yet. I might even get a second pair in a different style.

I’ll go against the grain and say that I love it. I’ll be subbing out the patterned bottoms on Day 3 (&10) but everything else for me is a go. I’ve ordered both the paper bag pants and the skirt from H&M - I figure I can wear the pants in round one and save the skirt for round two (if this f*cking winter ever ends).

I love the capsule! Fresh and just a touch of trend. I am willing to give the paper bag waist, high waist, and stripes a go. I love how I have less and less to buy as i do more capsules.

I found some cute (subtly) patterned pants at Costco today. Haven't tried them on yet, but hoping they'll work.

Soooo today I got a Jcrew package with the button up jeans. I had to size up one size (and I am usually predictable in JC jeans). I was standing in my closet in front of my full length mirror and DH walked in and asked if I was seriously going to wear those jeans. He HATES the button fly (and to be honest, I look better in other styles). So those are going back. I am still on the look out for coral jeans...has anyone worn jeans from YOOX?
I made a list of what I think I will be getting for this challenge, and its really not a bunch. I had decided NOT to order the pink trench coat because it never rains here and of course, we are expecting a week of rain next week. I am going to head to Maurices tomorrow and see if they have it in stock.

I'm reasonably happy with this challenge. I've nixed a few things (for now, at least): button-front jeans, paper-bag wastes, and patterned pants. Also the olive jacket, but I'll keep my eye out for one. Not gonna do the pattern mixing. I bought a couple of tops, and the Maurice's trench in beige (thanks, Gennifer!). I'll most likely also do the work capsule. What I'm stuck on right now are the purses. I haven't ever had a whole wardrobe of purses--I carry a tote bag to work and have one nice purse (black leather). Then last year I bought the round woven summer bag on the challenge, and I loved it, and got so many compliments. So I probably could use a purse or two in between the winter black and the summer straw one that I plan to carry again. Has anyone bought any of the purses on the list? Any reviews?

I bet my DH would be the opposite... button fly jeans were from his HS/college years and he would probably love me putting on a pair of those and teasing up my hair with some Aquanet 😂. My JCF package was a flop- the red blouses went back. The overall length didn’t bother me, but the slit up the side was flirting with showing skin which isn’t the look I am going for most days. I was the one who asked about the coral pants on the Facebook group and never heard from anyone who ordered those. There was an additional percent off going on and I was thinking about ordering them. My eBay ones fit but are a little more orange than I was hoping. And re: the Maurice’s trench- it isn’t a raincoat at all. It is more of a lightweight chino fabric. I love the color and style, but worry that the fabric is thin enough that it won’t hold its shape well and will wrinkle pretty easily. But I might still keep it and flip the outfit with the red top and trench to a cream blouse with the bright pink coat, maybe.

I went ahead and joined, I’m bored selling basketball tournament tickets and cannot be trusted with a paypal password 😆
It seems pretty decent I’ll make some subs (the pattern mixing is a firm hell no) mostly to shop from my closet but it feels springy which is nice to see today. Gives me hope that this 30* weather will eventually end.

I thought this was a little funny... went to Lands End to see if they had a more substantial trench and found this picture. Pretty darn close to day 19 for anyone looking for a one stop shop to build their capsule. Attachments:

Something so I can recognize all my Pea friends! I would be pretty easy to figure out with my super obscure username here 😂. I recognized a pea looking at posts last night, but didn’t call her out since she doesn’t use her name here. If only there was a pea pod emoji to signal our alters.

I signed up thinking it was the same as the old way. I didn't read the fine print. That's totally on me. But I don't like a lot of the outfits, so now I'm stuck. I think I will just have to supplement a lot of it.

I’m ok with the change. Some of the feedback I gave was that I wanted to see the outfits earlier. If I know *how* something is going to be styled, it may change what I purchase. I wouldn’t choose some of the fun fluttery sleeves to go under a cardigan. Or if it’s mainly going to be used as a layering piece, I want to know so I don’t buy long sleeves and end up too hot.

I like the capsule. I already have a lot of items on the list and since my weather window for spring clothes is small I plan to figure out more ways to use what I have. I really looked over last years capsule too. I spent some time putting together an order from Loft. There are some polka dot pants at Maurice’s that I want, but I’m going to wait for a sale. I also want a pair of tied waist pants, but I want to try them on in a store.

I went and looked at it after reading this thread. I have most of the items—or at least something comparable to substitute. I tried metallic shoes with one of the other challenges and didn’t like them, so I’ll sub something for those. Same for white tennis shoes. There is a pair of neutral pants I’m tempted to buy from Nordstrom. I don’t need them but they are cute. I suck at pattern mixing though so I’ll either sub solids or figure something out depending on the outfit. I lasted about three days on the winter challenge, so we’ll see how long I stick with this one.

I think the spring capsule is pretty good.
There are a few things I don’t like so I’ll just completely skip them.
I use GYPO a little different than intended. My first capsule (fall) - I bought a lot of items that i didn’tlike or were just not me. Winter and now spring I do my own thing. I get inspiration from the prompts and clothing pieces but use what I like and fits my style. Ive added new things —leopard, metallics, different colors etc to my wardrobe but still wear what I know looks good on me.
Unless I’ve missed something I feel more info about how to wear some of the styles would be nice. Pattern mixing is a skill and can be great but is easy to do wrong - no pattern mixing for me - I just can’t do it right. Info on proportion would be nice too.
I did buy the annual membership because I really enjoy GYPO overall.
Has anyone ever wondered how much Alison makes in affiliate links? I bet she she does quite well. More power to her.
