Why do some people on here keep changing their usernames? I don't get it. {Clarifying: Why change usernames and not mention it/say why?} Some of y'all stay blocked, even with your new names.

If you use the Tapatalk app, it shows your original name. It's very confusing.

I changed because my kids were pretty much grown and I do a lot more things than "mom" so "yungmom" didn't really fit me anymore.

I was thinking about changing mine just because it seems kind of dumb to have my real name up there. But then I don't.

Now see, I totally remember you from "Yungmom" but didn't know you changed your name. It would be nice if peas put in their signature line what their former name was (I have seen a few do this).
My guess is, people trying to distance themselves from bad behavior (other than the obvious change to something that is more meaningful to them now).

Adding on to your question. Why post something so cryptic? in your words, "I don't get it." < ---- said in the nicest way possible.

I see valid reasons for changing a username (ages out, divorce, life changes). But to just change a username randomly and continue participating as though nothing happened seems odd at best, and a little bit creepster at worst. I didn't think I was being cryptic, but hopefully this clarifies it. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this is odd.

On a different board I couldn’t remember my password, or the security questions, and it ended up being so difficult to resolve I just chose a new name. I generally figure I fly under the radar on boards so people wouldn’t notice if I changed names.

I think outside of valid reasons like divorce or life changes that mean your name no longer reflects you now, its odd constantly changing them - just because you can. I'm glad you asked.

Or say who you're talking about.......

I’m thinking of changing mine just because I don’t like having my real name up there. But I haven’t cause no I e would know who I am and I don’t want to be accused of being a troll.

I don’t really care who changes their name. It’s great to know if they share with us so I can connect the dots of who is who’s but otherwise? This is the Internet. Anyone could be anyone. I could be five people. But I’ve always been me because it’s too much work to change names! Lol

I've been thinking of changing mine for a while simply because I really don't like having my real name shown.

I read them to be a thinly veiled passive aggressive jab at someone(s). My apologies.

I changed my username for various reasons and they are all boring. When I did, I put my old user name in my avatar photo area (I don't know if that's the right term) for a couple of months. People will think what they want. Oh well.

But, I also never rearrange the furniture in my house either. I just figured people changed their user name when they got bored with the old one. They probably are people who rearrange furniture and redecorate because the old go boring.

I changed because my kids were pretty much grown and I do a lot more things than "mom" so "yungmom" didn't really fit me anymore. me too! i was matleavepea on the old board.... kids had gotten big and didn't seem to "fit" me anymore so i changed to merrick (pretty sure i joined this board as merrick, which was the name i changed it to on the old board). (or maybe i wanted to get away from a single thread i started on the old board when i ran over my neighbour's cat in my driveway as matleavepea?? not really any drama with the thread... i was just horrified. lol!).

I have wanted to for just something different but then if anyone that 'knows' me wouldn't connect the dots and it seems silly to start a thread and say I changed my name.. I can't keep up with everyone else either.. so if someone changes their name and I 'know' them, I doubt I would even catch they changed their name.. LOL
