Ods will be home for spring break. He requested chicken tortilla soup. So, I have chicken tortilla soup in the crockpot. He sounds excited to be coming home. I'm looking fwd to seeing him and hearing all about university life. Yds comes home next Friday. They'll see eachother for a couple days before we take ods back to school.
What's on your menu?
desertgirl, yoohoo. I miss you and your quiver. Please check in and say "hi". I thought of you and your pies when we celebrated Pi/Pie day yesterday.
Have a happy day and a relaxing and fun weekend, my tribal lovelies.

scrapmaven - Enjoy your time with those boys! I have no idea what dinner will be, most likely a salad. It's getting rather old with DH only wanting to eat meat and absolutely no sides. I'm rather tired of planning meals for no one but myself, but I need to do a better job of meal planning for myself because my weight loss has totally stalled. Hope everyone has fun things planned for the weekend!

scrapmaven I hope that you enjoy every second with your family. I haven’t asked what anyone wants for dinner tonight. My oldest is still home sick and this morning, I took him back to the doctor. I hope desertgirl returns to our tribe soon!

I am ready to go!! I've done enough work this week, darn it. And then, of course, there is the housework and laundry awaiting me...fun times, fun times... I told Jeremy today he needs to make more money so I can lead a life of leisure....lol... It's just some damn jealousy. I want more fun time. Tonight Jeremy will be making hamburger helper. I will make shrimp stir fry for DS and I.

Dh and I have been out having a lovely day and just enjoyed amazing seafood in Dover, NH. There’s a lot leftover that we can heat for dinner.
Dd took dgd to the doctor after they both missed work/daycare two days in a row. Luckily she just has a cold. Doctor told dd to expect a lot more 😕

Not sure what is for dinner because I told the kids they could persuade me to go for take-out tonight. The discussion has been narrowed down to pizza from a local NY style place or Thai.
DH and I were supposed to head to Phoenix for the weekend but he's roped into hosting/babysitting at Nascar, so now the plan is for me to drive up and rescue him tomorrow and putter our way home. I'm hoping to do some antiquing/junking in downtown Orange.

Attention scrapmaven, destined2bmom, and all, desertgirl did check in last night at the tail end of the old thread. All is well. She was out of town with iffy Internet, but now they’re home again. I’m sure she’ll check in soon. scrappert, hugs to your girl. Deadbeat moms are the pits. It’s so hard for them to break free of that stigma, if only inside their own heads. For tonight, I have half of my BBQ beef sandwich with potato salad from lunch out with my mom yesterday. I’m ashamed to say, I hid it from my son.

I have no idea DS is on break and I do have to pick him up, but he’s not staying home all week. He has a club thing back at school. He also informed me he won’t be home for Easter - same club.

I had a teacher work day today and it was GLORIOUS! I didn't have any meetings and I got a ton of work done. I can see the top of my desk for the first time in months.
DH will have baked thighs and a veggie. I'm having toast and a fruit salad.
So very happy to see a Friday night.

Teriyaki chicken and beef kebabs. I will grill them. We will both have roasted yellow beets, spinach, asparagus, and broccoli if I find a small crown. I will have pasta maybe? Rice? I am not sure.

Last night we had chicken Alfredo fettuccine. Sauce was made and dropped off from one of my sister’s friends - we just had to cook the pasta and eat!
I got a message from my son about an hour ago. They are at the hospital, and were waiting for the doctor to come in and get the induction started. Tomorrow I should have baby news for you all.

We are new to the Augusta/North Augusta area. Spring break here is during Masters week. I’ve heard it is a zoo around here and everyone leaves town. We will probably (still) be working on sawing up the downed trees in our yard. DH was worried about a leaner but is worried no more. It fell on it’s own the other day!
Tonight is oven slow baked ribs, Brussels sprouts and fries.

Christian Dior show at a museum tomorrow afternoon OOooh, that sounds awesome!!! Sorry you're STILL sick, and I hope you feel better soon! I have always loved fashion, loved "Vogue", "Harper's Bazaar", and "Elle" magazines, and used to draw fashions a LOT when I was a teenager and into my 20's. Whenever I see footage of the fashion shows in Paris, I notice many of the celebs wear sunglasses to watch the shows---part of me thinks it's cool, but the other part of me thinks "ugh, they are trying wayyyy too hard to look chic / cool !" Just the other day, I was watching a documentary with fashion show footage, and DH walked by, and he asked me in this sarcastic/ fun voice he has "WHY do people wear SUNGLASSES at an indoor event?" I had to explain to him that those people were celebs, etc....he just rolled his eyes and kept walking by. (P.S...I think Anna Wintour (editor of "Vogue", I think?) is totes cool and chic in her shades! ) scrapmaven ......Awww, I'm so happy your baby bird will be home soon! scrappert ....Arrghhh.....(( hugs )) sueg .....Oooh, sweet, tiny, wittle babyyyy......Soooo exciting !!! I have absolutely no idea what's for din-din. DH will be completely happy with rechauffe chicken spaghetti, and I may go grab some Chinese takeout, I dunno. Really the ONLY thing I want are crab rangoon, andddd ummm.....those aren't exactly healthy! Maybe I'll have another huge salad like I had last night....borrrringgg!!

We had takeaway for dinner. DS had an HSP, and DSO and I had a souvlaki and chips. I told Jeremy today he needs to make more money so I can lead a life of leisure....lol... It's just some damn jealousy. I want more fun time. Ha, that's exactly what I said to DSO after my day playing SAHM on Thursday! He got to play SAHD until DS started school at 5yo, so I think it's only fair that I have a turn! It's very exciting sueg, I can't wait to hear the baby news, hopefully tomorrow.

lucyg is my hero. An arrow to her for her sharp eyes! Yes, I was in Florida for quite a while, visiting my only remaining aunt and doing some bird-watching with dh. It was a really nice vacation, we ate very well so there will be water and bread crumbs for many upcoming dinners, and I was happy to come home to lovely spring weather - Florida was getting too warm and muggy for me! So many thoughts - the first one being that some of my arrows were stolen while we were gone and this just pisses me off so much. The thieves took my lesser arrows, not realizing that they only looked like the real golden and platinum arrows which had been temporarily covered in plastic slime just so this type of thievery would not go unchallenged. Doofus move on their part. A pox on their arrow garage! The most important thing is that my tribal sisters all deserve the remaining sharp and mighty arrows, and they await my use and your reception. All of that was major bullsh*t, but a girl can dream with her fellow bullsh*tters, can't she? And we had real frijoles, guacamole, and quesadillas for supper at a local dive here. Dh, kinder than his wife, would have accepted the water and breadcrumbs and say they were delicious. Also bullsh*t. Thanks for the thread. I love you all. Especially lucyg

I was craving "crunchy" Tex-Mex food, so DH and I split a deluxe combo meal from a local restaurant. I had the crunchy stuff, the taco, bean tostada, and queso tostada. He had the tamale, enchiladas, rice, and beans. We both had some chips and salsa.

I will have him look for your arrows while he's there.

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sophia Teresa was born at about 2:30pm, March 16. Mum and baby are both exhausted - it was a relatively short, but very intense labor, that ended with forceps. Dad and this grandmother are crying. I don't have details of weight/length yet - the are still doing clean-up and haven't got to the measuring table.
ETA: 3.8kg, which is about 8lb 6oz
