I'm not sure what to make tonight. I might be out running errands w/ds. That will mean that we'll pick up Chipotle. If not, I'll make something w/pasta. I'll post later w/an update.
What's on your menu?
Have a calm day w/lots or reasons to smile.

Spring is here!

It's raining here ~ we really enjoyed a few days of sunshine! Maybe clam chowder tonight. Rainy here too, and we're both under the weather. Nick has a head cold and sinus headache. I have a sinus thing too, plus a midlife crisis. I just want to stay in bed. We've already decided to get burgers and fries or onion rings from Schoop's. Who am I kidding? We'll probably have both.

I can't make up my mind. I've run around every single night for about 10 days now. Tonight is craft night, but I really want to put on my pjs and stay home. If I do, I will make the potpie I planned on last night. Last night I spent my evening running around the mall because of course Jeremy waited until the last moment to get some new clothes for the wedding on Saturday and then he blew some sunshine up my ass about how he couldn't pick clothes out by himself because he wanted to make sure his outfit complimented my beauty. I ended up getting a pretzel from the pretzel stand and calling that dinner. If I go to craft night, it is going to be middle eastern food again. Which I like so that's ok with me.

It's DH's birthday. He works nights and sleeps most evenings so he doesn't like to go out to eat on weekdays. I am making him chicken cacciatore from his mother's recipe (one of his favourites) with pasta and garlic bread. For dessert I made dark chocolate peanut butter no bake cheesecake.

BLTs on some good bakery bread. When we were in Florida, my niece went to the farmer's market and bought me some beautiful heirloom tomatoes. I carefully brought them home for this meal! You can't get a decent tomato, around here, this time of year.

I may need this recipe. It's raining here today and my plans include laundry, laundry and laundry. I'd rather do one whole day of laundry than a little every day so this isn't a complaint. I have to decide whether dinner will be leftover lasagne or something new. I was planning to freeze the leftovers so DS could eat them when we are away next week, but it was a really, really good lasagne (fresh pasta is a game changer). My other option is a chicken sausage & vegetables sheet pan dinner.

DH and I have haircuts after work and then we need to clean out my car and locate the title and release of lien for it. Somewhere in there we will have Bell and Evans frozen chicken nuggets and I think salad. Dole makes a chopped salad that is mainly cabbage based that is so good. There are several varieties that we like. I like the chopped size of the ingredients and the cabbage has a much better crunch than lettuce

Kid is getting his braces on today, so I’m planning to be flexible and see how things go. my boys both got theirs on about 3 months ago. they both found cold felt better than hot and ortho said the same thing. i actually made and brought my son a smoothie to school on his worst day (day 2 or day 3 after they were put on). so i recommend having smoothie stuff available. DD reminded me leftover macaroni casserole for tonight! make a salad and yay - dinner taken care of! i bought some frozen salmon so that, with steamed green beans and either oven roasted potatoes OR rice tomorrow night. both nights taken care of. take THAT co-parent!!

Hi ladies!! It's been crazy here, as expected. Ds is almost half way through drivers ed burr I swear it's going to kill me before it's over with all the added running around.
The girls played soccer at ab outdoor showcase over the weekend so that meant we missed or annual St. Paddy's Day meal, so that's what we're having tonight. Corned beef, cabbage, and carrots. I'm also making oven roasted potatoes because no one except me likes the potatoes boiled.

Thank you for the input, littlemama, rickmer, and destined2bmom. He’s still a bit congested from last week’s cold (which he generously shared with me), so I’d already given him cold medicine with acetaminophen before I saw your suggestion, littlemama. I’m sure there is a milkshake in his future.

Dh took out steak to grill. I stayed home today and my sinuses aren’t happy at all. Around noon I took a shower and put on clean pajamas. I’m feeling a nap coming on. I really need to feel well enough to work tomorrow.

The ham shanks were calling my name at Raley's so that's what we're having too! I make mine with corned beef cooking water and leftover corned beef this time of year. I actually like it even better that way than with ham. On another note, I ordered online from Raley’s for the first time yesterday and picked up while he was at TKD. It was great! Added bonus: no impulse purchases! Well, not entirely true. I did impulse-buy some sourdough bread they waved under my nose. So to speak.

I see several clerks at Raley's running around filling orders, I haven't succumbed yet. I'm pretty picky about my produce but they assured me I can specify what I want such as ripeness of bananas and avocados. I take 5 minutes searching for the right ones.

Maybe we will have the duck in the fridge? I don’t honestly know now. I am more concerned about lunch as I haven’t eaten since yesterday. There is some soup in the cupboard.
I have to say this then hold my peace. I am in an awful mood. I read something very exciting on Facebook and then read the cost of it. It has made me so angry and it’s irrational as it will never effect me but it would have helped others. It’s a drug and it costs $35,000 for one dose and would help a lot of people. Anyway I won’t win this battle. What I did was delete everyone and everything on Facebook and Instagram that upset me which was mostly news sources anyway and I am taking back my Facebook and making it my happy place again. It was constant information and I don’t need it nor want it any longer.
Today sucks. I am so frustrated and have only myself to blame for feeling like this. I will feel better!!!😊

Healing vibes coming your way tmarschallHappy birthday to your DH psiluvuCalled the doctor today, and it seems I have tendinosis. How fun! I blame the costumes, and I am so ready for this to be over. I hadhope we would be ready by 4.1 (see, I wrote Month/Day justfor you Americans). Moahahahaaaaaaaa! We won’t be. When I came to pick up DD today, the instructors told me they will need at least 2 butterflies and 5 flowers as well. Will those be the last ones? Who knows. Dinner? Quiche. Again something I chose because it involves minimal use of my arm.

Happy First Day of Spring everyone! The chemical fire was put out this morning so no more of the black cloud cover. Now if only we'd get some rain to wash all this pollen out of the air. I've been sewing today and am about to start on the income tax return, so something simple for dinner tonight. I'm going to saute some large shrimp for myself and DD. DH will have some tenderloin or leftover sliders. Will make some brown/wild rice as a side and add a veggie.

The tribe is busy today and this evening! Self-care arrows are heading your way. PJ's and a good book sound good. So does leaving worries alone and loving yourself and your foibles. Minor stuff, really.
But, alas, I must make some shortcake to go with the delicious strawberries I bought. They actually taste like the strawberries I ate in the 1950's. Back then, I did not have wrinkles, either.
But, I digress. But, my face is constantly digressing. My neck, too.
Hamburgers, guacamole and chips, broccoli, salad, strawberry shortcake with real whipped cream!
Thanks for the thread!
