I am super annoyed that two of the stores close to me both say they have it in stock, so I ordered online for in store pickup. 24 hours later they cancelled my order. I checked the other store that supposedly had it in stock and nothing, not even a spot for it. Same here

Well mine says they have it now...I'm shocked, really. I'm curious where it's going to go because I was in another J's in Cali when I went to the Expo and they had redone the main paper pad aisle already. Many of the elements from the collection that they'll carry from Shimelle are in store items, so I'm wondering if it's going to be an endcap situation or maybe they'll dedicate some of their loose 12x12 paper area (since a lot is being discontinued) to keeping more current products on quick rotation. It would be smart of them...that way they can compare stale stock sales to frequently turned over stock sales and see that people ARE still buying scrappy stuff, just not the old stuff.

Just because they say they have it, doesn’t mean they have it available to buy. Neither store near me that have it listed as in stock really have it out. I imagine it is in the back/stock room, but who knows when it Will actually be out.

Has anyone actually seen it in their store? I’m wondering what the display looks like or where it is...

You are totally right there. I had the same thing happen when it said in stock for the Hampton Arts/Mama Elephant stamp and die sets. I called or went almost every day for a month before giving up...only for them to show up just a couple of days later and immediately sell out. Now they don't move and I ended up finding several of them at Tuesday Morning for $3.99, better than I could have gotten them for at Joann's anyway, lol.

Scrapaddict702 - I can probably find out directly from the henderson location if they have it yet and save you the trip and phone headache. I know one of the managers and shes awesome. It's all good. I'm sure they have it since the online inventory system says they do. It's all about knowing WHEN they're resetting that is useful and that could very well depend on when they clear out enough of the old stock. They've just barely begun clearancing things out (I had a couple $5 off $5 coupons over the past few weeks and have been in to use those and in the 2 week time frame, more stuff got marked down) and a lot of the eastern side of the country has seen the markdowns for at least a month longer, so I suspect they'll be equally behind in putting out the new inventory. Just gotta hope it's when they have a GOOD sale, lol!!

I was near my local Joann's today so I popped in to see what was going on in papercrafting. Lots of paper pads being clearanced, basically a whole aisle on red stickers with extra markdowns on top of the markdowns (everything except the one pad I thought I might want to buy, of course). And all the good (AC) stuff is already gone. Open stock paper was slathered in red stickers too. So my reconnaissance mission ended up with me buying 19 sheets of paper + a little pack of Walker's shortbread for $5.55. I got 2 sheets of full price paper with that, so basically I spent $2.50 on cookies, $2 on 2 sheets of paper, and then $1 on the remaining 17 sheets of paper!! I had thought they were half off 25 cents, but they rang up at 7 cents a sheet! I probably should've bought more... (better do the math and see how many more sheets of 7c poinsettia paper I would need to do all my Pea swap Xmas cards). I didn't bother asking about the AC/Designer Destination thing. I'm sure no one knows. But I'd guess that maybe in a couple of weeks they might have it ready.

The store closest to my house went from showing 3 available to 2 available of certain things, so I took a gamble and ordered it again online for in store pickup last night. I got the email sometime this afternoon that my order was actually ready to pick up. I am going tomorrow to pick it up. I will check to see if anything is set up or not. I got some paper marked 25 cents for 7 cents as well, our store was pretty well picked over though. What is funny is they had some similar paper (just a solid light blue cardstock I needed for a school project) in the actual clearance section that was marked 99 cents. Not sure I consider 99 cents for solid cardstock a clearance price, but whatever. I was glad to get what I did for so cheap.

I can't remember if it was this thread or another one where people were wanting to see pictures of the setup, but Shimelle linked to someone who took a short video and posted it on Instagram, so I thought I'd share. https://www.instagram.com/p/BwDBQWSDRbC

So, I picked up my order today and I did check the store to see if it was actually out, but there was no set up for it at all. They did some rearranging since I was just there because all the stuff that was on clearance was gone, but I didn’t see any spot dedicated for City of Lights. They had a whole section half set up for WRMK tools, a huge aisle for Happy Planner stuff, and new spots for different paper pads (most of those were on clearance this weekend). It am assuming it will be an end cap thing, but ours are still occupied.
I really like what I got, but I definitely want some more patterned paper, I wonder if they will ever carry that or if I have to shop online,
I am glad my store fulfilled my order even though they don’t have it out yet.

New items were at my store in South Florida yesterday. It seemed like most skus were there except the project pads. The cashier said they had 3 in stock of the Shimelle one and they were still in the back in boxes. They were where they had once kept the 6x6 pads if that helps anyone find them

I can just about 100% confirm that my stores will NOT be getting it. It is in the state next door but listed as not available here...so ONCE AGAIN, Vegas is completely left out. This was on the list Shimelle posted on her website:

I went to a store that was on the list in south Orange County, Calif. They had 4 packages of the Sparkle City embellishments and that was it for the collection. They had a lot of empty shelves so maybe that’s where they’ll be putting the paper but they also had a cart full of DCWV pads so who knows. It could have sold out but I kind of doubt it.

I can't believe the stores are only getting 3 or 4 of the items. That's crazy. Why would they bother to create a whole setup and not have a good supply? Rhetorical question...

So my order got filled and I picked it up this morning. The website showed 3 each of the collections and they still had nothing out on display.

Mine is stocking it...as in, most everything is on the floor, but they are still working on the single papers...I went last night and they had all but 4 papers of Shimelle's line out, so I went back this morning and waited while they stocked...the lady working on it allowed me to rummage for the last 2 after wandering around for 30 minutes while she was called away to work the fabric cutting table.
The single papers that are 99 cents are included in the 10/$2 sale, so BRAND NEW PAPERS ARE 20 cents, plus the 20% off coupon good through the end of the day today (the 10/$2 is good until the 24th, however) makes them 16 cents. I ended up with so many singles. They don't have all of them and there are a few I wish I could get my hands on, but I got everything I wanted. I couldn't be happier!!

I can't believe the stores are only getting 3 or 4 of the items. That's crazy. Why would they bother to create a whole setup and not have a good supply? Rhetorical question... I think it's similar to how Hobby Lobby would get 2 of a new PL kit but then only 1 each after that, only when they sell. It moves quickly at first, but will eventually sit. It looks like they're only getting 1 of everything. Meaning, AC packages everything except loose paper (that is done in 25 sheet bundles) in groups of 3. When companies order from them, it must be ordered in multiples of 3. That's just how they pack it. It could be a testing the waters strategy given how often stuff sit stale there. J's is also a large chain compared to LSS and online shops, so with it being a new release, inventory might also be spread thinner as a result.
All speculation of course, but I'm not too shocked. I am just approaching the product similar to how I would TM...try and get to it early. The upside is that it will eventually be restocked whereas most of the things I want the most are one and done at TM. I am so grateful to a friend of mine for telling me it was being stocked so I was able to go out and get the pieces that I wanted.
I'm just hoping with AC basically owning that area of the store (I suspect they also produce the Park Lane stuff that is a growing house brand for Joann's) that they'll move that they'll switch out the inventory at least twice a year versus once every 2 years.
