I’ll have you know I was on the east coast today and it was a balmy um… 17°C. 😂 I rest my case 🤣 Hmph. 🧐 The east coast is always colder than the rest of the country - just ask gillyp. 😄 It was 21°C here in the Central Belt - that’s warm! |

Resurrecting this thread to celebrate the resurrection of our old lady. The interior has been revealed. Don't let the fancy filming techniques fool you: this is the actual interior, not some computer rendition. And it's a bit of a shock to those who've visited the cathedral befure the fire as they were able to restore the original colours, never seen before by anyone alive today. The stone needed a particularly thorough deep clean because of the post-fire lead dust pollution. The Middle Ages were not these perpetual dark times we sometimes like to imagine they were... Let there be light! Welcome back, Notre-Dame de Paris. You were missed.

I am stunned! I just can't wrap my head around how quickly they rebuilt and then to see the interior completely cleaned up as well. WOW! I cannot wait to go see her in all her glory.

I think it's amazing what they've done, and it's lovely that they were able to open the interior even as they finish the exterior.

Wow!! Just WOW!!! Notre-Dame was stunningly beautiful before, however this restoration and reconstruction is breath-taking. I need to renew my passport and plan to revisit it SOON!!
