I’ve got several self help things going on, but anxiety is winning lately. I know why it’s happening, but still can’t control it.
I can even sleep to get away from it. My usual YouTube videos/binge worthy series aren’t working.
Anyone have a light, breezy or building mystery/drama book recommendation? Any help is so good right now.

I just finished reading The Child Finder. Holy crap I couldn’t put it down. I finished it in a day and a half. It’s such a compelling story.
Be warned though-it deals with kidnapping and child rape (but is not explicit-the wording of events is done in such a way where you are not specifically told what goes on, but instead it is a realization you make after you read the paragraph. (I hope that makes sense!).

There are 3 books and they’re super light and fun.

One thing I am finding helps my anxiety is my color-by-number coloring apps. Specifically Happy Color and Tap Color. I can let myself go on coloring different ways (numerical order, top to bottom, bottom to top, by color , by color by the rainbow, by how it will look when I animate the page... however it is, it relaxes my brain.

I don't know of any books that can assist but just wanted to give you a cyber ((HUG)) - I'm sorry you are dealing with anxiety.

You could also try some ASMR videos. I know it sounds weird, but I love the hair cutting ones without talking. So soothing.

Thank you for your suggestions.
This time of year is hard for me, I have anniversaries of things that are negative. So I struggle each year. I think I have better control each time, but then it hits me like a brick wall. The books, games, binging tv keeps my mind more engaged so I'm not thinking about it all the time. I've tried any self cares for it and found that the weighted blanket, dark/cool room, plenty of water and engaging him mind to distract is the best way to go.

I am completely engrossed in Jane Harper’s Force of Nature right now. I highly recommend. You could start with The Dry, which is number 1 in the series.
