Man, what a disappointing update. I mean, I'm glad she was at least "allowed" to attend some of the festivities, being that she was the prom queen. Very big of the kids to show their support by voting her prom queen.
Could the DJ just not have the lights flashing for the night?
Sheesh. I hope someone calls the TV station.

Update: I haven’t read the comments since my last update Saturday, but I heard brought the grapevine that y’all wanted an update. I am currently at an appt in the waiting room so I’ll have to be brief; her mom decided she didn't want to cause a big stink. The school allowed her to attend the pre-prom festivities since she was on the prom court. She won prom queen and her boyfriend won prom king. They allowed her to attend this part of the night but only if her mom would be there right beside her the whole time. They said she couldn’t stay for the dance though. I’m extremely disappointed in our school district but respect my friend’s decision to not push the issue. But if it were me, I sure as heck would have made sure they knew she most definitely WAS coming. Thank you for the opinions and advice!! That's one F'd up school.

I would publicly shame that school. Loudly. And I would at least talk to an attorney. Not because I’d want any kind of compensation out if it but because they need to learn a lesson so this doesn’t happen to other students.
It’s absolutely despicable for them to treat a student that way.

I missed the original post but holy moly I would have been raising a stink... at least she got to go to part of it.. but yeah, I wouldn't let this one go at all.
