What product have you bought but don’t use because you don’t know what to do with it?

I can’t think of much I’ve actually bought and can’t seem to use other than maybe some paper
But I accidentally bought 2 packs of 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 page protectors thinking they were 8x8. I do not have an 8 1/2x 8 1/2 album to use them in LOL!!
I’ll have no issues using them once I find an album to use them with.
I just threw out all my epoxy bits, I knew how to use them but the yellowed. Pretty fast actually so I hadn’t used much of them.

I was intimidated by the pen feature on my Cricut Explore Air 2, so I didn't even try it for over a year. A friend tried hers at a crop recently. It's so easy!
Of course now I had to buy more pens...

I have some brads I bought years ago that are shaped like postage stamps and are about the same size. I guess I know how to use them, but I still haven't found an occasion to use them, and so I continue to hold onto them.

Recently I have been trying to use my set of Tim Holtz distress inks-bought them years ago and didn't use them. The good news is that they are not dried up!

Alcohol inks. I think I'm the only person on the planet whose alcohol ink backgrounds look fugly.

Ugh, I guess I have to admit it's the Cricut - does it count if I didn't buy it? I HAVE bought cartridges for it, though, so I have sunk some $ into it! I get it out and fire it up about once every... 18 months, maybe? So every time I use it, it's like the first time. I have to read the manual. And I end up with some imperfect cuts before I figure it out again. The dumbest thing is that after every time I use it, I think, "Well, now, that was NOT hard, and it's really cool! I need to use this thing much more often!" I tend to think it's because I have to get it out, plug it in, make sure there's adequate clearance for the mat, etc. - but I recently got a Gemini, which has all of those issues, and I use the Gemini several times a WEEK. I don't know what my problem is.

Gelatos. Bought the whole big set, haven’t cracked them out once.

I don't tend to pull out my Epic Six as often because it's not as convenient - I found a convenient spot for my QK handle so it gets used more now

My Pix Scan mat for my Cameo. I've used it successfully once and then it didn't work the second time (Said I need to calibrate). I just haven't had the time to try calibrating (it's been a few months).

Calligraphy inks. I have good intentions of trying them, maybe with some mixed media, but the inevitable mess has them lingering on the shelf mostly untouched. Carpet + wood floors + wood desk = not forgiving of ink spills!

There are so many things these days.
My scan and cut. Which I pinky swear to try this weekend. It's been sitting since Christmas 2017 collecting dust. Irritating DH because he thought he had a winning Christmas gift.
I had to have the distress oxide inks. But I haven't used them beyond stamping. And that's rare.
I hate twine and such. I've got some just waiting to be used but...
And everybody posts great layouts with nuvo drops. On a lark I bought one. And I'm just not feeling it.
I have come to the conclusion that I like my scrapbooking quick and easy.

I'd suggest you watch a video or two on the Scan n' Cut before diving into the manual. There's a bunch of great tutorials out there on YouTube that can help ease you into those first few attempts and alleviate some of the 'new thing' intimidation.

The WRMK planner punch. I could NEVER get the holes to line up right and gave up. It's not you. That thing is a piece of garbage. I tried it out and returned it to TM.

Would you believe I have a canon sephy in the box? I’m afraid I won’t be tech savvy enough to get it hooked up to WiFi. I’m embarrassed.

My Fuse. I’ve had it for years. I really want 4x6 vertical pockets for my 9x12 pages. I just bought some full page pockets at TM to try converting. I’ll figure it out one of these days...

I bought a stamp positioner. I had read about them here but had never used or even seen one. I was buying something at Ecstasy Crafts and there was one that seemed like a good deal and good for a beginner—so I bought it. I just got it on Friday and haven’t done much with it beyond opening the box—and then closing it again.

I think you mean one of the two people on the planet. Mine look awful. Yeah, Jennifer McGuire makes it look so easy but in reality mine are a hot mess. Take this with a grain of salt (since I don't have direct experience with alcohol ink blends, only watercolour), but it probably comes down to colour choice more than anything else. A lot of combos either look plain bad, or mix to make mud. Knowing how to get pretty blends is a skill only practice will impart. Colour theory helps, but it's no substitute for hands-on experience. I'm going to guess there's some expertise bias in there too, since JM for sure has a very strong traditional artistic background and can probably mix paint in her sleep. Almost anything can seem trivial when you've done it thousands of times before.

Alcohol inks. I think I'm the only person on the planet whose alcohol ink backgrounds look fugly. Nope, your not alone cuz mine look fugly too. I like using Oxides on glossy photo paper way more than alcohol inks. Now my DD1 uses them to color items for her cosplay costumes. It's nice to know they won't go to waste. Nuvo drops, enamel dots in packs, jewels and sequins, I just can't seem to figure out where to place them. They always seem more like a mistake than an enhancement.

I would have to say my cameo sillohuete - years ago I used it a few times but don’t even remember how to anymore - it’s been years. I bought the small minc and used it once to make Christmas tags. I am so not tech savvy at all. They intimidate me And seem Like so much work.
