So I was going out for a run this morning. So I leave my house and walk down to the corner and there is a group of people running by! It was a group of about 30 and I'm watching them go by and then I jump in and start running along and asked "What's going on?" The guy told me every Saturday they meet at the Birch Tree Bakery and run a 5 mile loop somewhere through the city. Cool! So I just joined in and kept running.
I'm not a very experienced runner, I just started last summer and didn't run at all through the winter, this was only the 2nd time I went running this year. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to keep up pretty well. Luckily for me they were already half way through by the time they passed my house! As we were running a few different people came up and introduced themselves and chatted a bit.
When we got back to the bakery someone said "Hey everyone let's get a picture with Julie!" We went in the bakery and everyone was friendly, I got an offer to buy me a coffee from 2 different men. I politely turned them down and stuck with my water. I looked up their facebook group and joined while I was there and someone offered me a ride home.
So it seems like I joined a running club this morning! I feel so cool! Hahaha I am amazed at the incredible timing of them running by at just the right time!

I guess they like to "carb-load" after the run! The bakery has all these amazing looking breads. Most of the group was having this fabulous looking toast with strawberry jam. I intermittent fast, so don't usually eat so early, but am definitely going to splurge at some point! There is a farmer's market behind the bakery, so it's a great Saturday morning activity. |

That is so bad ass. I can spot a runner right away. It is something about their body type and calves. Congratulations on joining such an elite group. I am, myself, however; in the, sit on the couch, eat junk food, exert minimal effort, lazy team.

Your idea of a fun Saturday morning experience is somewhat different from mine!  I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’d love to be able to run but even when I was healthy it was something I could never do. I wish you many happy miles. |
