Too many favorites ! If I had to pick one it’s a local Irish pub called Crickets. I’ve missed all my favorites since March !
Do you change your pocketbook / purse seasonally ?
I do. Right now a red Coach with Snoopy on it for Christmas.

Do you have Christmas PJs ?
I have about 6 pairs and wear them Thanksgiving thru little Christmas on 1/7.

No, I don’t think anyone ( my kids and grandkids )in my family, has ever had any. I do have a Christmas sweater, cardigan, that I like a lot.
Fruitcake ? Generally, a big no for me. Although, I have sampled some pretty tasty ones.

Generally, I would have said no, until last year when we were gifted a small Wild Thyme Gourmet Pinot Noir soaked Christmas cake. It’s a moist, light fruit cake made with real ingredients (butter, sugar, flour, baking soda, eggs, brandy, sherry, Hazelnut Liqueur, spices, salt) and best of all, fruit soaked for twelve months in NZ Central Otago Pinot Noir. It’s nice by itself, yummy with salted caramel sauce & ice cream, but oh-my-goodness-so-good with good blue cheese! 🤯 Do you like eggnog? eta: sorry, for some reason I don’t seem to be able to insert the image into my post but here’s a link to a photo on the company’s facebook page m.facebook.com/WildThymeGourmetCentralOtago/photos/pcb.908025659361285/908025476027970/?type=3&source=49&__tn__=EH-R

I do not have holiday decorations outside. I don't have any inside either. I think I'm depressed and I don't want to decorate. Sigh.

We take them down the weekend after New Years day Grocery shopping - love it or hate it? I despise going grocery shopping, which is what I should be doing instead of being on here...

I don't mind it. I go to Aldi first and get the majority of what we need, and then supplement meat and dairy at our local grocery store.
Do you make a different dinner every night or do leftovers? We make one big meal for the week on Sundays, and have that for as long as it lasts, and then usually do steak, potatoes, and broccoli on Saturdays. (It also helps that it's just two of us and our cat.)

This year we are having Prime rib, potatoes au gratin, 2 veg sides yet to be determined, rolls, some kind of salad sangria and 4 desserts - Pavlova, Gingerbread with Lemon sauce, Sugar free Pumpkin custard, and Custard Cream Horns
Do you speak more than one language? I do not. Only English.

Not really. I attended Catholic schools and took French for a couple of years. The only thing I can really recite well is The Hail Mary, because we said it all the time. There have been occasions where I have said that prayer in a conversational matter. ( read - to a man ) They are usually quite impressed. Ha Ha. 😊
Have you ever been on a cruise ? Me, no.

Yes, twice.
Have you ever gone sailing?
|
|
|
Post by birdy on Dec 7, 2020 21:28:03 GMT
No, never on a sail boat. I've been on several "regular" boats, not sure what they're called, I'm not a boat person... a few ferries and 4 cruises though.
What do you do the day after Christmas? We have a do nothing day. Stay in jammies, everyone does whatever they feel like and we eat leftovers... nice and relaxing!

Do you buy new or used vehicles?
|
|
|
Post by auntiepeas on Dec 7, 2020 23:09:57 GMT
Used, through the dealership. We do our research, pinning down the exact features/model we want first, so it’s much like buying new but a previous owner has taken the financial hit and worked out any kinks/recalls. It’s always immaculately groomed and serviced before driving it off the lot, full service history, and leaves more money in our pockets 😇
What is your favourite/must-have car accessory?

Are you usually late or early for appointments?
|
|
|
Post by mnmloveli on Dec 8, 2020 12:39:50 GMT
For many many years, I was out of the house at 5:00 am and on a train at 5:15 to get to work for 7:30. Bedtime for me was 9:00 pm so I never saw all the good 10:00 pm shows. The past few years, working from home & running our own business, bedtime is usually 12-1 am and getting up at 9 am. I think my early hours for so many years makes me early for appointments all the time, even if it’s dinner reservations or parties.
Would you rather go to a party or host a party ?
I think go to a party so I can leave early. I’m not a social butterfly.

I like hosting. Although, I will admit, having to do all of the planning, work, and cleaning up afterward isn't my favorite!
Do you have holiday "trigger" item/food/candy/scent? Something that brings back a happy memory of a family member or special time?

Holiday Christmas crackers - kind with prizes and hats in them. We ALWAYS had them growing up and when I moved to the States in the 70's they were virtually unknown. My parents would send me a box to use. As the years have gone on they are easier to find and I have started using them again. I often buy them on sale after Christmas and save them for the next year.
Do you shave your legs in the winter?

I have 2 "Wonder Womans" that I don't like anyone else to use. I have 30+ total-- way too many, but we actually use them, and some get broken.
