This challenge is so you have bragging rights over cleaning up after your craft session, organizing a supply or your whole room, sorting or editing photos, organizing page kits, basically anything that’s not actually crafting that needs to get finished in the craft room. Note the change for teams: If you’re on the team challenge you can claim 10 point for each hour spent. Your time doesn’t have to be consecutive. You can claim a bonus point for before and after photos. grammadee.

I spent three hours scanning layouts, putting them into albums (has anyone else had trouble with the newer Michaels 8x8 postbound posts?), and tidying up my table btw - did you really mean 10 points or is it still the 1/hr it usually is? LisaDV I'm going to count as 1/hr for now.

I figure I can do a layout in 1 hour an get between 20-30 points, and it stinks to have to clean, edit photos, (I kinda like organizing), so I'm upping the points to make it worth our while. The other Crafts on the Monthly Team Challenge went up too.

You can possibly meet this challenge and take credit for the Donna challenge this month since it has some similar elements. If you organize photos into layouts/page kits, then take points as well!

I'm just about to start with a stack of photos and sort them into page protectors by layout but I'm not one to add paper/stickers/embellishments until I'm actually scrapping them

and an hour spent starting to organise DS's Singapore/Malaysia trip photos only to realise that I hadn't printed half of them, so ordered those plus the weekly pictures and organised my download folder and moved the photos to where they actually belong.

It stinks you didn’t have them all, but at least they’re ordered now

Tammiem2pnc1 - great job cleaning up the desk - it looks ready to craft on now! LisaDV - and an hour later, I've sorted the Tokyo trip photos and realised that I didn't print 2 small batches of those either...second Amazon Prime photo order of the day placed, sigh. I'm going to go ahead and start scrapping Tokyo anyway as the missing ones will go towards the end of the album. I sorted the memorabilia with the photos so there's that done too.

how organised does the Donna challenge require? Definitely if you are sorting photos for layouts into page protectors take a point for every one.

Tammiem2pnc1 your tidy desk is very inspiring! I might have to give mine a once over later this week. I just need to make some decisions about projects I'm in the middle of and then take action on those decisions. Until the decisions get made the piles will remain... Unfortunately that's the way I work. If I put the stuff away I won't do anything with it until it comes back out into the piles again. lol

LisaDV SO true! We can't craft if we don't organize. I like the point change too! I would have really racked up a few more points in April and May during the big craft room re-do! But this encourages me to organize the all the stuff that is hidden, in the drawers and such that I haven't touched yet!

angel97701, oh, those closed drawers and hidden away spots. What a great organizational tackle choice! maybe a bit scary too....

spent just over an hour on my scrapbook corner - tossed a bunch of junk, put a few things in the donation pile, found a home for my embossing folders - it's still not perfect but I have a little more elbow room on my desk now

I had to take a break and revive myself with a popsicle. I’m mostly done cleaning my scrap space. I have a few overflowing paper pads that I’m not sure what to do with. I just need a new container to store them. Going through my stuff was an eye opener today. I found stuff that I don’t remember buying and I hate when that happens. I also found stuff that I don’t love and will consider purging. Maybe purging will solve the overflow problem. After I buy the new SS camping collection I’m going on a spending freeze. Maybe for the summer. Maybe longer. Not sure yet.

I've been organizing photos into layouts, but not matching them with paper yet, so no points for the Donna challenge, and taming my sketchbooks. Hoping to get a better workflow.

Ya know, I'm totally on board with 10 points/hour...this is hard work! I just emerged, in a daze, from 3 hours of putting layouts into page protectors/albums...
I don't scrap chronologically.
So first I have to order my 2 foot stack of layouts by date. Then I have to see if I can squeeze them into the chronological binder they belong in. Then I have to shift layouts around to acomodate them.
And Along the way, of course, you find embellies or letter stickers that have stuck to the wrong layout in your 2 foot stack (duh. shouldn't stack layouts) and you cannot for the life of you figure out where they originally lived.
And likewise, you discover 2 layouts stuck together, and when you unstick them you rip the pp on the one layout So you spend 30 minutes fixing it by adding more embellies (OK, it's cuter now than before. but still aggravating!)
I feel like I earned those 30 points!

I feel like I earned those 30 points! This is me completely. It's the whole having to shift things around that really makes me pile those layouts up every year. Sometimes longer. They get stacked in kit club boxes (like pizza boxes) until they're out of space and then just stacked.

I've spent 8.5 hours avoiding chores over the last 3 days trying to update my excel list with my new kits. As well as doing something new in the organizing bit. Some kits had still needed to be downloaded from the May buying spree. I've been going into each kit to be sure I have everything. Found several mistakes. I'm about half way through the excel list and I still haven't tagged anything. I think I need a year of just tagging kits.
