oaksong that sounds really exciting! Will you be journaling during the cruise? That’s what I do when traveling: write up the details every evening so all I have to do later is add in the photos.

I am going to try to participate in this crop weekend! I sorta missed the last one, even though I wanted to participate so badly, but we were traveling. This time I don't have anything planned... yet... but we are getting ready to move/sell our house so there will probably be plenty of chores/house showings and maybe an open house on Sunday But... I will stop in as much as I can and hopefully get to participate for a good chunk of time

then I will drive up there to spend time with the little guy while the parents are busy with the unpackers. You are such a good gramma! I hope they know how wonderful you are. DSIL found a last minute cruise deal, and we leave Saturday. My dream Alaska cruise! Sorry I won’t be joining you after all, but I do plan to create a travel journal.. You will all be in my scrappy thoughts! WOW! Congratulations! Enjoy your trip!!

Moving stinks by itself, but selling your house is by far the worst. Getting it show ready. Keeping it clean. ugh. Are you moving far? I hope you saved out a few craft supplies to play with. I didn't once and regretted it and then had duplicates as I couldn't wait for the move.
I hope you can join it for a bit.

We are just moving one town over (better school district, by far) and building a house! So, a dream come true, but beyond stressful. We are going to move into an apartment temporarily as soon as our current house sells until our new house is done. I have not packed up supplies yet, but I have definitely been thinking through what is going into storage and what is coming into the super downsized apartment... until we get into the new house and I get my new and improved craft room (my current one is actually pretty great too though)!
The weekend of this crop I shouldn't have anything packed up yet, except for a few things that I don't use frequently to make it seem less "cluttered" for showing the house so fingers crossed I get some crafty time! I definitely need it... I have a few unfinished projects that I want to wrap up before we move so I can put them away.

Good luck with your home sale, lasteve1. My dd found that the hardest part about having a house "showing ready" was keeping it neat and tidy at all times. She was not working on crafting projects but on her PhD research and worried about the clutter. In the end, she put together a GO bag with all her supplies in it. She sometimes worked from the bag at home, but usually took it to the local library so she had some control over when she needed to put it all back into the bag. Is there a place you could settle in to play for awhile with your crafty supplies if you had them ready to get out of the house with you for a showing or open house?

Is there a place you could settle in to play for awhile with your crafty supplies if you had them ready to get out of the house with you for a showing or open house? Good idea, unfortunately that probably won't happen because we also have a teenager, cat and dog to get out of the house during showings. There aren't a ton of places that will let the animals in and the cat is indoors only and rarely leaves the house at all (almost exclusively for the annual vet trip). Right now the plan is to bring ipads or a game and hang out in the car somewhere... not a great plan :/
I do think I'll be able to work on stuff and clean it up quickly in time for a showing... I am pretty good about keeping my scrappy area clean because it also doubles as my work-from-home area once per week. I have heard horror stories about having to tidy up/pack up in such a short time... I think I will create a "to do" list for each family member every time a showing is scheduled. Hopefully that will help! And fingers crossed it sells quickly

I saw you guys mention this in another thread and kept meaning to come for a look-see. I am already going to a two-day crop locally, but I am going to bring my Cameo and my laptop so I will hang here too! Very excited! Unfortunately, my DD17 will be having her two (she only has two!) wisdom teeth out on Friday morning....so I arranged to have my stuff for the crop dropped off Thursday night, will go to the surgery the next morning, get her settled in, her BF will be coming to babysit/hang out with her for the afternoon, and her sister will be home as well....so I can split if she is fine. I'll only miss lunch and the morning crop time. At the risk of that sounding like bad mothering, this is my third go-around with wisdom teeth, and Dd's fourth surgery in her lifetime...so we're pros and she has a high pain tolerance.
I am so excited....it's always such a good time! This is a big fundraiser for the charity I scrap for weekly. There's sales of donated items they can't use. They raffle off die cutting machines, tvs....fun gift baskets. Food trucks come for lunch and dinner...so delicious. I'll have to make sure I take a walk so I can possibly eat normally as a treat!

Wow, 2marbles, that crop sounds like a blast. Don't forget to take some photos while you are experiencing it. And remember you can earn double points for your team for anything you create during the crop weekend!

lasteve1, sounds like you are all organized. I hope your house sells quickly. 2marbles, you and your dd sound like pros when it comes to surgeries. Not something I would want to be a pro at. I was beside myself when dd had a colonoscopy and endoscopy. I thought I would be tough and no biggie, but BOY Was I WRONG! I was a mess on the inside. Still had to hold it somewhat together on the outside as DS was there with me. Your crop sounds fantastic! Food trucks and fabulous raffles, I want to go! And I'm not one that really likes IRL crops.

After holding it together at the skating rink, and then ER, back in my hometown at midnight.....the rest was easier. She comes through like a trooper. I KNEW we should have left after they announced it was close to closing! (One more song, mom!) She proceeded to heal from that break/pin, come home, slip on the ice w/o taking her brace out to recess, and rebroke it. A year later, she was on a skateboard in our driveway, broke the other arm. A year later, we had the growth plate removed. Six years later, we had her tonsils, adenoids, and sinus membranes removed. A week from Friday two wisdom teeth! Surprisingly my other two, have only had tonsils/teeth removed. Parenting...its a wild ride! Hey this annual crop is in July...so if you happen to be passing through sometime...

I just made a quick menu plan for next week since I'll need to make sure to bring spices, and a few other items. But I started to get a bit excited thinking about what I could eat when the family leaves. Another favorite thing about alone time is food that I like that the others either can't eat or don't like.

oaksong that sounds really exciting! Will you be journaling during the cruise? That’s what I do when traveling: write up the details every evening so all I have to do later is add in the photos. I will be journaling in a travelers notebook, with tidbits from Heidi Swapp Wolf Pack, Authentique Quest, Carta Bella Let’s Cruise, and some Cocoa Daisy thrown in. Paper is cut into small sizes, ready to go. I will also bring my Zip printer to add pictures. That’s my plan, anyway, but I often fizzle out after a couple of days and finish when I get home.

Lots of down time on a cruise, and especially if the last day is a sea day, you will have time to come home with tons of awesome memories and the travel journal to prove it! I have never taken a printer with me on vacation, but that's a great idea! Good luck packing up for your family's trip to the farm, LisaDV, and for your home-alone crop afterward. Don't stress too much. I imagine you bought groceries when you lived out there, so you still have options to do that before everyone leaves. (I say "before" b/c you don't want to waste your scrappy time on a grocery run!) I was wondering what I was going to have to scrap the IRL crop that justjac and I will be attending the weekend after the on line one. But my dd and ddil have been posting pic's about their summer adventures, and dd says she will have a ton to Airdrop once they are physically here. Think I will be packing up my camping and road trip supplies, along with basic summer.

I imagine you bought groceries when you lived out there, so you still have options to do that before everyone leaves. (I say "before" b/c you don't want to waste your scrappy time on a grocery run!) I am planning a grocery run, especially for the fresh veggies and milk. I just don't want a whole bunch of spices there. So I thought I'd do my meal plans and make my own mixes for whatever I'm doing. Like I'm making etouffee one day so I need to make Worcestershire sauce and my creole seasoning. Tacos would be a good idea for DH once he's back here with the kids as it's easy, so I should make up a batch of taco seasoning. I've been out and just spicing as I go, but DH could screw up the tacos that way. I was wondering what I was going to have to scrap the IRL crop Are you all caught up in your photos?

I wish I was home that weekend to participate. It will be week 4 of 4 with our grandchildren here. Our grandson has a hockey tournament in Duluth (MN) all next week.
I am going to have so many photos to scrapbook!

I was wondering what I was going to have to scrap the IRL crop Are you all caught up in your photos? I am not out of printed pics yet but they don’t lend themselves to crop travel, b/c they are on a lot of different themes, so I would either need to pack a LOT of stuff or take the time to do up page kits. Easier to scrap these photos at home. One more day of weeding, and then a card making day tomorrow, and after that I hope to get back into doing pages again.

My morning plans got sidetracked today, so I think I'll start some layout prep work for my dd's birthday series that I want to finish this weekend. I figure get my page sketches or scraplifts if using, build a template of sorts based on what I'm using as inspiration, get my photos in there. Then all I've have is the pretty and fun part - papers and embellishments on the weekend.

A wrench in the works of my peaceful weekend. DH has a big project at work and was told by the end of August for completion. Although being the overachiever, he is set to have it wrapped up next week. No good. They want a meeting about it this week. He has an interview with an expert still on the books for next week but has to still present information this week. Since the final presentation will go to uppity ups, he has to present Thursday to the legal team, his boss, and the CFO. He will come after that to the farm, but he wanted a camp fire and some fishing time, which we were going to do Wednesday and Thursday evenings respectively. We will be doing that over the weekend, although I've also informed him that I still will have to check in here and do some crafting. (Can't waste double points for the weekend for the team challenges, you know. ) The good news is he will be taking the kids back to the new house on Sunday morning. I will stay on a day or two to have some responsibility free time and recharge. I see a movie marathon on the horizon.
