I plan to spend some time scrapbooking this afternoon. I have a 3 day break from the marathon visit from our DS and grandchildren. Whew! I need it. I love them dearly, but DH and I are tired. Plus, my house needs some TLC. Don't waste time cleaning house if those dgk's are coming back . Lots of time for that after they leave. Relax, breathe, craft if you have the energy. I have done the backgrounds for a couple of pages. Hoping to get one of them finished today. And have a list of other crafty things to do, but the mojo tank seems a little empty this morning. Hoping to get a bunch of camping pic's printed tomorrow from dd's photos. And with luck, the Hero Arts stamps and dies will be at the post office then too. Don't know if I will start putting pages together immediately (which is my MO), or if I will show some restraint and pack the photos and the camping papers and extras to take to our IRL crop in a couple of weeks. Ha ha - no, they won't be back. We'll be meeting up with them. I started editing my photos from the last couple of months. I am way behind. And, I started a layout!

Glad you got it sorted out, @missbellejane. Hope you can share your creation here or give us a link to it when it goes live on the cutfile site.

I actually completed a layout and I'm actually happy with it! It's taken me over a week, with lots of stops and starts, but now I can move on. I just got a photo order of almost 300 pics. Hoping the new pics plus the new scrappy stuff I bought a few weeks ago will spark some mojo. It's been a long dry spell!!

Well that stinks. Do you know someone locally who could let you download and cut the new file on their machine? I actually don't know any other local scrapbookers. I dream of having a small posse of scrappy friends! Thankfully I managed to get it working on an old laptop. Long enough to cut what I needed to cut. I guess now I have a real and compelling reason to upgrade when the new one comes out! so glad you got it figured out

I visited a REAL scrapbook store today. It was quite nice, with some great local themed items.
It was Pine City Scrapbooking in MN.

So I started scrapping our Disney trip yesterday. I’m using a 6x8 album with pocket pages. I’m not even to lunch on the first day and my album is half full. This trip may require multiple volumes!!!! But I’m totally loving using the say cheese stuff from simple stories. I’m reliving our trip all over again!

This is why I want 9x12 albums and pp to be available more widely (and with a 3 3x4 and 3 4x6 option because vacations are one of the few times where we take a lot more horizontal photos...partly because my husband is in charge of the camera more then and partly because of necessity for the things I want in the shot). I had mine all planned and then realized I couldn't scrapbook the trip because the pp didn't work for the photos I had. 6x8 is just too small and 12x12 too big. The Disney trip I was going to use it for was only 2 days, lol.
Congrats on the progress and so awesome that you're getting to dig into some fun goodies!!

I absolutely loved the process, and they are still my very favorite albums.

When I scrapped our 10 days in Orlando last summer (21 people, the week included our 50th anniversary and family photos, lots of Disney photo pass pic's, and I included cousin time and time hanging out at the resort), my album ended up housed in 37 12x12 page protectors in one extra large Pioneer D-ring album. I had the pages copied for each of the kids' families and made into photo books. Those are less than an inch thick.

I finished my dd's high school album. Four years in one thick 12x12 album.
I finished two 8.5x11 Halloween layouts for my two youngest kids' albums. In the process I used up nearly all of my Halloween stash. Great feeling. Now I need to pick some new stuff up.
I am out of 8.5x11 page protectors. I have a stack of finished layouts that I can't put away yet. I'm waiting for back to school sales to buy more (I buy office max 100 ct box heavy duty no glare protectors).

I created 3 layouts today. watched a little tv, ate food. Life is good. But without any responsibility, I realized I'm exhausted. It's only 8:45 and I'm thinking a shower and bed. I'll create more tomorrow.

We are on holidays here from school, so I have had a little ore scrappy time. Last Sunday I spent the day dropping with friends and came home really inspired. Had a big clean out of my craft stuff and been using lots of older papers and embellishments- thanks to you all for inspiring me not to hoard the old stuff! Also went to our once a year scrapbook expo held locally- not huge- but lots on offer now that we have almost no stores left. Next Saturday I am off to a Stampin Up event, so feeling very scrappy lucky this month!

It's almost August and I've still put off working on photos. I really want them done but the process to get from where I am now to the point where they're ordered is my least favorite part of the process, lol!!

I think most of us hate the ordering process, too! I am trying to do it more often, so it's not such a big project.

I think most of us hate the ordering process, too! I am trying to do it more often, so it's not such a big project. Calling myself out helped. I went through and picked out my cell phone photos for May and June and am working on my big camera photos now. It's a big longer of a process (and I dread the editing) because it includes the end of the school year. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish that step in the process because I had mom duties, but hopefully starting will make it easier to continue the process!! I always have the best of intentions to stay on top of it, but most of the time when I realize I hadn't done it for a while, it just doesn't feel like as many months as it has actually been. At least this time it's only 2 months (at least, it is if I submit the orders before July ends, lol). I'm not a self starter...that's my biggest problem with most things in life!!

I finished putting together the last four months of my Scrapbook Generations kits. There is a lot of cutting and measuring so it took a while. Each kit has two double layouts and I do two kits for each month, so it took longer than expected.
Yesterday I went to the zoo with a good friend and her little girl. They have a new baby giraffe (#201 for the zoo), so pictures there. Then my son and girlfriend asked if I wanted to go up Pike's Peak with them (a four to five hour trip). It was of course thoroughly documented with pictures. And then today he texted me to see if I would go with him to pick up "the ring." So not only did I not do the layouts I thought I would get done this weekend, but I have added a ton more pictures to be scrapped.
When I asked my son how he was going to pop the question, he said he wasn't sure. The only thing he knew was that he wanted both moms to be there. Ha. Definitely more pictures for that!

Also, how cool that he's including both moms.
