Someone correct me if I'm wrong ~ didn't CZ come back to her IG story and post more? I could have sworn she made a comment about instead of thumbing down that people should leave a comment instead. Did I dream that? She came back the next day and said that if someone doesn’t like a video, they should mark it “not interested” from the three dot down menu in the bottom right side of the thumbnail instead of giving a thumbs down. I think she did say constructive criticism was ok which was sort of surprising given the reaction to a thumbs down. Just so long as you don't have the cheek to question her design, because she knows what she's doing with design and anyone who dares suggest otherwise will be told to shove it in no uncertain terms. I agree that she does know about design, but that doesn't mean everything she makes is designed perfectly, if there even is such a thing. I don't know if she actually responded to the person who questioned her design sense on YT, but we heard allll about it on IG stories and it was quite clear that that kind of feedback was not welcome.

Yes, she did say something about leaving a comment instead of a thumbs down. Hahaha. Why should I waste more of my time trying to explain the problem, when it's likely to cause a bunch of groupies to 'up in arms' in response? The entitlement is strong with this one! (CZ) Too old and cranky to get into petty arguments on the internet anymore. It's not my job to give people warm and fuzzies for something that makes me go 'ugh!'. My only gripe on this is that some people believe their best life is trying to rid the world of anything that doesn't conform to their expectations. Have to say Germany gets this one mostly right - one thing that should never be tolerated by society is intolerance.

I’m glad I didn’t imagine it! So, in one IG Story that CZ saved she goes off because someone leaves a criticizing comment and in another Story she says people should leave constructive criticism. So basically it’s whatever suits her that day.
This, BH, TC, etc, need to realize this is a.) their job and b.) social media is a hard thing. If they don’t like the feedback they are getting from their job they are more than welcome to find another one.

I have been gone for way to long from here. ♥️ I’m going to have to check out these videos..I haven’t been able to watch or make videos for months!!! I don’t pay attention to thumbs up or thumbs down on my videos. But I don’t care for rude or mean comments. If I dont enjoy a video, I just move along....no reason to comment, or thumbs down.

I didn’t know if you give a thumbs down it would stop unwanted YouTube videos from showing up on your feed. Normally if I don’t like something I just click off but I kept getting same artists who’s format or style I don’t care for. So I gave it a try and it works. I did try the three dots but that didn’t work, at least from my iPhone.

The first time I got a thumbs down, I’ll admit; I was a little sad. I mean it’s the first one.
Then they started popping up randomly and I’m feeling like hell yeah people are watching me enough to know if they like what I’m putting out there! I’m small potatoes compared to these broads, but even I know I’m not for everybody. They have a wider reach, more of a chance that they will be discovered by people who don’t like what they put out!
I’ve given out a couple of thumbs down in all my years of watching content and no, I don’t give a reason. I obviously didn’t like it, that’s why it’s getting a thumbs down.

I’m not sure about a thumbs up but I’m sure a thumbs down is anonymous. Maybe a pea YouTuber can tell us their experience. I don’t get a notification of a thumbs up, thumbs down, or when I get a comment on my own video. I have to log into creator studio to find that out. I get comment notifications, but not thumbs up or down

I’m late to this party, but I saw the JM stories and definitely eye-rolled pretty hard. This makes me wonder what they talk about amongst themselves if they allowed these types of things on their business accounts. It’s like the three of them had a little FaceTime session and decided it was time to be a social crafting warrior (just a small joke there ) and make posts without taking a step back to get some real perspective. The lack of being able to see past their charmed, privileged life is very telling. You’d think they would prefer a thumbs down to an unsubscribe, but I’m not so sure after the CZ rant.

I am disappointed in the bitter, harsh attitude of CZ rant. There are better ways the point could have been discussed.
I get that card-makers especially seem to be a largely delicate bunch (me included!) and don't like unsolicited constructive criticism, however we are all allowed to express our opinions in the the form of a thumbs up or thumbs down- that's why these platforms have rating systems. Crafting channels are not exempt from the participation of these rating systems. And in the big picture of things, if you have thousands of viewers and only a few thumbs down, that's still pretty amazing, you can't be everyone's favorite.
To say that everyone can have an opinion, but follow it up with "no one wants to see yours" is just such a hypocritical statement. Everyone can have an opinion, but only mine is right, is really what it seems to translate too.
And how about that positivity? Perhaps one needs to examine their own reaction to things and start with themselves. The more I see on social media platforms, the more I can't help but feel that there's a lot of this "Be Kind" promotion, but only if you're already part of the group. It definitely is feeling too clique-y and it just makes me sad. I'm thinking I need to take a break from these platforms.

Well I appreciate all the free (to me) techniques that some of them share so I will buy and I will use their affiliate links. I won't begrudge them their income for the many hours of video editing they do.

Don't look now, but JM has another 'buy this stuff with my affiliate links' tool video up. If I cared enough and was spiteful, I’d thumbs down it. I simply made a comment about the first product she used and where to get it for what is probably a mere fraction of the one she showed goes for.
I won't hate on her making these types of videos during the holidays because in my house (although last year we opted not to exchange gifts) my husband has a very difficult time finding things to buy for me because I don't give him ideas of anything I know he'll pay more for it than I would and that's most of the things I want, lol. If I give him crafty suggestions they are things I cannot get for a good discount. I've asked for a few PTI sets, the Ton products and tools in the past. Those videos can remind me of things I'd love to try and maybe forgot about (I don't keep a physical running list of things I want, just a mental one...I figure if I don't remember wanting it then it was hype, not a true desire to have and use the product) or give me ideas on something to suggest. But this random timing in the middle of July (not marketed as a Christmas in July thing) really comes across to me as a way to combine a lot of things she wants to shill in one video. I think the thing that REALLY bugs me about these videos from her is that she shares products that do the same thing (ANOTHER new black ink and stamp positioner, y'all) because there is no way at this point that she doesn't know there are some fangirls who will buy just about everything she features in a video. I don't use affiliate links for any big name and never will. I am more inclined to use them if someone I personally know includes them in their videos.

Can you share where? Does it have the sand type erasers or regular ones? It is an electric sand eraser. I got it from Daiso for $1.50 and then a refill of erasers, also for $1.50. Unfortunately, it's not a store that is everywhere but I wouldn't be shocked to see other chains carry something like it from time to time.
I think mine is the blue color. If you look around on eBay more than just that quick glance or even on AliExpress, I'm sure you'll find something cheaper.
ETA 2: It doesn't look like this one comes with the sand ones, so not identical (it was just a quick search after all) but you can get the refill sand type, too. Mine came with both and I bought the sand eraser style by itself in the refill.

Somehow I knew this would involve Kristina Werner. She is notorious for being a cry-baby when people give her a thumbs-down or - the horrors! - post a negative comment on one of her videos. I guess now her friends are doing the crying for her. One time she even went so far as to tell someone that she didn't have the credentials to make a negative comment. Seriously? We need credentials now to share our opinions? Not everyone is going to worship you and everything you do. Grow up and get a backbone. I've gotten thumbs-downs on my videos too. Big deal. You didn't like it? That's perfectly OK. I don't expect everyone to love everything I post. I'm a big girl. These folks would never last in the "real" world. That's why they live in their own little corner of the world, where all is rainbows and unicorns. SMH

Someone said that she would have used different colors, but went on to compliment KW anyway. That prompted KW to reply with a rather smug retort, touting her artistic training and background, while questioning the credibility of the woman who dared to state her opinion on color choice.

I am an Interior designer and use these when I work on designs. I get mine at Hobby Lobby. The one I have is about 5 years old, but I am sure they still have some version of it. Its in the art supplies section.

I have zero desire to know about the background of people who post on social media. Either I like their style or not. It's too bad she didn't realize it was nothing personal, just a preference on using different colors.

I don't click Amazon affiliate links because I don't believe crafters should get a % of my entire cart - let's just say I buy A LOT on Amazon. I don't mind them getting a piece of a product they recommended, but no way should they get a % of stuff that had nothing to do w/them. "Standard 24-hour Cookie The standard Amazon affiliate link gives you 24 hours for a customer to make a purchase, in order for you to earn a commission. This means that if a customer clicks your link and orders ANYTHING (almost anything), within a 24 hour window, you’ll earn a commission on those items. It’s a universal cookie, meaning that even if the customer clicks through your link to view a baby stroller, but ends up buying a new kitchen set, some dumbbells, and a ribbon for their dog, you’ll get paid for all of those items." www.authorityazon.com/90-day-amazon-affiliate-cookie-frequently-asked-questions/

Did she delete the comment? No idea. She doesn't really seem to do that, though. I have had her reply to comments I made in the past when she actually featured things that weren't brand new thanking her for demonstrating some products that people might already own rather than always using stuff that is brand new that a lot of people might not be able to afford. Her reply insisted that she never wanted to make people feel compelled to buy something. I mean...clearly that's a lie.

Have you seen the buzzfeed (or similar site) posts that round up the times that people who actually are super qualified make comments, get called out by the OPer for being unqualified, and then the OPer gets put in their place when the commenter reveals their credentials. It's great.
Something similar happened to me once. Someone shared a clickbait article on facebook that was trying to spin some tax reform stuff in a way that was sooo inaccurate. I commented how inaccurate it was and then got called out for "obviously" not knowing what I was talking about. I am a tax attorney that works in tax policy.

I am an Amazon Affiliate, so I appreciate when people use my links. I also understand why some people don’t want to do that. Either way, that’s OK. I’ll use affiliate links if I find their information useful. Unless it’s someone I really don’t like. I know that some might think that’s petty. I’m OK with that too. It’s actually my right as a consumer. To quote Captain America, “I don’t like bullies. I don’t care where they’re from.” And trying to bully people into keeping quiet about anything is extremely distasteful to me.

This is why I don’t comment with my suggestions. I don’t need a bunch of fangirls harassing me just because I made suggestions on how to improve someone’s video. Plus it seems I don’t know enough about youtube. I’m logged in and I can subscribe to channels but when I try to thumbs up or down it won’t. So I don’t bother thumbing anything anyway and don’t know if I can even comment
