Good afternoon! Sorry I have been out of the loop this week.. It is fair week and luckily it is coming to a close.. We have been out every day to help friends with their goats and our rabbit is at her last fair. She is soaking up all the attention from fair goers. I apologize if I missed anyone but I was trying to read through the thread since the last time I posted and was taking notes.. scrapincin --- love the "Best Day Ever" LO. those colors really pop! Pam -- love both of the LOs you posted! They are absolutely fabulous! Nylene -- did you enjoy your trip? Did you get anything accomplished? I am still trying to get that circle/mickey head border converted into a SVG file. I will get that done by this weekend. annchristine -- love both LOs. Those are darling. Buffy -- congrats to my nephew on his wheels!! He must be proud! Kelly -- love your new painting. I have absolutely no painting skills. My husband does not even allow me to paint walls.. he says I can not paint evenly... So I just supervise! LocoCoco -- I hope you find your motivation.. If you have any to spare, will you send some my way? I plan to get back to scrapping on Sunday while doing laundry! I have stacks of photos and sketches picked out I just need some me time! I hope to scrap this years 4-H fair events by the end of July. I also hope to catch up our family Christmas album by the end of next week. I hope everyone has a great weekend! I hope to check back in later today if not tomorrow for sure.

Box Card instructionsThere's the link to the video that provides awesome instructions on how to make a box card. You can get Silhouette files that are already created but with this video you can make them on your own. She provides very easy to follow directions.

Corinne, 65 degrees in summer in Texas? Wow! That's chilly!
Theresa, thanks for posting the box card instructions. I love following your cards because you are always learning something new and then I get to try it. Did I tell you I made a red, white and blue deco wreath for my door? Ash and Lys are going to make small ones in their room colors and enter them in the County Fair. Another thing I learned from YOU.
Nan, please don't stress about the Disney border. I have many, many pages to do and I'll take it when you have the time. I don't want you worrying about it. We will be involved in Fair projects soon but our fair isn't until Aug.
Pam, sounds like Ruby Thursday was fun again. Aren't you glad to have her living so close? Having family around is such a blessing.
Kelly, I love to "hear" the excitement in your typing when you are talking about your art. You are doing so well. I'm sure Ron is so proud of what you are doing.
Hi, Cindy! I thought about you as we went up into the mountains and saw all the hiking trails. I wish I could have taken you with us.
Our cabin trip was really fun. We learned to make our own washi tape....a fun concept, but much too time consuming and messy when I can buy it at Walmart. We made 4 cards start to finish with just stuff in Michael's $1.50 bins. I think my friend spent about $9 and 6 of us made 4 cards each, and she continued making cards with the leftovers. We made the box cards and several of the women made 2 or 3 while they had all the materials out. It was fun to see the individuality. Our only bad thing about the trip was that we hit a deer on the way back down. It was dusk and it jumped right in front of the car. We were all OK, but the deer was badly hurt but managed to hop away. The car damage was minimal. We were very fortunate that it didn't come through the windshield.
Ann, I have to tell you again, I love your scrapping style!
I hope you are all having a nice summer. It seems to be slipping by too quickly. I know this is a very busy time for all of you. It's nice to "see" you popping in when you can. Have a great weekend!

I know you are all less computer-challenged than I, but I just learned how to bookmark this thread. If you don't know, go to the top of the page or thread and click on Actions. It give you the option of bookmarking and then you will find it in your Bookmarks which are right under the title of 2Peas Refugees. I find I learn so much when I poke around here. But a new site always throws me for a while.

Happy Saturday! Hope you all are doing well. I am working on a couple of cards and still feeling stuck. I think my card mojo is still needing a little rest. I have been working on them on and off for a few weeks now and still not done. Planning to get out and get to the bay. Should be a nice afternoon. Thanks for all of you that saw my latest painting and/or left praise on my blog. I love how she feels so calm and peaceful like she is resting. So I keep looking at her and my head leans to the side too. Nylene- OMG, a deer? Wow, so glad you are ok and the deer survived. Also, you did have a fun time on your trip. Hope you share some of your projects. Yes, Ron is very proud of me and I am in heaven when I am crafting away. I did post more on my blog if you haven't checked it out. Nan- I am glad you are enjoying your 4-h time. I was a 4-h girl with a lamb named Peter. Only did it that one time and I was done. But if I had known about all the arts and crafts categories that Nylene told me about, maybe I would of jumped in those. Pam- Any warmer yet? Do I need to send more sunshine? Waving hi to you all! Have a super Saturday!

Hi Fellow Pokeys!!!
We spent the last couple of days in Chicago spending some time with the kids before Mal and Grif go back to school in about a week. We walked all over Chicago and we had a nice time. The girls did some back to school shopping while Grif & Ron went to the Museum of Science. Grif LOVED it, they got to make tornados and tsunamis, so he had a grand time there. I'm dead tired after all of the walking and driving, but it was fun. Mallory starts show choir camp on Monday morning, so she will be gone most of her last week of summer, but she is really looking forward to it.
Olivia, Mal and I are all going to a concert tomorrow night with a friend of mine. We are seeing Matt Nathanson and Gavin DeGraw. That should be fun too, we are closing out summer with all kinds of fun activities.
I signed up to go to a crop in September too. It's here in Indy for a weekend. It's put on by MVP Scrappers, I've gone to several of their events and it's always fun. It will be fun to have some time set aside to scrap again. I've gotten a few LO's and a couple of canvases done lately, I just continue to have issues with my computer, so I can't scan right now...which is annoying. It's probably all user error, that would be par for the course with me.
Nylene - I love the LO that you just posted. Cassidy is beautiful and I love the LO...it's so pretty!
Hope you all are having a nice weekend!

Happy Sunday! I had a nice day yesterday. We went to ourlocal beach/bay area and it was so cool because there were 2 wedding going on. I just love weddings so it was fun to check out both reception areas and see all the beautiful decorations. I didn't get a good look at the brides but wanted to see them and their dresses. It was surprising cloudy and cold there so I am sure the bride that had the outdoor ceremony must of been a little disappointed the weather wasn't sunny. But it was still very fun to see.
Pam- Oh, I wish I was going to SF! LOL! But we went to the bay here in So Cal. It was not too far and it is where we have our wedding reception so it is one of my happy places. With all the wedding stuff going on there we didn't stay long but went to another spot around there to relax and see the boats. So fun! Also, so glad my "gift" reached you!
Tina- Boy you have been busy and having a great time! Awesome!
Theresa- Thanks for sharing the box card! Gotta check it out.
Nylene- Oh, so glad you like the painting. I use acrylic paints, colored pencils and watercolor crayons. I love added the extra circles or things to it. Fun to add some nice messiness to it. The splatters, drips and bubbles are a story to my work too. Oh, your lo is sooooo pretty. I just love the flowers and the soft colors. SO beautiful! Left some praise on your photobucket.

Hi Girls! I am finally back. Went to PA for a few days to visit Bob's cousins! We had a nice time. Brought home tons of cucumbers, some sugar snap peas and of course fresh picked blueberries for my grandson! He loves them! I think I have caught up on all the great works of art, and most of the chat! It is good to be home!

Cindy, we missed you while you were away. The produce you brought home sounds delicious!
Kelly, your trip to the bay sounds nice and peaceful. Sorry the weather wasn't perfect for those weddings. I love looking at wedding decorations too.
Pam, I think that little Ruby is so cute. She never takes a bad photo. I left you some love on Photobucket.
Tina, your trip sounds like fun. I loved Chicago the one and only time I was there. That museum sounds like fun. It must be like the Exploratorium in San Francisco. They have just opened a Museum of Curiosities locally that partners with the Exploratoriam in SF to trade exhibits. I haven't been yet, but my grandchildren have all gone with the other grandparents who were here visiting. Your Sept. crop event sounds like fun. Are you making up kits to take?
Theresa, are you doing any scrapping or card making? How's the job search?
Buffy and Nan, are you Disney scrapping? I have a few photos on my desk I want to get through first, and then it will be Disney, Disney, Disney!
Have a nice day everyone. We are having beautiful weather. Hope it holds out for the weekend. We will be traveling to Idaho for a big family reunion on the Snake River at my brother's home. The 24th is a big holiday here and there will be lots of fireworks, barbecues, etc. for Pioneer Day.

Wow Nylene sounds like the next few days are going to be so much fun for you and your family. I think it is great that you celebrate Pioneer Days. You are the only place I have heard of doing that. If it weren't for the Pioneers we would still be on the east coast!!! Have a great time at your family reunion and a safe trip. It was our first real trip in the new car and It was very nice. No rouching around in the seat. Plenty of room to bring extra things home too. Bob's cousin lives on a mountain side but he grows so much there. There were baby fawns in the back yard checking everything out. No doe was seen but I am sure she was close by. We also went to a graduation party/going away party for a nice young man. He will be leaving for basic training in Oklahoma in about one week. Trying to catch up today-laundry you know The kids will be here the next 3 days They had a great vacation. Camping, seeing the ocean, amusement park, one place that Becky said was fun but also educational. Then to Va & kayaking and canoeing. Sounds like fun to me! Ok I have written a book so will BBL!

Happy Monday! Hope you all are doing well today. I hope to get some art done today. Yesterday, we went to a park and it was so fun and relaxing laying under the trees. A nice cool breeze mixed with the sun was a perfect day to me. I took some silly pics so now I have something else to scrap! So this should be another fun thing to do this week.
Cindy & Nylene- Thanks for the praise on my blog about my Soul Sistah. I am looking at her now and my head is leaning to the side too. Awwww, peace and rest!
Cindy- Wow, you had a fantastic trip! All those veggies and blueberries sound so good. Glad you all enjoyed your new car and family. We will be seeing some layouts soon? Think so!
Nylene- I haven't heard of Founder's Day holiday either but it sounds like a blast! I say the more holidays the better. Oh and the lo of your dgs is so nice. I like the clouds and the hearts coming from them. I am going to your Photobucket to leave some praise, too.
Waving hi to everyone!

I did 2 simple pages yet they still took me forever A friends wedding. I used her invitation as the inspiration and somehow I wore a contrasting orange dress that went perfect! not planned We rescued Lexi from a shelter about 4 hours away from us and took her in as a foster dog. She was only supposed to be with us temporarily but her spirit and personality reminded me so much of a previous dog I had and lost that we had to keep her. I absolutely fell in love with her! she is *my* baby

Nylene, I haven't had time this week to scrap. Our school is having a huge rummage sale this week so we are up to our eyeballs in donations. I hope to finish the June 2010 trip and start on my Dec 2005 trip this week. I still can't decide if I want to do traditional, digital or PL.

Corinne, those are great pages. I love to see classy 8.5x11 pages. So much easier for me to scraplift! You do wonderful work! Cindy, I'm glad you took some photos. I didn't take a single photo at the cabin. Sometimes I wonder where my head is. I was too busy scrapping! Buffy, good luck with the rummage sale. I hope you make a lot of $. Nan, how's the Fair going? Waving to everyone! I have really been scrapping. I've actually done 3 pages this month. I may make it to 4 when we get back. Here's Angie's darling baby.

Hello all you pokeys... sunny day here, wishing the same for you!! Locococo, love those darling layouts... great photos!! Worked in the yard this am... it is so humid,I had to come in to cool off. My two most hated chores.. weed whacking and weed whacking!! Looks better but how come I don't feel better, lol! Nylene,I hope you have fun with your reunion. I believe, that I went white water rafting on the snake river... many years ago in my youthful days, lol. It was beautiful there and I remember having lots of fun.Don't forget to take pictures!! Bianc, choose digi,it is quicker and you seem like a very busy person. You can always do traditional on the slower times when you reach that point!! Cindy,I will stop by for some blueberry pie... call me as you take it out of the oven and I will bring the home-made ice cream. Is Bobby full of berries yet? Well,my break should be over... Soon Come Hello to all!! Getting in touch with my artsy side on this one... loved the dotted cup!!

Sweet! Pam- Oh, I really like that red and white tea cup too. So lovely! Corrine- What fun and beautiful pages you made. Looks like you had a great time. And also the one featuring your baby was a special story. Regarding seeing my latest art if you can't get my blog, I posted it here too. Mixed Media Board

Welcome TriplettKarla! So nice to have new members join the Pokey Pea Refugees. Tell us about yourself and post anything that you do. It can be a card, art journaling, scrapbook layout, altered item or anything else related. Cindy, I'm waiting for you to deliver that Blueberry Pie to me! Pam, do you have a collection of teacups? That red one is so pretty. Love your layout. Instead of doing what I should be doing today, I've been scrapping and organizing. I have finished 4 cards, but haven't scanned yet. I did scrap a 5x7 of grandson, Cade. I scrapped a smaller version of this photo earlier, but this is the one I will hang in my entryway with all the other grandkids photos. I don't get a lot of photos of him, Cassidy or Connor. My son is not that into photos like my daughters are! LOL! Super simple and quick to do. Used some of the Echo Park stickers I got at the Warehouse sale.

Welcome triplettkarla,we are happy to have you join us. Jump right in and hope you love it here as much as I do. Nylene, that is one handsome grandson, hope you get more shots of him for your grands collection.
Thanks Nylene,Kelly and Cindy for your nice comments about my tea cup layout. Yes Nylene, that is another thing that I collect... where does it end, lol!!
Tonite was a bonus Ruby night and we had so much fun. She went swimming in her little pool and splashed all over. She was off to the driveway and we didn't want that,so I said awe come on back up to the deck so I have someone to talk to,she said"papa talk to gg".She comes up with the cutest sayings. She gets to come again tomorrow nite,so I will probably have stories to tell.
Well,it is shower time for me,then I will probably do some reading. I am trying the Kindle unlimited trial,so I found a few books that I thought sounded good. Unfortunately, none of my favorite authors are in the unlimited library... oh well. If I don't like the trial,I can cancel any time before the 30 days are up. I am still pondering whether I will keep it.
Hello to all,Soon Come Pam

Hello Pokeys!!! I hope that you are all doing well! I had a busy day at work today, we are getting ready for our annual meeting on Friday, so I've been writing the speeches for our board chair and one of our volunteers...then tomorrow I need to write mine. Mallory, my 16year old dd, is at show choir camp this week. They are working on a show that they will put on this Saturday, it is always a good time and she is loving it. Kelly - I'm so jealous that you live near the beach...I would love that! Nylene - You are on a roll! I love the LO's that you have posted this week. My fave is Connor's LO with all of the clouds...but they are all so very fabulous. Corrine - Love your LO's too. Your designs are so clean and pretty. Well, I need to get to bed. Take care ladies!

Hi All.
Things have gotten extremely crazy here at home. Lots of temporary changes. Our eldest (my stepson) will be moving back in with us for a bit due to extreme circumstances.
The fair went great! Got blue ribbons in woodworking and archery poster. Our little rabbit is officially retired... she was evidently so excited and glad to be home that she escaped from her cage and was laying in the yard by our bench when we got up the next morning. When DH went out to see what it was she came hopping right to him like "wow, look what I did!".
I have been sorting some photos I was given and hope to have them finished in the next few hours. I also had some in a drawer that I forgot about so those will be sorted by year so I can get to them and they will be organized.
I hope to do some scrapping yet today.. as I know this will be therapy over the next several months that I will definitely need. I have so many pages just need embellishments or journaling.
My house also has stacks of moving boxes/dorm items getting ready to move 2 of the kids off to college in August.
I have looked at the new LOs they are all amazing!!
I hope to check back in yet this afternoon but it will depend on how much I accomplish on my to do list.
Have a great day everyone!
