I worry about that too, our neighbor has a farm and she's out there every day by herself. Her DD works so she's not always around.

Good Morning Peas! Kids will be here in a few but thought I would write a quick note. Heard from Leslie last evening. She is doing well and found a site that combines her creative side with her teaching side She creates games and items for her classrooms and then sells them bringing in extra income. Son is in college and daughter just graduated and is going off to college in a few weeks. Everyone is doing well. I gave her links to our thread and this site and she said she will try to stop by when she can!

Hello all! Nylene, I hope your neighbor recovers well, that sounds really scary! Pat, have a great trip! Kelly, what kind of art do you do? It's another sunny, summer day now that the clouds have burned off. I love So Cal summers! Wish I was a teacher or something so that I could actually have summer off, but oh well. We make the best of it Got off my butt last night and actually did two layouts, although I stayed up way too late doing them and am paying for them now...zz... My scrapping goes in fits and starts. I have no dedicated space, so when I bring my stuff out, I try to do as much as I can before I have to pack it up again. We're having Bible study at our house tomorrow night so tonight everything is going away. I'll post pictures of my layouts later |

Annchirstine, have you ever thought of kitting your layouts? Here is a tutorial on kitting that my friend did on the DISBoards Basically you build a kit with pics, paper and embellishments and put them in a 2 1/2 gallon hefty ziploc bag. I'm anxious to see that kit tutorial, Buffy. I have a friend from 2peas who gave me her version of how to kit and it has served me well. I mostly scrap at home though, and don't kit much. I did a layout while the girls were using the Cricut and scrap stuff, so I could help if needed. Now if I can just post it right. Well, that didn't work. I'll try again. Well, that didn't work either. Not much embellishing needed. I tried using some VERY old rub-ons and with a little work they went on the textured paper. I need to use or purge some of my old stuff. I have the 2 girls here helping use some of the OLD, OLD stuff. It's fun to see them so excited about things I've had since 1994. |

Buffy, I can't get your kit link to work. It sounds like a great tutorial.
Kelly, didn't see your post til after I posted for the THIRD TIME trying to get the page posted. Your art is amazing. I love the bubbles and flakes and interesting textures that they add to your art. I wish you lived next door so I could learn from you. I'm so intimidated by faces. You do such delightful hair. I can tell you are loving this. Keep up the good work. We want to be able to say "we knew her BEFORE she became famous".
Ann, don't forget to post your layouts. I know how hard it is to scrap and have to put everything away. Being an empty-nester has some advantages. DH came home from a Dr. appt. with a cancer diagnosis 10 years ago and insisted that the guest room become a scraproom. I thought that was very thoughtful that he was worried about me instead of himself. He has had another DX of cancer, but with surgery and treatment he is still going strong. I'm so grateful for this room each time I walk into it. It's nice to just close the door on the mess.

Nylene my DH loves tractors he has restored a couple. There is a big steam engine & tractor show there. WELCOME, NAN! I had to chuckle out loud about the fighting over the remote. Having had 10 grandchildren in and out the last couple of weeks, I wondered how I ever accomplished anything when the kids were young!
Now 3 of us will be working on Disney pages so we can encourage each other. So glad to have you on board!
Buffy, that tutorial is great. It's nice to have the photos. It's similar to what my friend suggests, but the photos really help. Thanks so much for sharing. I can't believe she could have 150 pages kitted. Wow!

We used to go to the crops at Disneyworld for a long weekend (SDV) so we would spend a few weeks kitting everything. Rebecca and Nan can blast through some pages, they amaze me!! I believe Rebecca got most of those pages done the last SDV. She was a scrapping machine.
I am definitely pokey though! I maybe get 10-30 pages done in a month.
Nan keeps me on track though, we usually get together virtually a few times a month and scrap, even though we live about 1500 miles apart.

Thank you for the welcome!! Yes, the remote battle has gotten crazy here...but I finally had to put my foot down and pull the mean mommy card because they were fighting over the remote but they all 3 had their laptops and the 2 little boys (18 and 13) had their iphones! Give me a break seriously! I am demanding a scrap day tomorrow after my appointment! I hope to do at least 10 pages tomorrow (they are PL style for our family 2014 album). This weekend I plan on working on my Disney 2010 album.

Thanks everyone for the praise about my art. For those who don't know I am an avid cardmarker and sometime scrapper. Then all of a sudden I wanted to learn to draw. I used one of my dh's art books and boom... I was drawing. I only started maybe two yrs ago. So I am so surprised to see what I am doing, too.

Nylene- Thanks for the praise. So sweet! Yeah, if we were neighbors look out world. lol! I would be enjoying your scrap room like your kids.  I really like your lo of Angie's family. The doilies on the edges was such a soft touch. So sweet!
Pam- I know your grands loved having your pancakes. Such a happy food. SO if I went on a virtual trip, I would come to Nylene's for craft day and then over to your house for Pancakes. Could you make me some blueberry ones? Then, I would visit Cindy's so we could walk at those amazing parks near her. What a trip it would be! |

Pam, I can't believe the difference between boys and girls. Ruby sounds like she is calm and fun, Alex is just a little whirlwind. It's hard to play with him, because by the time I get onto the floor with him, he's off somewhere else. What a busy little boy. But I love, love, love having him here. So glad you had a great time with Ruby....and glad you didn't try to ride in her car! LOL!
Kelly, start saving your pennies for that vacation. I think if you come here first, I'm hopping in with you to visit Cindy and Pam! How's the guitar coming?
Buffy, I have never even been to the Disney boards. They have layout galleries? I used to frequent the Disney board hosted by Susan Stringfellow and Tami, but after I scrapped my last trip I really didn't think I'd ever have a chance to go again. That was in 2008. So this trip in Jan was a great bonus! Can't wait to see ALL your pages.
Nan, what is it with technology and kids? They think they have to have several devices going all the time. Makes me laugh. I taught my granddaughters how to play Jacks and they played for an hour. They think my OLD games are so much fun. Now they all want Jacks. I think I'll get them some and let them make little fabric bags to hold them.
Pat, how was the trip?
Cindy, thanks for contacting Leslie. I knew she was hoping to get involved in making teaching aids. Glad that's working out for her. I hope she'll drop in once in a while to say "hi". Val emailed and said she's got a lot going on, but will stop by too. It's so good to hear from friends.
