Rachel Maddow...
”Read this about the Trump Admin killing off the science units at the Agriculture Dept. Termination notices are apparently going out now -- most of these units will lose almost all their staff. Decades of priceless high-level scientific expertise, all off-loaded indiscriminately:”
Amanda Crump...
“I walked the emptying halls of @usda_NIFA and @usda_ERS on Tuesday. This is a thread about how mad I am.”
“2/10. I sat and cried with colleagues. Some being forced to retire when they didn’t want to because they can’t uproot their spouses and it is near to impossible for an older spouse to find a new job in Kansas City.”
“3/10. Some are at that middle age (my age). Too young to retire. Too old and high in the GS scale to find another government job. Been a dedicated public servant for 30 years. Why aren’t they moving? They can’t uproot their families.”
“4/10. I think the reason I’m the saddest is the way this was done. Not knowing where they would have to move. Then given only weeks to decide. And only 90 days to retire, find a new job or get to Kansas City. That’s why we lost 2/3 of them.”
”5/10. There isn’t even a real office waiting for the ones who are moving. They don’t even know if they will eventually be working in Kansas or Missouri. How do people plan? How do spouses find jobs? How do kids find schools?”
“6/10. We, at the land grant universities, did not do enough to communicate how this would hurt us and hurt American agriculture. @aplu_GovAffairs did not do enough. @ucdaviscaes did not do enough. I did not do enough.”
“7/10. So what does this mean for rural America?”
“8/10. First, as an example, I’m at the @ruralsociology conference and just heard important research about the rural opioid crisis by an @usda_ERS colleague. He can’t move. So, this research ends now. In the midst of a crisis that is killing rural people.”
”9/10. Those of us working on @usda_NIFA grants will surely see a slow down in funding because it isn’t just @usda scientists who are not moving but it is the staff who process reports and awards. That hurts American farmers and American rural areas.”
”10/10. This is a destruction of science by this administration. By @secretarysonny. This ends my angry rant but not my anger. And not my sadness.”
One of the most destructive part of the trump presidency is the deliberate wholesale drain of expertise. Expertise that helps keep Americans safe. And the only reason it’s being done is because it gets in the way of someone making a buck. Or it’s being done to protect trump.

”cause big disruption by going to Manhattan. Working almost all of the time, including evenings. Don’t have to be in W.H. to do that...And sooo many other false statements. He is right about one thing, though. I will win again in 2020. Otherwise, he pays 95% in taxes!”
Kyle Griffin..
“According to the pool report, Trump starts his day at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ.
This is Trump's 217th day at a Trump golf club and 285th day at a Trump property as president.”
This is a vacation and for the record I don’t care that he is taking a vacation, everyone deserves time off, even this jerk. But I’m tired of his spin because we all know he is lying.

There have been some modifications to the moving... Some will be able to telecommute until January(?).. There are still questions as to whether this is legal or not. Supposedly Congress has to approve it and of course hasn't... They have no real offices there only temporary necessitating another move.. ”Got to see, by accident, wacko comedian Bill Maher’s show - So many lies. 🎶. #MAGA! 🎶. Roll Call... “Senate GOP plans to divert health, education funds to border wall”“$5 billion move would set up clash with Democratic House over fiscal 2020 spending” Senate Republicans are looking to pay for President Donald Trump’s border wall in part by putting about $5 billion less in the largest domestic spending bill, several people with knowledge of the process said. That move signals a likely fight over wall funding, as well as over Trump’s ability to reprogram or transfer funds to the border, when the fiscal 2020 appropriations process resumes after Congress returns in September. According to several people familiar with the process, Senate Appropriations Chairman Richard C. Shelby, an Alabama Republican, wrote an allocation for the fiscal 2020 Labor-HHS-Education spending bill that is about $5 billion lower than it would have been to provide funding for the wall. Congress and the White House reached agreement on a budget deal raising discretionary spending caps for fiscal 2020-21, clearing the way for the Senate Appropriations Committee to begin marking up spending bills. The panel has held back action thus far in anticipation of a bipartisan, bicameral topline agreement, finally reached late last month. Trump’s push for funding to extend barriers on the southern border, combined with many Democrats’ opposition to it, is likely to produce a clash in the fall. Congress earlier approved $1.3 billion in wall funding for fiscal 2019. Trump asked for an additional $8.6 billion in his fiscal 2020 budget for border barriers — $5 billion in Department of Homeland Security construction accounts, and $3.6 billion for the Pentagon to assist with the project. Trump earlier this year declared a border emergency and tapped existing statutes to shift $6.7 billion mainly from Pentagon budgets to fund wall construction. The Supreme Court last month cleared the way for the administration to divert $2.5 billion out of defense programs for the wall, blocking a challenge from environmental and other groups. Shelby’s provision for wall funding is not surprising. At the very least, it sets the table for a negotiation with the Democrat-led House, which did not include any wall funds in its Homeland Security bill, and sought to tie the administration’s hands in transferring military and other funds to the border project. In the Senate, it takes 60 votes to end debate to pass appropriations bills. While many Senate Democrats are expected to oppose $5 billion in wall funds, one former GOP aide said the Labor-HHS-Education bill may be “generous” enough to attract Democrats’ support despite their objections. Somehow I don’t think so.

United States Attorney General should be bipartisan/non political, Right? Should not be supporting or criticizing candidates for political office! ** U.S. Attorney General William Barr blasted progressive district attorneys as “anti-law enforcement” in a speech Monday to the Fraternal Order of Police.“These anti-law enforcement D.A.s have tended to emerge in jurisdictions where the election is largely determined by the primary,” Barr told the organization's 64th National Biennial Conference in New Orleans. “Frequently, these candidates ambush an incumbent DA in the primary with misleading campaigns and large infusions of money from outside groups,” he added. Barr did not identify any of his targets by name but D.A.s such as Philadelphia’s Larry Krassner and Rachael Rollins of Suffolk County, Mass., as well as public defender Tiffany Caban, who lost the Democratic primary for Queens D.A. by only about 60 votes, have made national headlines for their vows not to prosecute certain non-violent offenses. “Some are refusing to prosecute various theft cases or drug cases, even where the suspect is involved in distribution. And when they do deign to charge a criminal suspect, they are frequently seeking sentences that are pathetically lenient,” Barr said. “So these cities are headed back to the days of revolving door justice. The results will be predictable. More crime, more victims,” he added. Barr blamed high crime rates in the early 1990s, when he served as attorney general under then-President George H.W. Bush, on "'reform’ that turned our criminal justice system into a laughable revolving door.” ** thehill.com/homenews/administration/457120-barr-predicts-progressive-prosecutors-will-lead-to-more-crime-more

“TRUMP'S SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE TELLS JOKE ABOUT WHINING FARMERS TO ROOM FULL OF FARMERS, GETS BOO'D”
“President Donald Trump's Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue cracked a joke that American farmers "whine" about Trump's trade war with China and got laughs as he intended but also boo's from audience members that seemingly found it insensitive.
"I had a farmer tell me this in Pennsylvania," Perdue said at a farm show in Minnesota last Wednesday, according to Agri-Pulse. "He said, 'What do you call two farmers in a basement?' I said 'I don't know, what do you call them?'"
Perdue said the farmer said: "A whine cellar."
There was laughter but boo's came as some members of the crowd did not find Perdue's joke funny, just two days after China declared it would no longer buy any American agricultural products to hit back at Trump for imposing an additional 10 percent tariff on Chinese goods.
Perdue made the joke at the end of a back-and-forth with farmer Mike Peterson of Northfield, Minnesota. Peterson said that a June Acreage report by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)'s National Agricultural Statistics Service was "speculative," which Perdue denied by saying the officials "are professional." Petersen then complained that the data has been released several weeks after farmers were surveyed and joked, "the show American Idol can tabulate how many votes in the course of an episode?" “ Trump's tariffs on China have led to farmers filing bankruptcy at never-before-seen rates.
Minnesota Corn Growers Association President Brian Thalmann said farm producers are not "starting to do great again" and that "things are going downhill very quickly."
American Soybean Association member Joel Schreurs expressed concern about export markets with the ongoing trade war and predicted the markets are "just not going to come back in a day or two."
But Perdue stood by Trump's pressure on China and belief that the United States will come out on top in the end.
"China is going to buy where they see the best value, when we get the trade resolution done," Perdue said. "We're working on markets in India, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia to develop other markets."
Come out on top at what cost?

”FOX NEWS HOST EXPRESSES FRUSTRATION THAT YOUNG AMERICANS BELIEVE IN CLIMATE CHANGE”
“Fox News co-host Pete Hegseth criticized 2020 presidential hopeful Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont for being concerned about climate change, lamenting the fact that "young kids voting" are worried about the global threat.
"The left says it all the time, it is their religion," Hegseth said Tuesday morning on Fox News morning show Fox & Friends after a clip of Sanders classifying climate change as the "major national security issue" for the U.S. was played. "They want to fight the weather. The rest of us want to deal with real threats that want to take away our freedoms."
Hegseth then made a comparison to President Donald Trump working to destroy the extremist group the Islamist State (or ISIS). "That's taking on a real threat directly," Hegseth said.” What about the guy with a gun who got into a gun battle with the police on a freeway in Southern CA that put a lot of innocent folks right in the middle of this gun battle. I saw an interview where a mom and her 2 kids were in a car when a bullet flew through the windshield just missing her and her two kids. One police officer killed, two others wounded.
Whether it's hot or cold, the enemy is here as far as liberals are concerned," he continued. "And it's all about control for them. That's why climate change is the perfect enemy," Hegseth said, lamenting the fact that climate change is currently taught at American institutions of higher education.
"By the way, it's what they're learning at college. They're not learning about radical Islam, they're learning about environmentalism and radical environmentalism," Hegseth said. "That's why these messages catch on, because young kids voting believe it."
Despite skepticism by Hegseth as well as many other right-wing pundits and politicians, including Trump, climate change is well-established by science. According to NASA, at least 97 percent of scientists regularly publishing on environmental science agree that climate change is caused by human activity over the last century. A report by the United Nations has warned that the world has a little more than a decade to take serious action to decrease greenhouse gas emissions and pollution before there is an irreversible impact on the global environment.”

NPR.. ”The Trump administration says its tax cuts and deregulation have contributed to the boom in oil and gas production in the U.S. That trend began well before President Trump took office.” link
NPR... “Energy Boom That Trump Celebrates Began Years Before He Took Office”From the article. ”The United States has become the world's leading producer of oil and natural gas — reshaping the global energy economy from the shipping lanes of the Middle East to the factories of the Midwest. President Trump hopes to call attention to that change on Tuesday when he tours a petrochemical plant in western Pennsylvania. Cheap and abundant energy has fueled a resurgence in domestic manufacturing. But the growth in oil and gas production began more than a decade ago — well before Trump took office. And U.S. factory gains have slowed amid the uncertainty of the president's trade war.”
This brings up the question trump supporters refuse to answer. What specifically has trump done to benefit the economy?

You got to love his explanation.
“That was a retweet': Trump defends sharing conspiracy theory linking Bill Clinton and Epstein”
“WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump on Tuesday defended his weekend decision to share an unfounded conspiracy theory on Twitter suggesting without evidence that former President Bill Clinton was somehow connected to the death of wealthy financier and accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
“He is a very highly respected conservative pundit,” Trump said Tuesday of Terrence K. Williams, the man whose tweet the president shared.
“He's a big Trump fan. And that was a retweet. That wasn't from me. That was from him. But he's a man with half a million followers, a lot of followers,” Trump continued, speaking to reporters as he traveled from his summer getaway in Bedminster, New Jersey, to Pennsylvania.
“Basically what we're saying is, we want an investigation. I want a full investigation,” Trump added.
Epstein was found unresponsive in his Manhattan jail cell Saturday. His death from an apparent suicide sparked immediate questions as to why he had not been monitored more closely. Epstein had not been on suicide watch at the time of his death, multiple people familiar with the investigation told NBC News.
Trump’s retweet of the conspiracy theory surrounding the cause of Epstein’s death sparked an immediate backlash. Democrats accused him of engaging in reckless behavior and using his position of power to attack political enemies. Attorney General William Barr announced Saturday that the Department of
Justice would open an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Epstein’s death.

Arrived in St Petersburg Russia. What is all the fascination with Russia? They hate gays as much as American evangelicals. (Watch Netflix's 'The Family') Oh, I'm sorry. They love the sinners, hate the "sin" as much as American evangelicals. You know, they love 'the gays' so much they want them to live lives of quiet desperation and/or loneliness and/or living a lie, all the better to please their unproven god and their 'holy' book's ideas.
