Ha! scrapnnana , I still have my little red with a lever die cut tool. I keep it because it is my scrapbooking "antique" I have the room for it, so I'll just keep it for now. Ol' Red is my main die cutting machine. Actually took it apart for servicing today (greased the metal-to-metal contact points, tightened all the screws, cleaned out the dust) and fully expect many more years of work out of it.

Sizzix/Ellison sucks. If they think bullying the competition and trying to drive them out of business is going to win them fans they are sorely mistaken. I love the Tim Holtz dies but I haven’t bought any since I learned about the lawsuit. If my Big Shot ever breaks I’m going with the Spellbinders Platinum. There are still lots of other companies out there I can buy from. But if they’re sued out of business there’s always AX.

I don't watch the stars either. Too much infomercial. The YT's that I d watch are still using Sizzix. To be fair these are mainly ladies that bought their Sizzix machines at TM or garage sales. Ladies like that & me really don't or should not care about lawsuits since we buy all our things on clearance or used, lol.
I wrote on a different thread around Mother's Day I got the Spellbinder's Platinum 6 (Jane Davenport). I am so very happy with this machine. It is well made machine, parts are all steel. The one grump I did have is that my base plate was a bit too thick for the machine. This is not a knock on the machine itself because we all know our machines are all configured differently, no matter who makes these machines. I could have loosened the machine myself but it's my Jane Davenport machine. I am a little protective. I love how pretty it is.
I got a Cuttlbug A Plate and it's a perfect fit. I can use my self healing mats. I have been using all my sandwich recipes I used with my Cuttlebug and they all work on my P6. I am so happy. I do not like Sizzix's sandwich recipes. The Spellbinder's sandwich recipes are pretty simple too.
Side note- I did not replace my BigShot because of the lawsuit. It was hurting my wrist and I had a couple of bad sprains from it. My DH got me another machine so I would stop getting injured. I picked the P6 because I do still use my steel rule dies with heavier materials.
I loved the little red lever Sizzix. That was my favorite Sizzix. I upgraded because idiocy. I really had no reason to upgrade, lol. I got mine for like $10. I see a lot of IG users still loving that machine to pieces.

I liked my red Sizzix, but I loved my Cuttlebug. I used it to cut make and take projects for the LSS, including literally hundreds for conventions. It’s still going strong. I could cut anything with it. It was light weight and portable and had a small footprint for storage. The down side was that I have to hold it with one hand and use the handle with the other. The newer versions were not made as well as the original ones. I’m glad my original is still going strong.
I finally got a Big Kick with a coupon, solely for the sturdiness, but it was looser. I now use it mostly for the 3D embossing folders that don’t want to go through my Big Shot, which is much tighter.
I did not know you could adjust the machines! However, they each seem to have one thing that they work for best (each different), and I have room, so I keep them.
I definitely prefer the Cuttlebug sandwich to the Sizzix sandwich version. I use the Cuttlebug plates in my Sizzix machines, although one of them came with a sandwich like the Cuttlebug’s, so now I use that.
With the red lever machine, I did not like having to cut in sections for the larger and longer dies, and I had a lot of those. Once in awhile, the card stock would shift and not cut right. Then I would have to start all over. I gave it to a friend when we were getting ready to move.
Of the manual cutters, the Big Shot is my favorite, with my old, original Cuttlebug running a close second. I have not tried the Spellbinders Platinum 6. I was considering buying it, but I wanted the Gemini and got it recently. I like it but I am still getting used to it. I have to refer to the book still for setting up the sandwich, and I don’t remember if it takes the thicker dies. I don’t think it does. Since I have other cutters that do, I was not concerned about that. I use my thin dies most of the time.
I did not buy the Gemini because of the lawsuit, but because it was motorized and got good reviews for cutting thin, detailed dies. I have a lot of those dies, and the Sizzix machines just don’t do as well in cutting the fine details.
I have way too many cutters, but they each seem to work best with one thing or another, and I have friends who frequently come to make cards or to scrapbook, so the machines all get used.
I am not going to criticize anyone who loves their Sizzix machines, dies, etc. i love mine. The whole lawsuit, though, makes me sick, so they have lost me as a customer, and I used to spend a ton of money on Sizzix products. They were once a great company. It just makes me sad and sick to see what has happened to them, and what they are doing to other companies with the lawsuit.

Ha! scrapnnana, I still have my little red with a lever die cut tool. I keep it because it is my scrapbooking "antique" I have the room for it, so I'll just keep it for now. I keep mine because I’m not running my thick dies thru my roller machine.

Any made by Sizzix, or that are the same thickness, go fine through the Big Shot/Big Kick, and many other roller machines. However, each machine varies in how tight it is. If they don’t seem inclined to go through, then I wouldn’t force it. My Big Kick is looser than my Big Shot. I just bought a Gemini. I don’t think it takes the thicker Sizzix dies, but even if it does, I wouldn’t risk it.

I’ve used the thicker steel rule dies with my Big Shot. You just don’t need the platform.
