I was browsing on ACOT and noticed that it said "Merry Days," by Maggie Holmes. I had no clue that she creative directed the collection. I'm definitely going to need them to choose her for a holiday collection more often if that was the result. I wonder who creative directed "Snow + Cocoa"? Ahh. This reminded me of a question I hoped you guys would be able to answer. Does Ali still design all of her products? Obviously her handwriting is all over them but I wondered if she does all of the designs...

So far, I've still bought nothing. Waiting for that Simple Stories holiday binder to become available from my French scrap store. What I did buy for scrappy purposes and will also use for my December album: Liz Tamanaha's brand new Happiness digital goodies from her Paislee Press store on the Lilypad (newsletter subscribers get a 50% off bundle link). Anybody else planning on using non-Christmas scrap stuff for their DD/JYC this year?

Does Ali still design all of her products? Obviously her handwriting is all over them but I wondered if she does all of the designs... No. She never did design everything. I have linked to the watercolour holly + leaf bundle as well as the vintage Santa head earlier in this thread (and I'm sure I could've sourced some more stuff from this year's product offer but I'm not interested enough/too lazy to get around to it ). Some of the design work is done by the in-house Inked design team (though we're not sure who's left at this stage), some of it is just clipart and vectors they purchased with a commercial use license online. Ali does some basic shapes, handlettering and basic pattern work. She has stated herself before that she doesn't do all of the design work, down to basic quote cards which were done by the Inked team.

Anybody else planning on using non-Christmas scrap stuff for their DD/JYC this year? My supplies usually contain very little Christmas themed stuff but that's largely because most collections are geared towards a wintery/cold Christmas and don't cater particularly well, in colour scheme or motifs, to warmer weather.

They are larger than Ali’s 3x8. It can actually fit as large as 5x8.5 ( I was wrong about the 4ish )inside I just mentioned it because of the shipping issue some people have That's my recommendation and message, marg , not hop2 's. Just to make sizes clear: the Citrus Twist can fit up to a TN page. Their full page protector (1 big pocket) is a TN size (4.25x8.25) and the largest page protector they have in store. However, they also offer a 3x8 page protector to fit those albums! They also have a very handy page protector that can hold a vertical 4x6 (with an extra 2x6 space to insert some journaling or pretty pattern paper). Oops see how much I know. Color me confused.

I usually spend a ton of money on DD products and I didn’t purchase anything yet. I’m definitely doing the 4x6 but I have a few different albums I picked up a few years ago when Ali had a Christmas sale. I did that size album in 2012 and it is my favorite. I’m hoping Ali decides to go with 4x6 this year.
I do like the gold foil 4x6 cards and the stamp with the lines on it but might wait for the digital versions. Does anyone know if you can still pick up the digital versions of Liz’s last two DD kits she did for Ali?

I’m now spending time on the paisley press blog looking at her album from 2011 and deciding less is more. I have visions of a very clean album with b&w. It’s a little away from my normal photography style but maybe I will try it. I have a bunch of felicity Jane stuff that could go well.

I wanted to share an awesome resource I use frequently that I'm not sure if most people know about. Unsplash.com is a site that offers completely free high resolution photos taken by professional photographers. They have photos for all sorts of subjects, including some gorgeous Christmas ones. I know photo-realistic paper is having a moment again, so you could easily create your own 3x4, 4x6 or 6x8 cards/inserts with some of these photos. You could also supplement your own album if you weren't able to get pictures of your tree or snow, etc (your secret's safe with me!). Thanks for sharing this. It's awesome! I'm sure I'll be able to use some of the bokeh backgrounds for some of my digital pages. Sometimes I just need a faded out bokeh kind of thing to go behind journaling, but all the houses I shoot photos in are very cluttered and colorful, so it's hard for me to use my own photos. (How can I convince the family to become minimalists so I can have cleaner backgrounds for my photos?! )

Some of Liz's stamps are digital too. 2018 stamp , 2017 stamp and 2016?.

I'm going to be buying ALL the crate paper.
I looked through all the xmas lines on the other thread and only added a couple of things to my cart at ACOT. I need to get the simple stories album from scrapbook.com but don't have the $55 in the cart for free shipping yet.
I spend about $50 on DD stuff -- page protectors, stickers, the triangle die cuts, the old red 4X6 album for the kid. I definitely got the big numbers and I'm so excited about them.

Yes, I go through my stash to find papers that are non-Christmas related to breakup the theme up a bit but to coordinate with the color story.

I have completed several DD albums over the years and I find using the smaller albums so hard. My first DD was in a Snap 6x8 and it is sooo full. I take alot of photos. More so than most for sure...lol.. I also have my mom's bday and my bday in December. I find it hard to just take a photo a day. There are some days where not much is happening and I just a take a selfie or a photo of my cat and tell the story of the days events.
The next year I used 12x12 and it was perfect. Full, but perfect. Again....photo heavy.
The last two years I have tried smaller albums. 2018 I used the Simple Stories Christmas album and the collection. I actually had to use two of the albums to make it all fit and it's tight...lol...
I love to hear the stories of those of you who can use the smaller albums....and the ones that are choosing the 4x6 album....that is amazing to me. So very cool!! I love the look of the smaller albums.
I feel like I'm doing too much for my DD. And yet, I love taking photos and adding all the photos in my album.
Not totally sure what I'm going to do. I might go back to 12x12 this year. It's so hard from me to get it all anything smaller.

I am feeling very snarky today, its the morning after! The DD IG account is annoying me. Showing videos of Ali and others taking an album and putting cards and transparencies into it - without actually doing anything with them is NOT selling me on the product and instead just makes me think, yeah those aren't selling. Same with taking a stamp and stamping it in all the different coloured inks they have. If you want to tempt me to buy your product, you are going to have to put more effort in.
Last night I made my own transparencies and tonight I am going to try and minc them. I'm also going to try and make those flag banners that are in the main kit as well as the plastic numbers. Ali's prices have really got me on the make my own track! And...tomorrow I'm getting felt and will make my own felt stars.

I liked some of the die cuts in the outrageously overpriced die cut package. I refuse to pay $13 when die cuts from Heidi Swapp or Pink Paidlee (as examples) are $5-$6. I have dies and stamps and patterned paper - I will make my own!

I remember when one of the designers maybe Teresa Collins has a paper out that used the same bought design as my blog banner at the time!

@millefeuilles Here ya go. Thank you nicolep! I thought there were more than a few pages back. I was sent a sneak of this a few weeks back that I promised I wouldn’t share, but i can say that the extra bits I’ve seen are very wintery. Definitely not looking like a line for us with a summer Christmas.. but I may be surprised at reveal as I haven’t seen much of it.

Ooops, sorry about quoting the wrong person - I obviously don't know what I'm doing, lol. Thank you for the links and for explaining everything about the Citrus Twist albums. I really do like their stuff. This may be a good option for me, I'll check it out further. Again, I appreciate it!

I find Color Cast Designs stuff too thick, and too theme-y. I do love her album covers though!
