I already ordered from Ali’s site but also remember seeing something a while back about AE DD designs going for sale on HSN but in different colors. Using last year’s design but a diff color way Curious on the price/timeline on that release (hoping for a stamp bundle)

I like some of the colour cast items but find those sort of acrylics usually too bulky to use. Maybe I'll just stick with a few layers cut from my Cameo.

So far, I've still bought nothing. Waiting for that Simple Stories holiday binder to become available from my French scrap store. What I did buy for scrappy purposes and will also use for my December album: Liz Tamanaha's brand new Happiness digital goodies from her Paislee Press store on the Lilypad (newsletter subscribers get a 50% off bundle link). Anybody else planning on using non-Christmas scrap stuff for their DD/JYC this year? That's an adorable collection. I sure wish Liz would get picked up by AC for a full collection. I adore her designs and would love some physical products I don't print myself.

I love to hear the stories of those of you who can use the smaller albums....and the ones that are choosing the 4x6 album....that is amazing to me. So very cool!! I love the look of the smaller albums. I feel like I'm doing too much for my DD. And yet, I love taking photos and adding all the photos in my album. I agree with what hop2 said - it's your album, if you enjoy "too much" it's not too much. Some people are minimal, some people can take 20 photos and only include one. Some of us are much happier when we include 15 of the photos with 5 different stories. That's OK. You do you. It makes me happy to include more and it bugs me if I skip over stuff (I'll go back to old albums to compare what day I shipped packages or how many people came to caroling). If 12x12 is the album size that fits your project, do that. No harm in admiring the small albums while knowing they wouldn't make you happy. Last night I made my own transparencies and tonight I am going to try and minc them. I'm also going to try and make those flag banners that are in the main kit as well as the plastic numbers. Ali's prices have really got me on the make my own track! And...tomorrow I'm getting felt and will make my own felt stars. I refuse to pay $13 when die cuts from Heidi Swapp or Pink Paidlee (as examples) are $5-$6. I have dies and stamps and patterned paper - I will make my own! YESSSS! We're creative people! We have supplies! I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with. Please share your own versions here if you make something. I'd love to see what people are coming up with, even though (or maybe because) I'm a digi person.

My supplies usually contain very little Christmas themed stuff but that's largely because most collections are geared towards a wintery/cold Christmas and don't cater particularly well, in colour scheme or motifs, to warmer weather. Ah yes, it must be a little annoying to see so many Christmas lines focus on the weather! But hey, chilling outside in the warm sunlight sounds like a wonderful way to spend the holidays... Oops see how much I know. Color me confused. Don't worry: it *is* confusing, I agree. I’m now spending time on the paisley press blog looking at her album from 2011 and deciding less is more. I have visions of a very clean album with b&w. It’s a little away from my normal photography style but maybe I will try it. I have a bunch of felicity Jane stuff that could go well. Liz's old physical documenting were part of my introduction to all things scrappy. Her 2011 and 2013 DD albums are some of my faves out there. I'm tempted to just go back to the aesthetic I started with. Those old albums I made have really stood the test of time... How can I convince the family to become minimalists so I can have cleaner backgrounds for my photos?! Call me when you figure it out! DD shop update: Looks like the pleather embellishments are sold out as well. Thank you for all the shop updates, pancakes ! Much appreciated. Yes, I go through my stash to find papers that are non-Christmas related to breakup the theme up a bit but to coordinate with the color story. Ah, a fellow colour story/scheme fanatic. I have a hard time straying from colours as well. Not totally sure what I'm going to do. I might go back to 12x12 this year. It's so hard from me to get it all anything smaller. Like others have stated previously: there's no one-format-fits-all or "better" format! If you enjoy taking loads of photos, please don't feel like you should do a smaller album and edit out pics just for the sake of conforming to the more usual DD album size. The only thing that matters is that you feel happy with your completed album! The Merry Christmas line is white (and not cream), so it all jumped into my cart. I'm looking forward to a cute album using something that actually made me smile when I looked at it. 100% approve of getting stuff that makes you smile! And that Steven Duncan line is a beauty... I am feeling very snarky today, its the morning after! The DD IG account is annoying me. Showing videos of Ali and others taking an album and putting cards and transparencies into it - without actually doing anything with them is NOT selling me on the product and instead just makes me think, yeah those aren't selling. Same with taking a stamp and stamping it in all the different coloured inks they have. If you want to tempt me to buy your product, you are going to have to put more effort in. What, you don't approve of this "product play"? My planner stickers are here today. I think that is a good timing for an order last Thursday evening those reindeer are too cute Glad your order has arrived and that you like your new planner goodies! That was quick from Germany. I was sent a sneak of this a few weeks back that I promised I wouldn’t share, but i can say that the extra bits I’ve seen are very wintery. Selfishly hoping it's not all snowflakes and frost! Thank you for the links and for explaining everything about the Citrus Twist albums. I really do like their stuff. This may be a good option for me, I'll check it out further. Again, I appreciate it! No problem! So many manufacturers are doing something different these days and well... I like the Color Cast Designs embellishments but I am just so not an acrylic user. At all. Samesies! I like some of the colour cast items but find those sort of acrylics usually too bulky to use. Maybe I'll just stick with a few layers cut from my Cameo. Good thinking, anniefb ! I hope you'll share your DIY "thin" acrylics with us all.

Some ideas I had are C is for Cookie, T is for Tree, S is for Stocking, and P is for Parade (or Present). I have not bought it yet because it is simple enough to do in photoshop and the digital version does not have the large letters.

I worked on my sons 3 by 8 school albums this weekend and they are so easy and fast. I ended up buying another 2 green linen albums, with the number of page protectors you get, this may be my new go to size.

Updating my Christmas Hallmark 2019 movie list after finally getting around to watching the second preview: - Two Turtle Doves featuring two Hallmark actors I really enjoy (Nikki Deloach and cutie pie Michael Rady) and what looks like possibly a family scrapbook! - Sense, Sensibility & Snowmen (and the cheesiest Christmas movie title goes to...)

Layla by Mail has her Christmas album kit up for preorder. I'm shocked she didn't use Simple Stories. She no longer works for Simple Stories; but Sn@p binders are made by SS. The list says it’s a red and white striped snap binder. Frankly, her instructions in her kits suck.

I’m using (2) 3x8 for each of my children just recording letters to them when I feel the need to write one. The green would work so well for my son. I really wanted navy and with a gold bookplate.

I like Nikki Deloach, too. I didn't think I'd like Michael Rady but I watched one with him last year and was pleasantly surprised. I also like Jen Lilly so I hope she's in one this year. Lifetime is coming out with 28 new Christmas movies, too. They're running from Oct. 25 to Dec. 25. I may have to switch to that network if Hallmark is going to keep running so many Lacey Chabert, Winnie Cooper (I forget her real name) and Stephanie from Full House movies. Lifetime has Hilarie Burton, Jana Kramer, and some other actresses I like. Lifetime's 2019 Christmas lineup

I've had a break from scrapbooking and thought there is no better way to return than with a December daily and all the hype that goes along with it. So happy the refugees are still around, I forgot how much I missed it. I ordered some of AE's but not the main kit just albums, the mini-kit and some other bits, I am not tired as some of you are of the AE aesthetic as I haven't been around to see it. Looking forward to all the fun and excitement!

A lot of excited customers in that group right now. Welcome back! DD is the one project I do each year if nothing else. It is my favorite!

I got my Elle’s Studio products in the mail over the weekend, and I really like them. Puffy stickers just speak to me, and I like that the colors are simple and straightforward. It makes them easier to mix and match with other products and designs.

Will I be horribly judged if I end up buying both die cut packs? They are absurdly overpriced, but I still really want them.
Also, I'm not into the Hallmark movies, but I think I should try again. I watched one last year about a prince and a chef? It was horrible, so I stopped trying. But my daughter and I are really into watching sappy love stories lately (hello Nicholas Sparks) and it could be something fun to do together.

janamke No judging or shaming in this thread! You can buy as much or as little as you want, you can go all out or be a hyper minimalist, you can do a full DD or just a few LOs, etc. Any kind of scrappy December love is encouraged! For anyone wondering, Simple Stories announced Layle's departure on social media earlier this year. They thanked her profusely and noted that she was leaving to spend more time with her family. There doesn't seem to be any bad blood or drama. I am surprised she didn't stick with them for her kits though.

I wish I loved something enough this Christmas to want both. The Hallmark movies are basically horrible. That's what makes them so endearing. Don't take them too seriously. Print off the Hallmark bingo cards or a similar game and embrace the corniness. Even my teenage son will watch knowing that he gets to chug eggnog or eat a cookie whenever a character slips on the ice or talks about a made up country or picks out the same tree as another unrealistically attractive member of the opposite sex. 😀

If the products are up your alley or make you happy, there's never anything wrong with that! Are you thinking of that Netflix movie with Vanessa Hudgens? She was a baker from Chicago (totally inaccurate scenes from Chicago, btw) who switched places with a princess/royalty who looked exactly like her by going to this televised baking competition. And she met a prince/royalty of some kind along the way and the princess fell in love with her business partner. It was a really bad movie. I don't even know if I finished it, but clearly I remember the synopsis.

My boyfriend watches them with me and we snort out laughing way too often. "Didn't see that coming!" "I know, right? Who'd have thought he was an undercover prince? Gosh darn it." It's become a fun tradition during late autumn. We love doing a mulled wine sip version of the Hallmark bingo card game. Guaranteed tipsy by the end of the movie.

I'm getting a bit bored documenting the same things during Dec and I like the idea of using the Love Language stamp from KP + the focus on finding things to be happy about (or bringing me joy) ....like today I would make a 3 by 4 card to document my orange which is very tasty! Thanks for the idea burnbright

YES! That's the one. It was terrible. But I love the idea of a bingo game as we watch them, sounds kind of fun! They're also great for wrapping presents to. I don't have to focus on the movie too much because the plots are so simple, and wrapping presents isn't something that I really need to mentally focus on, so it's a perfect combo. Great for Christmas inspiration. My teenage son likes to walk by while I'm watching them and give his critique of the acting, set design, etc. I acknowledge how bad they are, so he doesn't judge me too hard, lol.
