So my Mom isn't remembering so well. I had vacation coming up and said I'd come down and we could scrapbook her Mom's pictures. Made is simple since she can't concentrate for long. I ended up doing all the pages while she looked at pictures. Her brothers will be coming over later to fill in any information I didn't already have. She's happy and I told her it would be easy for her to do this simple scrapbooking since she wants to do it herself. She asked about my cutting machine (Cricut Explore) and I told her she would have to use a computer which she can't do. I assured her it's okay if she just wants to do some stamping and add stickers. It's her scrapbook.

I’m glad you did that for her, very kind. I’d do the same for my mom or mother-in-law too, for that matter.

Aw, that's a really good thing. I'm sure it was good for you both to spend some time and look at pictures and talk about them. And 31 pages of memories to look over. I'm glad she enjoyed the process and was inspired to do more I'm sure her brothers will love what you did too. Good memory keeping <3

....and that’s what this is all about! All the paper and tools and embellishments and stickers and fonts and stamps and ink and fancy pens and and and... It’s all about preserving memories and making someone smile.

Congrats! You got a lot done! And you will always be glad you helped her with this.
I did something similar for my mom during the months before she died, but it was my mom’s life that I scrapped. The pages had to be simple for hers, too. I had practically nothing to scrapbook with, since she lived 2,000 miles away from me, and I could only take what I was able to pack in my suitcase, but as we went through pictures, I learned stories of her life that I had not heard before, and neither had anyone else.

What you've done is wonderful, for her now, and for your family in the longer term

What a wonderful shared activity with your Mom, and so cool that your uncles can help fill in the details. Now you will have a wonderful record of her life and a sweet memory of putting it together.

Sometimes people have no interest in family history which I think is sad. I’ll bet your mom loved having you there to help as well as share her stories. The pages may be simple but it’s the pictures and journaling that matter.

The pages may be simple but it’s the pictures and journaling that matter. My dad was really put off when I told him that on the Wednesday Mom and I would just be scrapbooking. So going anywhere. He wanted to take me out on his boat. I had already told him that I just don't do boats. A few of the family members that live in that area got a chance to go through the scrapbook. They thought it was a wonderful thing to do for my Mom. Next step is my parent's wedding. Their copies of their pictures got ruined in a basement flood but my grandma had copies and I found them.

My Mom has onset dementia so I thought this would be helpful. She really did like to go through the 31 pages. She couldn't remember some things but some pictures had stuff written on the back and about 10 years ago I got information for some of the pictures. Her brothers will be able to help fill in the blanks. It was also kind of cool to go through my grandma's life like that. And I got to see my Mom at different ages in her life.
